Sadie is a 4 lb, 10 yr old Yorkie mix who needs rehoming. She was left with me after I just agreed to take care of her for several days. I have now invested a lot of time and love to transition her to be ready for a new home (she had lived with her previous family for most of her 10 years). She needs to be in a house where she is the only dog due to being picked on by larger dogs in the past (After 6 weeks, she is still acting aggressively towards my small dog who is very passive). She is housebroken but needs a pee-pee pad down or else she will pee on mats... She loves walks or just running around outside in an enclosed space. She enjoys lots of attention and her newfound love is playing with squeaky toys that are made for her petite-sized mouth. When I first got her, she didn't seem to know what toys were for. She does okay being left alone, but loves to be showered with love upon your return. She comes with toys, harness, leash, pee-pee pads, and lots of clothing...

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Well can I just say I LOVE the ranch!! My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!! The authorities finally came and got us all!! Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!! My best friend is Layla. She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again. The volunteers are really nice. They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to! Mom says she is going to attach some pics of where we lived but I am happy to forget all about that and enjoy life. I weighed in at 8.12 lbs and came into rescue due to my mom having health issues. I am a healthy girl and finished my vetting a bit ago, but have been working on my emotional healing that will be an ongoing process. I am crate trained and house trained. (With the exception of when I get scared. I do leak pee) I‘m learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is a must. I love to go on car rides, love other dogs, and to play with toys. I do love to be cuddled but, on my terms, and when I want. If you come at me too quickly, I tinkle. My foster mom is always asking what happened to make me so scared, and I just look at her and wag my tail. I love toys, especially the ones that squeak. The world is a big scary place for him and we fear he had a traumatic past. He takes comfort in his bed away from activities, but he will wonder out for high quality snacks, and to squeak a toy, with a little more brave exploration each day . Ben really needs a special person that has time to hold him and help him feel comfortable in his own time. He in not a fan of the outdoors, but maybe when it warms up he will venture out more. My mom is Muffin's owner. I am her son. Mom just moved into independent living from a townhouse. Muffin is 14 years old. Dr. Mimnaugh is her vet. We hoped that the move would work for Muffin and Mom but the challenge of taking Muffin out for walks and bathroom breaks up and down steps and long hallways is too much. Muffin is a sweet, peaceful , aging dog but has no significant problems. It is hard for my Mom to make this decision but is in the best interest of both Mom and Muffin. I am available for questions.
