Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MAVERIC along  with 3 other dogs (possibly siblings and son)   came to  Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine  on Saturday, 7th September 2024 f   rom a local breeder who was not able to find homes for them . We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue.   We have had them fixed and vetted and they are now ready for their perfect forever homes and families. MAVERIC is neutered, current on vaccines, rabies, monthly preventatives, de-wormed, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and microchipped. MAVERICK weighs 8.80 pounds and we were told his date of Birth is 15 April 2024. We believe him to be a Yorkie / Bichon mix. MAVERICK is a sweet, affectionate boy who is desperate for love and affection. He is all puppy and eager to learn and go on adventures to explore the big outside world. We do not think he is leash trained and although he uses the dog door to go out into the kennel run to do his business, we are not sure that he would know to let his family know he wants to go out - so expecting to work on this should be acceptable to interested families. We are looking for a family that understands the need of this type of breeds grooming and how quickly matts can form if they are not brushed and trimmed on a regular basis and the additional cost of grooming along with providing good quality food, preventatives as and when needed and of course annual check ups and vet care as and when necessary should all be taken into account. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. He does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. MAVERICK has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Meet Rambo!  You will never meet a more handsome little guy.  Rambo is a special yorkshire terrier--a Biewer Terrier.  (The Biewer Terrier is a toy dog of German descent that is the result of two Yorkshire Terriers with a recessive piebald gene breeding. It is usually kept as a companion animal or a show dog. The Biewer Terrier was recognized by the AKC in 2021. Wikipedia)  This little one just exeudes personality.  He even posed for his pictures.  Rambo is 13 weeks old and just full of life.  He LOVES to play and has the best time running and playing with two of his foster brothers.  They don't skip a beat.  So a fenced in yard and another small young dog are a must for Rambo's forever home.  Watching him run and play just makes you smile.  When not running and playing Rambo will settle down for a nap. Once he is rejuvenated he is up and at it again.  Rambo also enjoyes naps on the sofa right beside you.  He will also curl up for loving and to watch a good movie.  Hopefully you enyoy a daily walk or two as Rambo is great on a leash and loves to show himself off.  Rambo is also good in the car and can be a nice little co-pilot.  If you are looking for a super sweet buddy for your 2 and 4 legged family then you have found him.  Rambo is scheduled to be neutered and complete his vetting on 9/9.  He will then be ready for his forever home.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne directly at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Rambo is in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)September 12, 2024, 11:19 pm

Story
Hi my name is Sweetie because I am just that.  You won't find a sweeter little girl than me.  I am a 7 year old 11 lbs yorkie mix who loves everyone.  I was surrendered to Critter Cavalry with my brother and sister when our family could no longer take care of us.  We were very sad at first but once we settled in we realized what it was like to truly be taken care of and to be loved.  We are enjoying life now and ready to find our forever homes.  My ideal home would be with a family or even a single lady who would worship and spoil me.  I am so deserving of that and will love you back 100 times over.  I am a young lady looking for a pampered life of luxury.  Who doesn't want that!!  I would love a home with a little friend that I could hang out with and play with when you are not home.  I am a social girl so I would benefit from a companion.  What would be better than 2 of us to cuddle with.  You will find that I am a little cuddle bug who will want to be right with you.  I hope there is a place on the sofa or chair for me to snuggle next to you and at night please make room for me.  Cold weather is right around the corner and I will keep you nice and warm.  I hope you will apply to add me to your family.  I have been spayed and am current on all my shots, on monthly preventative and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)September 12, 2024, 11:19 pm

Story
DOB 5-24-2024 Looking for a cutie? Her name is Nora! She is social, loves to play with toys and her little friends. Her adoption fee is 950.00 and transport fee is 165.00. Our transport service is HEARTS, they run every other week and all stops on the east coast are on Saturday. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
