Story
Name: Pancake Nicknames: Fluffernutter. Little One. Princess. Pumpkin. Crazy Girl. Breed: Terrier mix Sex: Female Age: 4 years Weight: 12 lbs. Before OMD: Animal Control seized 37 dogs from a hoarding situation (dogs were kept in a barn in filthy conditions) and reached out for help. Pancake was one of the last dogs left at animal control from the case and, especially after seeing the videos of her trembling in her kennel, we knew we needed to help. Energy Level: Medium. Loves to walk around the house carrying her toys, and play in the yard... then nap... then repeat. Affection love: Low. She wants to be in your area, wants to sleep in your bed, and wants to have your attention, but she does not want your pets....at least at first. Apartment Friendly: Not so much. She has been known to bark when alone, so shared walls are not ideal. Tagline: "Don't scare me. I poop easily" ...really. Pancake's natural reaction to being scared (of a new person picking her up, at the vet, etc.) is to release her bowels... What we love most: She is a true character, and constantly keeps us laughing. Her innocent nature. Her chewbacca yodel noises. Her full-on butt wiggles when she's excited to see foster mom. When she drapes herself, all stretched out, across the bed or couch, half on/half off. What she loves most: Greenies. Sunbathing. Yard time. Her foster siblings. Running in circles around the kitchen island, toy stuffed in her mouth, when foster mom comes home. Stealing all the toys and depositing them throughout the yard (but mainly on top of the hill, unfortunately). Cat/dog beds. Doesn't love: Being on leash or attempting to go for walks (she will freeze, thrash around, and or pancake...hence how she got her name)...basically anywhere outside the comfort of her own house/yard and anyone who isn't her foster mom. Skills: Jumping over gates or playpen walls. Keeping a close eye on you from anywhere in the house (but please don't look back and make eye contact, she's trying to be sneaky). Playing dead when being picked up or having harness put on. Kids: Nope. They are loud, chaotic, and scary. Dogs: Yes! Pancakes will thrive with another dog in the home. Cats: Yes! Housetrained: Definitely not (understandable given her history). Rugs are not safe from this girl...and she has a cool little party trick where she shimmies her booty up to poop in unattended shoes at 2am. Crate trained: Does not like to be closed into the crate, but she's often gone into the open crate with the bed and blanket. Ideal home: Low-traffic home who isn't scared off by accidents and isn't offended by a dog who doesn't want their attention at first. Her forever family should be incredibly patient, not rushing her and understanding she wants to be left initially. Over time (weeks-months) she will warm up to her people and they will get to see her full body wiggles, her hilarious noises, her prancing but the immediate expectation should be that you essentially have a cat who isn’t litter box trained (but way cuter and funnier). Pancake is spayed, vaccined, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This pretty girl is SAMANTHA, a Yorkie mix but not sure what she is mixed with.  She has a beautiful golden coat that is soft and she is a non-shedder. I am happy to see SAMANTHA running around playing and just having fun with her best play pal DORY.  But SAMANTHA can be a velcro dog as she loves to follow me around and just be close but does not get in my way. SAMANTHA had an owner who wanted to surrender her to our very high kill shelter and when the shelter did not have any room, they simply put her on the streets of San Antonio, TX.  She is just too sweet for that and would not have survived trying to care for herself. She tends to be a little submissive and easily rounds over on her back for belly rubs.  She does well with baths and grooming. SAMANTHA is 3 years old and weighs 12 pounds, walks well on a leash, she does not get car sick and does not jump all over the seats like some dogs do, she stays in her place and looks out the window. If you would like to adopt SAMANTHA please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This little 8 pound guy is the Champion of all hearts so I named him CHAMP!!!  Just a happy, happy and playful guy who is a lover.  He had a girlfriend but she got adopted so he is lonely for another playmate companion.  But seriously he plays with all of the dogs in the foster home, most of them bigger than he is. CHAMP is 2 years old, not chewing or destructive tendencies in his behavior.  He is just a lover boy!!  I have added pictures of what he looked like before his grooming.  He has a curled up tail like a Pomeranian and his coat is also a little thick like a Pomeranian but he has a lot of Yorkie in him as well, thus the small size. This little guy was roaming on a very busy street about to be hit by a car in San Antonio, TX.  He is crate trained and potty trained but in all fairness I let the dogs out very often so there are no accidents.  I do not have a doggy door. He does NOT lift his leg which is a big plus for him. I do not have any cats so I am not sure how he would get along with them. If you are interested in adopting CHAMP, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Story
Meet Salem, a male Yorkie/Chihuahua mix!  Salem is about 10 months old and 10 lbs. He is available for meet and greets! Salem is a very sweet cutie that is house and crate trained. He is good with other dogs and loves to be with his people! He loves to cuddle! His foster says, "He is extremely sweet, total lap dog and is switching to outside potty over puppy pads very easily! Not food aggressive. Like dogs of all sizes. Gets puppy zoomies, likes to play but also likes a lap life. Great with kids cautious of men, very shy at first but settles with time. Crate trained and sleeps through the night in bed or crate. He’s a absolute love!" We are accepting applications for him now!  He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats but expect him to be fine with them after a proper introduction. He is medically up to date and will be neutered before adoption. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2696355##
