Story
Karlee is a sweet and sassy 4-year-old Yorkie who knows exactly how to steal hearts. Fully housebroken and crate trained (though she’ll happily remind you she’s a princess when asked to use it), Karlee loves curling up in bed with her foster parents or lounging on the couch, which she considers her royal throne. She enjoys going for walks, especially when the weather is warm, but prefers shorter strolls in the winter since the cold isn’t her style. Karlee is wonderfully social and gets along with dogs, cats, and kids who understand how to respect her space. True to her Yorkie nature, she bonds deeply with her chosen person and will shower them with loyalty, while the rest of the household becomes her royal court. While in the care of Zoe’s House, Karlee had non-cancerous tumors removed from her ears. She has recovered well, but potential adopters should be aware that there is a chance these growths could return in the future and may require monitoring or treatment. Karlee is spayed, up to date on shots, and ready to move into her forever castle. Because of food allergies, she thrives on lamb or salmon diets and insists her kibble be mixed with wet food—otherwise she’ll turn up her nose like the princess she is. With her sparkling personality, affectionate nature, and love for cozy cuddles, Karlee is ready to reign supreme in a home that will pamper her the way she deserves. Karlee is currently being fostered in Columbia, Lancaster County PA. Interested adopters must be willing to travel for potential meet and greets. Story
Meet Lily. Lily came to us as a retired breeder dog from a commercial kennel. She is a Yorkie and weighs about 6 lbs. Lily turns 4 years old in July 2025. She is more on the shy side but she is learning how to be loved in her foster home. Lily will need a home with a securely fenced yard and another small dog to help her learn how great living in a home can be. Lily gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home. Lily is not housebroken. She is not leash trained. She is now spayed and had a dental cleaning. Sadly her teeth were so bad that all but one had to be removed so she will have to stay on soft food. Lily is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She is working on housebreaking and crate training in her foster home but her adopter will need to continue to work on it. Her adoption fee is $450.00. If you are interested in adopting Lily, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Meet Ginger. Ginger came to us after her owner passed away. She was in a home with many other dogs, cats and even pot belly pigs. Ginger is scared of new people at first, but she does like to cuddle once she gets to know you. She does seem to like men faster then women and will cuddle with them first. Ginger does like to be with other small dogs so a home with another small friendly dog is a must for her. She does not walk on a leash so will need a securely fenced yard to go potty and then follow another dog back into the home. Ginger will need a very calm and patient home. She needs someone with experience working with scared dogs. Ginger has come a long way in her foster home but would snap and bite if you cornered her when she first came to us. Now she comes up and sits on her foster's lap to sleep and cuddle. She is not housebroken. We don't know exactly what she is mixed with, her hair does seem like Yorkie and she is an adult, we think at least 5 years old. She weighs about 9 lbs. Ginger came to us spayed, but she was in desperate need of a dental cleaning so she just had that done and her vaccines are now all up to date. She is microchipped and tested negative for heartworm and was started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $50.00. Because she does get scared easily we are not recommending a home with children for Ginger. If you are interested in adopting Ginger,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Peanut is an 8½‑year‑old, 6‑pound Yorkie‑Poo with a heart as soft as her curls and a story that will make you want to scoop her right into your arms. This tiny lady has now lost two families to cancer—first her beloved owner, and now the dear friend who stepped in to care for her until her own diagnosis made it impossible to keep going. Through it all, Peanut has been deeply loved, cherished, and absolutely spoiled… and she deserves nothing less. Peanut is every bit the princess her past families made her. She adores being doted on, thrives on affection, and loves being part of the action. She has gone everywhere with her people - on errands, to outdoor events, on trips, to dog‑friendly restaurants. She’s the perfect travel buddy: polite, portable, and endlessly charming. She’s also done well with other dogs and has been wonderful with kids, making her a great fit for many types of homes. Her gentle nature and eagerness to bond shine through the moment she meets you. Peanut is looking for a new family who will continue what her past families started: loving her fully, spoiling her often, and giving her a home where she can finally settle in without another goodbye. If you’re searching for a tiny companion with a huge capacity for love, Peanut is ready to make your life sweeter than ever. She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. She is also scheduled for a dental. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $500. Story
Pete is a special little Philly mix who has mastered the art of surprising everyone he meets. At just 18 pounds and with the scruffy charm of an oversized Yorkie, he was found as a stray and brought to ACCT Philly. We pulled him immediately after seeing he was listed as 16 years old — we simply couldn’t stand the thought of a senior boy spending his days in a loud, stressful shelter. Well, Pete had other plans. Once in our care and after a full medical evaluation, it became clear he had fooled us all. This sweet gentleman is actually closer to 8–10 years old and had simply been hiding behind a very neglected dental situation. Now that his dental work has been taken care of, he’s feeling so much better and showing his true self. Pete is gentle, quiet, and incredibly sweet. He has a soft, soulful presence and an easygoing nature that makes him wonderful to be around. He enjoys calm companionship, warm beds, and the kind of peaceful household where he can finally enjoy the comfort he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a small, scruffy, loving companion with a heart of gold, Pete may be the perfect match. He’s ready for a home that will cherish him — this time, for good. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, 4dx tested. He also had a dental. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com His adoption fee is $500. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Coco Chanel is available for adoption. She is 4 years old and weighs 9.7 lbs. Her adoption fee is $700.00. My name is Coco Chanel. I came into the care of SAYR on Saturday November 8th from a caring family in NY that could know longer look after me. I am now staying with Lori & Mitch in NJ. Even though I have a lot of energy, being only 4 years and 7 months, I was on my best behavior in the car going to NJ. I was a little nervous the first day but I quickly got very comfortable. I'm still learning the ropes on a few things. I heard that I will be going for a check up at the Vet this coming Tuesday and I plan on greeting the doctor with a lot of barking - sometimes I just cannot help myself when I see someone, except for Mitch. I like to shadow him. I'll let you know how the doctors visit goes. Oh, and one other thing, I think someone bought me a gift. I'm not sure but it could be a winter coat with a CC symbol on it. See you all next time. Coco (CC)Coco Chanel is staying with Mitch and Lori in Princeton Junction, NJ.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 28, 2025, 2:00 am

Story
My sweet Linnie 💗 Linnie is a 10 year old Maltese little lady who was time stamped at ACCT Philly. Her owners surrendered her to the shelter because it was obvious by her breath that she needed a dental and they said they could not afford it. The team at Zoe’s House, with the help of our wonderful community, got her free of the euthanasia list and into a loving foster home. She was determined to have a serious heart murmur but with medication, she was cleared to undergo surgery to be spayed and to have a dental where the diseased teeth were removed. It was also determined that Linnie has some mammary masses, likely from not being spayed early in her life, which are likely cancerous. Her heart and age caution against the prolonged surgery to remove these masses. Linnie is on a daily heart medication and gabapentin for any discomfort. Linnie is unbothered. She is a lady who knows what she likes and what she wants. She enjoys her meals, long naps thereafter and loving in between. She travels fabulously in the car and walks well on a leash. She loves a pup cup 😋She is house trained and cares not for the crate. She doesn’t need it. She is a true lady who is just hoping to enjoy her golden years close by her human. She is being fostered with other small dogs and tolerates respectful interaction but she would love to be the center of your eye and heart. She is a joy❤️ Linnie is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County. A home visit and meet and greet with all residents is part of the application process. She is up to date with vaccines and preventatives. She is microchipped. If you have room in your home and heart for this little lady, apply here >>> zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel license 9117 Reading, PA 19607
