Story
Meet Elijah, a tiny teacup Yorkie with a soul far bigger than his 4-pound frame. Born on October 19, 2021, this silky-soft little boy is the definition of delicate sweetness. Elijah has spent much of his young life quietly waiting—waiting for lap time, gentle words, and the kind of love that makes a dog feel truly seen.   Though once deeply cherished, life circumstances changed for his owner, and long days crated with little attention became Elijah’s reality. With love in their heart, his owner made the selfless decision to release him to Critter Cavalry, so Elijah could finally find the attentive, devoted home he deserves.   Elijah is shy, tender, and incredibly gentle—a sweet little shadow who blossoms with kindness. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is pee-pad trained, and would do beautifully in a home where someone can continue his training with a consistent outdoor schedule. What Elijah wants most is simple: love, routine, and a warm lap to call his own.   As he hopes to start the new year off on the right paw, Elijah is dreaming of a forever home where he’ll never feel overlooked again. Could that be you—the person who gives him the affection, security, and quiet companionship he’s been waiting for?   Elijah is currently in Nashville, TN. Transport is available on January 9th to the northeastern states. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 31, 2025, 5:49 pm

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Momma Ruby is ready to be someone’s baby now &#226&#156&#168 Ruby is a precious 7-pound Yorkie/Chihuahua  sweetheart, under 2 years old, who has already done one of the hardest jobs there is — raising six puppies. Now that her mom duties are over, this tiny girl is discovering how fun, playful, and cozy life can be. Ruby is gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving once she feels secure. She adores cuddling, happily curls up in laps, loves her donut bed, and makes a beeline under the covers at bedtime for snuggles by your leg. As her confidence grows, she shows off her playful side with joyful zoomies and silly ball games — watching her play is pure happiness. She walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is nearly house-trained, using both outdoor potty breaks and pee pads with ease. Ruby is also great with cats and enjoys trying to play with her feline foster siblings. Ruby thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with a confident small dog to help guide her and ease her anxiety when left alone. A calm, patient person or couple — especially someone who works from home or is retired — would be ideal to help her continue building confidence at her own pace. Her foster home is gently introducing her to the world with frequent outings, and while Ruby may be a little shaky at first, she’s improving all the time. Once she trusts you, her heart opens completely, revealing a funny, playful, loving little dog who wants nothing more than to be close. Ruby has a long, bright future ahead, and we are committed to finding her a forever family who will love her for all of it. If you’re ready to help a shy little diamond blossom, Ruby is waiting. Story
Meet Shania, our beautiful little comeback girl — and just like her country music namesake, she’s ready for a brand-new chapter filled with love, understanding, and the right environment to truly shine. Shania is a sweet JRT/Westie mix girl who is happy, lively and just 1-year, weighing just 12 pounds. Her look is a charming wiry coat paired with an absolutely darling personality. She enjoys leash walks, watching the world go by, and will happily investigate any squirrel bold enough to cross her path. She’s wonderful with other dogs, cats, and is friendly with men she meets out in public. Inside the home, however, Shania needs a very specific setup to feel safe and secure. Due to something in her past, she becomes protective if a man lives in the home and believes she must guard the woman she loves. Because of this, Shania needs a female-only household with no men living in the home. In the right environment, she relaxes, settles beautifully, and shows just how loving and joyful she truly is. She is currently working on potty training and does well using potty pads, and with continued consistency, she will keep improving. Shania is small, affectionate, and full of potential — she simply needs the right person who understands her and is willing to give her the peaceful, predictable home she deserves.  If you think you could be the perfect match for this special girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Story
Angus, would like to know if you are willing to open your heart and home to a spunky senior? He knows it's the holiday season and everyone dreams of a new puppy, but he is looking for that family who wants the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy but the wisdom and affection that only age can provide. Are you his Christmas miracle? His origins prior to landing at Waterbury Animal Control are unknown, but his foster mom feels that his history doesn't  matter to him.  His new experiences only improve his lease on life. He is super excited when he sees his leash and is great on a walk. He is very food motivated!  If you're in the kitchen, he is right by your side just to help clean up in case you drop something. He loves to be next to his human and sleeps in bed all night. Angus has not met a dog or human that he doesn't like and he thinks the resident foster cat is ok as well. A fenced in yard would be preferred for him as he enjoys exploring with his foster dog housemates. He will need to be on a leash at all times when not in the home or in a fenced yard because, if given the opportunity, he would be on his merry way and not look back. He would love for someone to be home often so that he can enjoy his golden years with all of the attention and snuggles that he can get. Is the New Year going to be bright for Angus with the gift of a new home? Fill out an application to fulfill his Holiday Wish. ##2565582##

Story
Tiny senior Yorkie. Rescued as an unwanted dog. According to the vet he is 8-10 years old. His bloodwork was normal with a slight elevation with white blood cells. Vet thinks its related to his teeth. He does need dental work which is expensive. He is full of personality. We are working on potty training. He does like to mark and does well with a doggie diaper. Loves food and has put on weight. He is up to date on vaccinations. Loves to chase balls and play with his stuff toys.

Story
Meet Goldie! Goldie is a sweet, little Yorkie coming into our rescue who was saved from euthanasia. She is approximately 7 pounds and three years old. We don’t know what tragedy left her paralyzed, but she has no use of her two back legs. She will be going to the vet for x-rays and exams to see what we can figure out for long-term plan, but she gets along perfectly fine by scooting along the floor or does really great in her wheelchair. She is capable of peeing and pooping on her own, but she does not have control. She has adjusted very well to wearing a diaper and it’s truly not that difficult as she is such a little bitty girl. Would you consider opening up your heart in your home and adopting or fostering this sweet pup when she arrives at the rescue? Please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home or email pawrescued2016@gmail.com for an application. Her adoption fee is $525.
