Story
This is "Oreo". Oreo is a Yorkie. She is 2 years and 6 months old and she weighs about 13 pounds. Oreo is a very friendly and sweet little girl. Sadly, Oreo comes to us from a very neglectful home. It is hard to believe that a cute little dog like Oreo could be so neglected. We think Oreo has never been to a veterinarian. Well, we took care of that! Oreo went to the veterinarian and she got spayed, she got her shots, she tested negative for heartworm and she was given a heartworm preventative. We also think Oreo has never been to a groomer. Well, we took care of that too! Oreo went to the groomer and she got the works! Oreo got a bath, she got a beautiful haircut and she even got her nails clipped (no nail polish though!). The first picture of Oreo is Oreo in the car on her way home from the groomer! She sure looks great, she feels better and she is very happy! In Oreo's new home, children must be 6 years old or older. Oreo will make a great companion for someone. She does need someone that will have time for her and does not work all day, maybe works a half day, because she still needs some "potty" training. You MUST own your own home. You MUST own your own condo. Absolutely no apartments. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Oreo is $450.00. No credit cards. If you are interested in Oreo, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. Oreo can be seen by appointment or you can meet her on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Oreo sure hopes to see you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
DOB 2-11-2019 Pepper is a retired working girl looking for her first very own home. She is sweet, likes to play, gets along with everyone and deserves her own life now. Pepper has been spayed, she is heartworm negative and received a proheart 6 heartworm preventative injection. The adoption fee for Pepper is 750.00 and her transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can just look at this spunky little guy’s pictures and tell that he is going to be a whole lot of fun! He loves playing with his toys and exploring and playing in the yard. He is also pretty fond of people and he enjoys any attention that they see fit to give him. He is a good natured and happy boy and like most Yorkies he is fairly active and independent. Murphy is good with other dogs, cats and children…he is crate trained, but still working on his house training. Although he weighs 15 pounds, he is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier (I have his Continental Kennel Club registration papers) and will look more the part once he has been groomed. My wish for Murphy is to be adopted by a fun and active family that will love him and include him in their everyday comings and goings. Murphy is 1 1/2 years old (dob 10/1/23), has been neutered, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $400. Murphy is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will be transported to his pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and his fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.
