Story
Meet Zeke! He is a 5-year-old, 13lbs Yorkie Bichon mix. Zeke is the happiest little guy, wanting nothing more than attention, a soft bed and his ball. When he wants you to throw his ball, he will bring it up to you, drop it at your feet, and nudge it towards you with his nose. Zeke is a sweetheart. Home visit and adoption donation required. Zeke has a moderate to high energy level, so he will need exercise and enrichment every day, multiple times a day. He would do great as an only pup, or with another small friendly dog. He has the body structure of a Bichon with a Yorkie coat, so he will require lifelong grooming. Zeke would be happiest being allowed on furniture. He loves to watch out the window from the back of the couch or chair. Zeke is potty trained and working on basic obedience, but he is already a very good boy. Continued training and bolstering his confidence would be best. If you are able to meet Zeke’s needs, this adorable lovebug is for you!"

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! GiGi is one of the sweetest girls ever. She can be a little shy with new people but she warms up quickly. Once she gets comfortable all she wants is attention and to play :) She LOVES playing with other dogs her size and loves running the field. Another dog is a must because that is what GiGi is used to and she loves having a playmate. :) A fenced yard is also a MUST because she has alot of energy and shes used to running freely. She is the most loving girl waiting patiently for her forever home! :) REQUIREMENTS: MUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOG, MUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Meet Sam Rushmore Sam Rushmore is an approximately 4‑year‑old, 11‑pound Yorkie who is looking for a fresh start and a place to finally call home. He was found as a stray and brought to ACCT Philly, and when no owner could be located, he was transferred into our care. Since joining us, Sam has been an easy, pleasant little guy. He’s friendly with volunteers, gentle to handle, and hasn’t given us any trouble at all. While he’s a bit on the quiet side at first, he settles in nicely and seems to enjoy calm companionship. Sam does well in playgroups with other dogs his size and is a regular in our play sessions. He’s not demanding or overly busy - just a sweet, low‑key pup who seems happy to be included and cared for. Sam Rushmore would likely do best in a loving home that appreciates a quieter dog who still enjoys social time and routine. If you’re looking for a small companion who is easygoing, polite, and ready to bond at his own pace, Sam may be the perfect match. He would need dog meets with any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. He also had a dental.
