Story
D E L A N E Y is a joy and a jewel of a pup; 20 months, 45 lbs of innocent love and curiosity. After living from 8 weeks to February of this year in an apartment with a lonely human since she was loved but not exposed to the big world. She has graduated training school and just loves the outdoors and a comfy indoor life. She walks very well on a leash, she gets very excited to meet other dogs, especially larger ones and amuses herself quite well with all her toys. She is an active girl and will do best in a home with a roomy back yard and an active human who ideally works from home and can exercise her daily. She gets along very well with other dogs, is interested in cats but has not lived with them and she will absolutely entertain herself chasing squirrels and watching birds outdoors. She is not the least bit destructive except with her stuffed toys and tug of rope. She is currently in a foster home in Dallas. Fully vetted and ready for her furever home! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Delaney is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.December 4, 2023, 11:58 am

Story
Howdy I’m Sophie My dad died suddenly and my sister and I were left to fend for ourselves until someone came to help and realized we needed help too. It was a scary few weeks but we are both safe now and hoping to find someone to love us as much as our dad did.  I’m past all those youngster shenanigans and love to cuddle, hang out with friends and spend time in the sunshine. Walks would be great and I won’t complain if you have treats to share. If you are a Weim lover you already know that we get better as we age! Falling for me... Hi, there! My name's Mischief, but don't let that fool you - I'm a good girl! I had a bit of a rough start, was left unattended and got into some trouble when I was younger, but I'm older and wiser now. I'm about 3 years old, I am already spayed, current on all my vaccines (Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies), I'm already microchipped and I am also heartworm negative. So...whadaya say...want to add a little "Mischief" to your life? Then come on down and let's get to know each other!

Story
Vader is a sweet, chill dog who needs tender, loving care. This gentle boy, unfortunately, came from a cruelty case where he was left in an apartment for several days. Despite struggling through a rough patch in his life, and being in shelter care for 5 months, he still kept his manners. Favorably, Mister Vader comprehends many commands--including Paw, Sit, Stay, Lay Down, and how to get into his kennel! Such a smart pup! He loves his treats, does anything to get one, and is not aggressive with his food. Keeping Vader clean is easy. Just be sure he is comfortable and calm and he will love it! This boy is also 7 years young!

Vader loves to play ball and with his other toys, so having a fun game of fetch is an excellent way to entertain the pupper! While he likes to meet other dogs, Vader often likes to mind his own business; even pulling a bit on the leash to get an in-depth whiff of his surroundings. Vader is curious! Though very sweet with children, he gets too excited at first meeting them and may scare some little ones with Zoomies. If you take Vader home, he would love you endlessly, sneaking in an extra long cuddle for good measure; if he's feeling extra lovey, he's willing for a hug too! This sweet boy needs any kind of love you can give.

All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on

Story
My name is Duke.  I'm an 8-year-old, 70-pound blue male Weimaraner mix.  I came into rescue care because my owner went into the ICU and the family left me at a shelter. My foster family thinks I'm the perfect gentleman.  I'm a mellow guy who enjoys napping, eating ice and following my foster family around the house.  My new furry foster siblings and I get along great!   I like to nap next to them and occasionally play a game of wrestling or chase. My little human fosters siblings are pretty cool too!  If I sit patiently under their high chairs they will give me food which I take from them gently. I'm not a huge fan of the crate, but I'm learning to sleep in there at night.  I have a tiny bit of separation anxiety but I'm not destructive.  I just whine a little bit if I'm separated from my people.  I'm a pretty smart boy cuz I know sit, lay down, speak and shake.   Currently I'm living with 2 other dogs and 4 kids so I check off dog and kid friendly.  If you would like to know more about me, I'm being fostered in the Houston area. ##1481663##

Story
Shay is an almost 6-year-old, 80-pound, blue Weim mix (looks like Great Dane/Weim mix) that just loves affection.  Shay came from a pretty hard background where she was abandoned and left to fend for herself.  Thankfully she was found and we were able to take her in. Shay has been at a board and train facility for many weeks due to aggression issues with small dogs.  The trainer has said she is such a great girl that if she didn't have too many dogs herself she would adopt her in a heartbeat. Shay is not a high energy dog and honestly just wants to be around her humans.  She does not need much exercise like your typical Weimaraner - possibly the Great Dane influence in her personality.  A short walk a day should be plenty.  Shay needs to be the only dog in the home, as the best fit for her.  She has coexisted with a very lazy male hound dog but she is not good with small dogs.  She sees them as prey.  Shay can get spooked and confused by really fast moving high energy dogs and smaller dogs.  So it's best for her to be in a home without them so she can be comfortable and not anxious. Shay is leash trained, has great obedience, off leash trained, crate trained, muzzle trained and house trained. If you are interested in adopting Shay and giving this girl a home, you will get help from her trainer to make sure she settles into your home nicely and Jessica will help with any questions you have about Shay.  She is currently in the NW Austin area. ##1558815##

Story
Lena is a 4-year-old, 62-pound gray female looking for her forever family.  Lena has lived her live completely outside by herself and is slowly becoming used to the good life with being allowed to live in the house and enjoy the couch and snuggles.  She is learning that people and head rubs are really nice and that she will always be allowed back in the house.  She is good with people, kids, and other dogs.  She really likes being a part of a dog pack and is a little bit more laid back than other females her age. She does have hip dysplasia in her right hip joint but that hasn't slowed her down from running and playing.  She loves playing with the orange ball and has claimed it as her favorite toy and takes it everywhere with her.  Since living outside for most of her life housebreaking is something she has had to work on and is now being successful in her foster home..   Lena would be a great dog for a family or with a person as an only dog to be her only love giver. She is being fostered in the Huntsville area if you are interested in applying. ##1770162##

Copper is a fantastic buddy that loves his people. He loves watching for squirrels and protecting the yard! Copper adores his “stuffies” and loves to do zoomies with them. Copper would also prefer a home without children. He enjoys a brisk walk, know how to sit and shake and loves to howl when he hears any siren! Copper has a good amount of energy, but also loves to relax with his humans. Soft plush blankets are his favorite, and he can barely wait for you to lay them out before he tries and snuggles in. Copper can be choosy about other dogs, but has lived with a large and small dog with success! If you are looking for a devoted companion, Copper is the guy for you. Story
Willow is a 4.5 year old Catahoula Mix. Her birthday is approximately May 23, 2018. She is the sweetest, most loving dog to humans. She's empathetic and caring; She'll lick the tears off of your face when you're sad. She adores children and considers it her mission to keep them safe and happy. Tug-of-war is her favorite game in the world, although fetch is a close second. Her favorite toys are carrot shaped because she chewed on carrots as a puppy and grew an attachment (don't worry, some starter carrot toys will come with her). Willow has canine mega-esophagus, which means she needs either wet food or soaked kibble that she eats in her doggy high chair that she'll back herself up into at dinner time because she knows that's how she gets her food. She's reactive so when she gets over-stimulated, she gets aggressive with other animals(mainly other dogs) so she needs a home where it can be just her and her humans, with no other animals on the ground with her that she can reach. She's incredibly smart and learns tricks quickly. She knows all of the standards like sit, lay down, stay, heel, gentle, etc. She'll adorably paw at you when she wants pets. She's the perfect companion for the right furever home. My family dogs had puppies and she is one of them! I decided to take 1 and most of the other ones were given away. She was originally given away but the owner decided they wouldn’t have time to take care of her and returned her. She’s such a loving and sweet girl. I would keep her but 2 puppies in an apartment with a toddler is a lot. She needs a loving home!
