Story
Vader is a sweet, chill dog who needs tender, loving care. This gentle boy, unfortunately, came from a cruelty case where he was left in an apartment for several days. Despite struggling through a rough patch in his life, and being in shelter care for 5 months, he still kept his manners. Favorably, Mister Vader comprehends many commands--including Paw, Sit, Stay, Lay Down, and how to get into his kennel! Such a smart pup! He loves his treats, does anything to get one, and is not aggressive with his food. Keeping Vader clean is easy. Just be sure he is comfortable and calm and he will love it! This boy is also 7 years young! Vader loves to play ball and with his other toys, so having a fun game of fetch is an excellent way to entertain the pupper! While he likes to meet other dogs, Vader often likes to mind his own business; even pulling a bit on the leash to get an in-depth whiff of his surroundings. Vader is curious! Though very sweet with children, he gets too excited at first meeting them and may scare some little ones with Zoomies. If you take Vader home, he would love you endlessly, sneaking in an extra long cuddle for good measure; if he's feeling extra lovey, he's willing for a hug too! This sweet boy needs any kind of love you can give. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ . Story
Clark is a 4-year-old, 78-pound, neutered male and a giant sweetie with a lot to say.  He came into rescue as a reactive, blustery street fellow, and with good socialization and a lot of work (including the help of a trainer), Clark Griswold has come a long way! Clark sings when he is excited getting ready to go for a walk.  He does well on the leash, and is a handsome runner.  His foster family has taken him running up to 8-miles, and it’s like an easy cruise for Clark.  Mr. Griswold would love to be part of your neighborhood HOA and lay down all the laws about speeding, he has worked with his foster to work with him to ignore passing cars while on the run or walk and is getting much better.  Walking with treats has helped reinforce good behavior. Mr. Griswold just finished his third vacation trip to Colorado with his foster family. He did well in the car with chew bones for distraction.  He had lots of off leash time running in the National Forest doing dog stuff like chasing chipmunks and baby grouse, and had excellent recall the entire time!  This dog is not a runaway risk and just wants to please and hang out with his humans. Clark loves toys, tearing them apart, but has never turned his attentions to destroying anything else in the house.  He will happily busy himself with a Nylabone or deer antler.  He is highly food-motivated, will surf the counters if left unsupervised, and has never met a snack without his name on it.  He currently has a male foster brother, and they wrestle and play together now.  It took a little bit of time to adjust and get to that point but he is great now.  Clark is house trained and uses a doggy door.   He does well when left out in the house while his humans are gone. The ideal forever home for Clark would be a family who can appreciate his energetic Labrador-like style and continue building his manners.  Clark loves to play tug with his toys and wrestle with his human.  He is a big dog who doesn’t yet recognize how to tone it down for little humans, and while he does well with his foster family’s 11yo kiddo, he might be a lot for a younger child. He is being fostered in the San Antonio area if you are interested in adopting him. ##1887637##

Story
Schultz is an active, gorgeous 2-year-old, 65-pound, blue Weimaraner that is looking for his forever home.  Schultz has been through training and behavior modification due to not getting along with other dogs.  He also has been treated for heartworm disease and is done with his rest and ready to run.  Ideally Schultz would be best without other dogs, although there is one tri-paw girl named Dahlia that he is best friends with at the boarding facility and is also available for adoption with him if a family would want to adopt them both.  Her pictures are in his profile. He loves people, is crate trained and housebroken, and knows all his commands, loose leash walking, and place.  Since Schultz is very active, his best home would be one without small children. If you are interested in fostering/adopting please submit an application.  He is currently in the DFW area. ##1612840##

Story
Meet Orchid: The Mellow Sweetheart Ready for Her Forever Home! Introducing Orchid, our three-year-old (almost four!) bundle of joy who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at 52 pounds, Orchid is part of our prestigious Super Dog Canine Good Citizen Program and has earned her title as a fantastic dog. Orchid's life started out rough. She was found as a stray with her puppy, filled with fear. However, through lots of love and training, she has blossomed into a fabulous dog. Although shy at first, Orchid quickly warms up and becomes over-attached to her person, showering them with loyalty and affection. She's currently living in boarding and is eager to find either a foster or forever home. Orchid is great with dogs, serving as our tester dog for introductions. She has a calming influence on other dogs and is pretty mellow herself. She'd do best in a home with older children over the age of 10 or 12. Like all dogs, proper introductions and decompression are essential, but Orchid is particularly sensitive to new environments. This lovely lady does experience some separation anxiety and tends to form strong attachments to her person. Orchid isn't very food motivated, but she has a soft spot for hot dogs, string cheese, chicken, and especially Go-Gurt. She loves to walk and is great on a leash, knowing her basic commands. Her calm and affectionate nature makes her a wonderful companion. Orchid is smart, eager to learn, and ready to please. She's excited to have a comfy bed, toys she can call her own, and a loving family to show her what life is all about. With a little time to adjust, she will no doubt adapt quickly and become your loyal best friend. If you're looking for a mellow, sweet, and loyal companion who's ready to bring joy and love into your life, Orchid is your girl. Adopt Orchid today and give her the forever home she's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.
