Story
As Vader enters his later years, the cuddly force is strong with this one. He's an 8-year-old gent who still has plenty of energy to play and bring joy to his forever family, and will chill, too. He's a master with kids. Vader will play with other dogs, too, and enjoys a wide range of toys. He's awesome in his crate, on a leash, or riding in a car. He's not a fan of cats - those rebel scum - so it's best to keep them on the farthest edge of the galaxy. For now, he's on a limited diet, so treats are verboten (but he is a fan). He can be a bit of a couch potato, but all the better if his people are sitting next to him. This beautiful boy will thrive in a family with other dogs, or even as the center of the universe. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Story
The folks with Weimaraner Rescue are trying to find me a new home but I haven’t had anyone interested in me for months! I know I’m a good boy so, let me tell you, my story. I’m originally from El Paso, around 7 years old and super buff at 113 pounds. Some would say I could lose a few lbs, but I think I’m good. When rescue heard I needed help, the guy that picked me up fell in love instantly - I do have that effect on people! Suddenly I had two people showering me with affection and a doggie friend to play with; even though the place was small it was cozy and full of love. Over the next couple years two more large dogs joined the family. A trainer came but my owner didn’t do any of the suggestions to keep us dogs safe. Things got real one day with my older brother when they left us home alone. No one knows who started it, but I took the blame and now I’m back in rescue. I returned to Houston and completed a 6-week course with a dog trainer. I will wait at the door to allow you to walk through first, walk by your side, sit, and remain in place on command. I know my manners and the more time you spend with me, the better I’ll do. I meet other dogs where I’m staying, and I’m cool with them but based on my inconsistent behavior around other dogs in a home, I really need to be your one and only bestie. I’m not a fan of squirrels so probably cats won’t work for me either. I do have a great disposition – I’m a balanced mix of energy, chill, and always happy. The people that take care of me love me and tell me what a wonderful dog I am. I am a bit of a Velcro boy – well a lot of one really! A good cuddle on the couch is a perfect day. I also love getting out to go for walks when I have people visit me. I am house trained and lived perfectly in a home without being crated. I have a clean bill of health and I’m up to date on everything medical. DNA is all the rage now, so I got mine done too. I’m 49% Weimaraner, 29% American Pitbull Terrier, 17% American Staffordshire Terrier and the remaining 5% Boxer and Chow. Yep, I’m a Weim Pit mix which basically stands for ONE AWESOME DOG. I’ve been at the boarding facility for months where I’m safe, warm, and fed, but I’m lonely here in my kennel. What I really want is my own family to love, to snuggle on the sofa, go for walks and get yummy treats. I promise to be a good boy as long as you keep me safe. If you aren’t the one, that is ok but please share my story as I’m ready to go home with a loving family. Tater is being cared for by Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. We are working with The Love Pit to give Tater better visibility to families looking for that one special pup. www.WeimRescueTexas.org Tater is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Meet  Tator.  He is a 7-year-old Weimaraner mix.  He’s a big boy that currently weighs 115 pounds (he’s working on getting that number down some to get his summer body ready).  He has so much love to share with a family.  He has a heart of gold and his ears are as soft as silk.    Tator enjoys walks, soaking up some sun light outside (preferably with you around), car rides, and hanging out on the couch watching TV or baseball.  He’s not big on playing with bones or toys but does play with them occasionally.  No worry about toy fluff being spread around the house, because he knows how to take care of his toys.  No matter what, he just wants to be with his people like a typical Weim.  Tator is currently living with a foster family that has 2 dogs.  He is usually found hanging out with them unless he leaves the room to come find you.  He gets along great with his current fur siblings (they are not small dogs) and there haven’t been any issues at all between them.  However, based on some previous interactions with a dog in his former home it is recommended that he be adopted out as an only dog.  No one was home at the time so not really sure what caused the issue.  He has been such a perfect gentleman from day one with his foster family.  He is not a big barker, but will alert you if he see’s something “suspicious”.    He does like to chase squirrels in the back yard, but if you tell him not to and to come in the house his listens.  He enjoys bouncing and running around in the back yard and if there’s a dog next door he’s happy to run and investigate but again he’s not a barker.   He will wait patiently while you make his meals and takes treats and cookies with a very soft, gentle mouth.  No snatching from this boy!  He also sleeps on his bed through the night until you’re ready to get up.  Right now he has someone home with him most of the time but has been left uncrated in the house for probably 4-5 hours and he just sleeps and hangs out with his foster siblings waiting for you to come home.  He is being fostered in Houston if you are interested in applying for him. ##1290830##

Story
Walker is an almost 9-year-old, gray male Weimaraner that was surrendered with his companion Chance.  They are a bonded pair at this point.   They enjoy lying on a blanket together, or cuddling in front of a space heater/fire.  They are mostly house trained and will sit at the door when they need to go outside.  Walker still has occasional marking accidents but they are working on it.  Belly bands might be just the ticket to help him overcome this issue.  These boys will go in a crate but are very afraid of it so a person that has a dog door and willing to work with them when they leave the home would be ideal.  They know basic commands like sit, stay and inside.  They love going for walks and lying in the sunshine.  Walker is still working on leash manners but Chance is much better on leash.  Walker also deals with some separation anxiety so having someone home during the day would be helpful.  Walker also recently had a full dental with some extractions as well as a lipoma removed so he is in good health. They love to be outside to run and play, but don't really have an interest in toys or balls. They are your typical seniors that know a good routine and know when it's bedtime.  They currently sleep with a child and has become his alarm clock in the morning. These boys are being fostered in Beebe, Arkansas but need an adoptive placement as soon as possible or they will have to move to Houston to board. ##2307235##

Mac (MacDaddy) is an 89-pound, 7-year-old, gray male Weimaraner that is a solid boy, but thinks he's a chihuahua.  He's velcro and loves to lean on you.  If you pet and scratch him he'll be your best friend.  He is a goofy boy that is a bit like a bull in a china shop.  He can come on strong with his size and would do best in a family with older kids and good leadership. Mac loves to party.  He is crate trained although he's been rubbing his nose on the crate a little bit.  He knows some commands, but he decides if it's worth it to use them. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m Ginger II! I'm a VERY loving long haired soft coated Catahoula/Pit bull mix. I am white with beige spots and a long tail. I have light colored eyes. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m great with kids. I think chihuahuas are my friend. Although I have been an outside dog, I prefer to be inside with my owners. I spend the night in my kennel and eat at 7 am and 5 pm. I usually stay inside. I just know I would be a great indoor dog if I was potty trained or had a doggy door. I have been around chihuahuas and cats but maybe canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t be trusted around cats. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Ginger II, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. I am a very loving Catahoula/Pit Bull mix. My name is Cookie V! I love attention. I was born with a stubby tail. If I jump at you, I am only wanting you to hold me like a baby over your shoulder.
