Story
Discover Bee: Our Gentle Soul in a World of Constant Wonder Bee has a heart full of love and a touch of quirk Loves: Predictable routines, the companionship of other dogs, her special selection of toys, and the serenity of a peaceful environment. A Little Shy: With new experiences and loud noises. Bee's Unique Journey - Living in a Familiar Yet Ever-New World: Like the captivating story of "50 First Dates," Bee's life is a beautiful blend of comforting routine and gentle discovery. Her soft, expressive eyes tell a tale of a loving soul who finds joy in the familiar and navigates the new with cautious curiosity. Bee's Daily Adventures: Each day for Bee is a quiet journey through well-loved paths. She finds solace in the predictability of her daily routines, from sunlit morning play to evening snuggles. The company of other dogs is always a delight, as she engages with a shy but genuine playfulness. Her toys, though few, are cherished companions in her tranquil world. Bee's Gentle Approach to Life: While Bee may tread carefully around new experiences and prefers the quietude of her environment, her approach to life is a lesson in finding beauty in simplicity. She reminds us that there's comfort in routine, and even in a familiar world, there's always something new to cherish. Bee’s Playful Side: In the safety of her known surroundings, Bee's playful nature emerges. She might cautiously approach a toy as if it's a new discovery each day, bringing a smile to those who know her well. Bee’s Philosophy: "Life doesn't have to be loud to be full of joy. In the whispers of the familiar, in the quiet play with friends, and in the gentle discovery of everyday things, there's a world of wonder waiting to be appreciated."Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 1:42 pm

Story
Meet  Tator.  He is a 7-year-old Weimaraner mix.  He’s a big boy that currently weighs 115 pounds (he’s working on getting that number down some to get his summer body ready).  He has so much love to share with a family.  He has a heart of gold and his ears are as soft as silk.    Tator enjoys walks, soaking up some sun light outside (preferably with you around), car rides, and hanging out on the couch watching TV or baseball.  He’s not big on playing with bones or toys but does play with them occasionally.  No worry about toy fluff being spread around the house, because he knows how to take care of his toys.  No matter what, he just wants to be with his people like a typical Weim.  Tator is currently living with a foster family that has 2 dogs.  He is usually found hanging out with them unless he leaves the room to come find you.  He gets along great with his current fur siblings (they are not small dogs) and there haven’t been any issues at all between them.  However, based on some previous interactions with a dog in his former home it is recommended that he be adopted out as an only dog.  No one was home at the time so not really sure what caused the issue.  He has been such a perfect gentleman from day one with his foster family.  He is not a big barker, but will alert you if he see’s something “suspicious”.    He does like to chase squirrels in the back yard, but if you tell him not to and to come in the house his listens.  He enjoys bouncing and running around in the back yard and if there’s a dog next door he’s happy to run and investigate but again he’s not a barker.   He will wait patiently while you make his meals and takes treats and cookies with a very soft, gentle mouth.  No snatching from this boy!  He also sleeps on his bed through the night until you’re ready to get up.  Right now he has someone home with him most of the time but has been left uncrated in the house for probably 4-5 hours and he just sleeps and hangs out with his foster siblings waiting for you to come home.  He is being fostered in Houston if you are interested in applying for him. ##1290830##

Story
Looking for a wild-hearted adventure buddy? Meet Mabeline, a 6-year-old firecracker with a goofy spirit, tons of love to give, and energy for days! She came into rescue at just 44 lbs and has filled out into a strong, healthy 80 lbs — and now she’s ready to find her perfect match. This girl is kennel trained, sleeps well in her crate (as long as it’s near her people!), and is working hard on her manners. She’s a little mouthy and jumpy when excited, so she’d do best in a home with dog-savvy adults or older children who can help her channel her enthusiasm in positive ways. She’s a natural hunter at heart — so no cats, birds, or other small critters in her future home, please. But if you love the outdoors and want a companion who’s eager to be by your side hiking, exploring, or even hunting, she might be your dream dog. While she’s still learning leash skills and impulse control, she’s smart and eager to please. She’ll thrive in a home with active owners, a secure yard, and maybe even a playful dog sibling to help burn off that zoomie energy. When she’s not in motion, she’s a total lovebug — she adores belly rubs, couch cuddles, and just being close to her humans. She’ll even bark to let you know when someone’s at the door — bonus: built-in alert system! With time, structure, and lots of love, Mabeline will grow into the loyal, loving, and fun companion she was meant to be. If you’re looking for a high-energy best friend with a big personality and an even bigger heart, she’s ready to meet you! She is being fostered in Cleburne if you are interested in meeting  her. ##2173302##

