Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well can I just say I LOVE the ranch!! My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!! The authorities finally came and got us all!! Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!! My best friend is Layla. She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again. The volunteers are really nice. They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to! He has a cute wiry mane around his neck that makes him unique! He’s a spunky little boy that also loves to cuddle. He is house trained but you can always expect some accidents when a dog is adjusting to a new home. Poor Kobe did not learn any manners in his previous home so he needs some patience. He would benefit from an obedience class or training at home. Kobe likes to guard his food, toys and person therefore he would probably do best as an only dog or a dog companion that is more submissive. He does enjoy playing with other dogs but don't try to steal his toy! He is currently working on taking treats nicely. He loves food and is tempted to grab it right out of your hand. The best thing about Kobe is he loves to snuggle beside you, on your lap or under a blanket. he will quietly sleep in his crate at night time but I’m sure he would love to snuggle in bed with you too. Kobe is a sweet boy who would love a home with someone to call his own cuddle buddyIntake Day:My daddy died :( He was 90. I'm only 3 soooo I am loving that I get to run around A LOT and have furry buddies to play with!!! There's this field that we all get to run in and play with balls and such and its great fun and there are lots of different humans that come to play with us :)Momma Lynn says I need my family jewels off, not sure what that means but no one sounded to upset about it so I'm thinking I won't miss them. Michael said its a piece of cake I just take a nap and when I wake up my family jewels are gone. My previous family could no longer care for me sothey asked the kind people at ARI if they could help find me a new home.Everyone at ARI loves me! 🐾Meet Sienna🐾 Sienna is a 3 year old Yorkie who was surrender to Zoe’s House with her one eye in pretty bad shape and her skin a hot mess 😔. Our vet quickly assessed the situation and removed her eye which was causing her lots of pain. She received a much needed hair cut and medicated bath for her skin. When you see the before and after pictures it’s hard to believe they are the same dog. She is a shy girl and still unsure of people, fast movements and loud sounds. But she has come a long way in a very short amount of time. She enjoys playing with toys and the other dogs in her foster home. She has also been around one kitty and has been good. She is also very food motivated. She is good with being picked up and will sit with you for pets and snuggles. She also really enjoys sleeping in her foster parent’s bed with her people or the other dogs. Sienna is not a fan of being crated or kept in an open pen when no one is home. She does well being gated in the kitchen and dinning room where she has plenty of beds and toys. She spends most of her time sleeping in one of the beds. She is UTD on vaccines, altered, and on preventatives. Her eye is all healed up and looks great. Her skin also looks a thousand times better. She is on a salmon based diet as we think she might have an allergy to chicken. Sienna’s forever home would ideally be a calmer house with no young children. A home with a fully fenced in yard, she does not like being on a leash. And possibly a home with another calm dog to keep helping Sienna come out of her shell and learn what being a dog can be like. Calling all Yorkie lovers! Check out this adorable boy. Yardley is 10 months old and already vaccinated and neutered. Yardley came to Zoe’s House from a commercial breeder when he didn’t “sell”. Yardley is a very sweet and playful puppy. He loves to dance on his back legs to get your attention and affection. It is absolutely adorable. He has learned the routine very well in his foster home and is making good with housebreaking. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He is just around 10 pounds currently and would do best with another dog in the home, no bigger than 25-30 pounds. Yardley is crate trained and sleeps/eats in his crate. He definitely needs a fully fenced in yard that goes completely to the ground as he is a zippy little guy and can easily squeeze through tiny spaces. Yardley is being fostered in Schuylkill County so any potential adopters will have to travel to meet him.
