Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! GiGi is one of the sweetest girls ever. She can be a little shy with new people but she warms up quickly. Once she gets comfortable all she wants is attention and to play :) She LOVES playing with other dogs her size and loves running the field. Another dog is a must because that is what GiGi is used to and she loves having a playmate. :) A fenced yard is also a MUST because she has alot of energy and shes used to running freely. She is the most loving girl waiting patiently for her forever home! :) REQUIREMENTS: MUST HAVE ANOTHER SMALL DOG, MUST HAVE A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Say hi to Sambuca or as we call her ‘Sami Girl’! This lil former commercial breeder mama is a 7 year old Yorkie who weighs about 7 lbs. She is a lap loving girl with a shining personality. Her typical day consists of being woken up in bed by her foster siblings, then mad dash outside for a perimeter check of her back yard. She loves to be outside and a fenced yard is her dream so she can carry on her part time job of chasing birds. She has a love of not allowing them to eat their seed. Then back in the house to jump on her pillow on the couch with intervals of chasing the resident cat just because she thinks he is annoying. Breakfast is then served to her to help boost energy needed for next adventure. Back outside to lay on chairs on patio; she requires vitamin D to maintain her beauty. She does acknowledge her foster siblings but only if they are her size. She has no use for any dog that does not fit in a lap. Next up on schedule is cuddles and petting which she will be in your face to make sure you notice her. Another round in yard to do her own business or to be sassy to the mailman. She is learning that to maintain her beauty, brushing is necessary. Regular grooming sessions will keep this girl looking fly. Sami girl is house trained although regression may occur in a new setting. Sami also loves kids who are respectful. She will cuddle with them because she is entitled to their attention. Sami is UTD on all vaccines. Sami had a dental when she came into rescue and sadly all her teeth were removed as they were decayed. A soft food diet is a must which is just fine with this queen as she is a meat lover and chicken is her favorite. If you are looking for the love of your life, Sami is your gal. She deserves all the love you have to share.  Sami is living in Scranton now and potential adopters will have to come for a meet and greet as well as any pup siblings . Sami is microchipped and spayed. She is ready for her next adventure with your family! Apply at: www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel License 9117 Sinking Spring, Pa. 19608

Story
At 8 years old and 10 pounds, Effie has officially retired from her former career as a breeding dog and is fully embracing her new role as Household Activities Supervisor. This spirited, spunky, and confident little Yorkie believes that if you're doing something, she should know about it immediately. Need privacy? Effie respectfully disagrees. She'll happily follow you from room to room, making sure all household activities meet her approval. When she's feeling playful, Effie loves a good tug-of-war match with her favorite squeaky toys. For independent entertainment, she's proud to show off her impressive bully stick-chewing skills, proof that a few dental extractions won't slow her down. Effie has adapted quickly to life as a cherished companion and is enjoying every minute of it. She walks nicely on a leash and carries herself with the confidence of a dog at least ten times her size. A true social butterfly, Effie loves people and enjoys meeting new friends. She does well with respectful, gentle children of all ages and gets along nicely with calm dogs. While she hasn't been tested with cats, she would likely thrive either as an only dog or in a home where she can share the spotlight with a laid-back canine companion. Above all, Effie loves being the center of attention. Effie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She recently had a dental procedure that included several extractions, so she eats kibble softened with water and topped with a small spoonful of wet food. She is housebroken when kept on a consistent schedule and is highly motivated by treats. Although the crate isn't her favorite place, she'll tolerate it when needed. As a Yorkie, she'll also require regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. If you're looking for a pint-sized boss, a devoted shadow, and a companion who will keep life entertaining, Effie is ready to take over your heart and your couch!
