Gummy Worm is an adorable senior that came to us as a stray. Though we don't have information on his past, one thing is for sure, he's as sweet as your favorite gummy candy! He'd love nothing more than to curl up on your couch and maybe take a nice walk here and there. This laid-back gent is ready to spend his golden years with you! 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #: 3537

Story
Sadie is a 4 lb, 10 yr old Yorkie mix who needs rehoming. She was left with me after I just agreed to take care of her for several days. I have now invested a lot of time and love to transition her to be ready for a new home (she had lived with her previous family for most of her 10 years). She needs to be in a house where she is the only animal due to being picked on by larger dogs in the past (It took her 3 months to not be aggressive towards my small dog who is very passive). She is housebroken but needs a pee-pee pad down or else she will pee on mats... She loves walks. And she loves Greenies and playing with her squeaky toys. She thrives off of attention and can get aggressive towards another dog when jealous- charging, nipping the air close to the other dog's face... She does okay being left alone, no separation anxiety issues. She comes with toys, harness, leash, pee-pee pads, and lots of clothing...

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Gigi is a spirited, affectionate dog who loves being held and showered with attention. She has endless energy and absolutely loves playing with other dogs and running freely. Everyone who meets Gigi falls in love with her sweet, loving personality. She seems to be good with cats and would thrive in a home with another playful canine companion. She also needs a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and enjoy her energetic lifestyle. REQUIREMENTS: MUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOG, MUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Current Location: Stevensville, MD Hello! My name is Nami! I've just arrived at OPH. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! "This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics"