Story
Baxter Lee is an 11-year-old big boy weighing 71 pounds. Although he is a large boy, he is a gentle giant and is very careful around others not bumping into them or getting in the way. He is very strong but is perfect on a leash and walks as slowly or as fast as you go. He is an independent guy, unlike other Weims, and pretty much stays to himself but will come and check on you from time to time. He loves the sun and spends a lot of time outdoors sunning on the deck. He is quite fascinated by anything floating in the pool or flying overhead and often will snatch the pool thermometer from the pool and then tease me with it! He loves to play chase with whatever favorite thing he decides to bring from another room to show you whether it is your slippers, a pillow off the bed, or something else he knows he is not supposed to have. The only way to retrieve the item is to offer a treat! And then you must grab the item before giving the treat or you will have to start all over again. He does have a loud bark and feels that he must use it whenever seeing anyone outside that doesn’t look familiar. He has been very good with guests, even small children, as he doesn’t try to push them over. I have a bird in a cage that he smelled once and has ignored ever since. Not sure if cats are an issue but he is a lover of chasing squirrels and birds in the back yard. He is good with multiple dogs (the foster has 2) but may be fine with being the only dog as well. He has a very chilled laid-back personality but can be quite stubborn. When he doesn’t want to do what you want him to do, he does not listen and conveniently forgets his name. He is a “nooker” and has claimed one of the blankets as his “nooking” blanket. He often falls asleep after a meal while nooking as we all settle on the couch watching TV. He does like to sleep on the furniture even though there are multiple beds around the house. He chooses a chair, and then when we are all together, he sleeps next to me on the sofa. At bedtime he either sleeps in bed with the rest of us or finds his way into one of the overstuffed chairs. Baxter Lee would be a great dog for someone that needs a laid back, sweet guy and would be fine as an only dog or with another dog. He will need regular exercise as I do believe he gets a little bored lying around all day. Currently he has some issues with his hips and will need some physical therapy to help him keep moving. He has no mobility issues at present and can jump in the car and on the bed without a problem. He  is being fostered in the DFW area if a senior boy is who you are looking for. ##2354754##

Story
Meet Ladybird, a 7-year-old gentle soul with a big heart and a deep love for sunshine, snuggles, and quiet companionship. She’s the definition of an “old soul” — calm, affectionate, and just looking for a soft place to land. Ladybird came into rescue underweight at just 44 lbs and has flourished into a healthy 80 lbs with the help of her foster family. She’s been through heartworm treatment and should test negative at her 6-month checkup.  She is kennel trained and has had a few teeth pulled due to her previous living situation — but that hasn’t dulled her spirit one bit. She does well with other dogs and even has feline foster sisters she peacefully coexists with. She’s content being the only pet or sharing her home with calm companions. She walks okay on a leash and improves with every stroll. While Ladybird is well-mannered indoors, she does experience some anxiety when left alone outside the kennel, which can lead to chewing — so she’s best crated when unattended. She’ll need a home with someone patient and understanding as she settles in and builds trust. One thing to note: this girl is smart and determined! Ladybird can climb a 4-ft chain link fence with ease, so she’ll need a secure yard with a 6-ft fence or higher to keep her safely contained. She loves sunbathing on the patio, curling up on the couch, and soaking in all the belly rubs and snuggles you can offer. She may start off a bit shy, retreating to her kennel when she first comes inside, but with time and love, she warms up beautifully. Ladybird is simply looking for a forever family who will give her the love and comfort she’s always deserved. Could that be you? She is being fostered in Cleburne if you are interested. ##2172926##
