Story
Meet Heukgom Heukgom is a gentle, sweet puppy with a soft heart and a thoughtful personality.   Basic Info • Age: 4 months • Sex: Male • Neutered: Not yet • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 7.3 kg • Height: 38 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Heukgom was born to a Husky-mix mother who lived as an outdoor yard dog. He is from the same litter as Choco, Aru, Cream (already adopted), Baekseol, and Heukgom—all siblings born together.   ‍‍ People Socialization Heukgom is very affectionate and friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar people. He especially loves men and approaches people happily for pets and cuddles. He does wonderfully with children under 13 and is comfortable being gently held. Even with people he has just met, he often shows his belly and relaxes easily.   Dog Socialization Heukgom greets and tries to play with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. He is most comfortable with dogs his own size or smaller, while larger dogs can still feel intimidating for him—especially high-energy ones. When dogs are around without people, he may hide from larger dogs, but when a trusted person is nearby, he often gathers courage and tries again, sometimes hiding between legs for reassurance. He is a sensitive and thoughtful puppy who gains confidence with support.   Cats He has lived in the same home with a cat for about one month.   Energy Level Like most puppies, Heukgom enjoys energetic playtime and then settles down quickly when tired. He needs appropriate daily activity to help him rest well.   ‍ Walks Heukgom is still new to leash walks. He tends to pull toward directions he wants to explore and focuses more on sniffing than steady walking. Because walks are still unfamiliar, he may bark at passing sights—likely a mix of curiosity and nervousness. With experience and patience, this will improve.   Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Food-motivated and eager—still learning to wait politely • Whines briefly in a crate but settles down • Uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty • Not a fan of baths yet, but after brief resistance, he calms and tolerates them • Overall very gentle, mild-mannered personality   Heukgom would do best with a family that can offer patience, reassurance, and gentle guidance as he continues to grow in confidence. He is a truly sweet soul looking for a loving forever home Apply to adopt : https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Aru   Name: Aru Age: 3 months Sex: Female Spayed: No (too young) Breed: Husky × Jindo mix Color: Black & White Weight: 4.9 kg Height: 30 cm (shoulder)   Rescue Story   Aru was born as one of six puppies to a Husky-mix mother who was living as a yard dog in Korea. She has now been safely moved into foster care, where she is receiving her vaccinations and getting ready for her forever home   With People   Aru is very affectionate and friendly. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubs against them, and enjoys being petted. She loves both men and women and is especially great with children under 13. She enjoys being picked up and carried, and often rolls over to show her belly when she’s playing.   With Other Dogs   Aru is very social and loves other dogs of all sizes. She eagerly approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play. Sometimes she can be a little too enthusiastic and doesn’t always realize when another dog needs space, especially with bigger dogs — she is currently living with a large dog and is so fearless that she sometimes gets corrected for being too bold. Overall, she loves dogs and plays well with them.   With Cats   She has not been officially tested with cats yet, but because she is playful and curious, she could do well with a cat who is comfortable with dogs.   Energy Level   Aru has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, but after playtime or walks, she settles nicely and rests calmly.   Leash & Walking   She has just started leash training and is still learning. Right now, she tends to pull and go in the direction she wants, so she will need continued practice and guidance.   At Home   When Aru first arrived, she cried for about a week while adjusting to her new environment, but she is now settled and no longer cries. She may bark when she gets over-excited while playing with other dogs or when she doesn’t get what she wants right away.   She still whines a bit in her crate but eventually falls asleep. If she wakes up and wants to come out, she may cry again. When left alone, she usually just sleeps and can also entertain herself with toys.   She is currently doing both indoor pee-pad potty and outdoor potty training and has been left alone for up to 3–4 hours without issues.   What Makes Aru Special   Aru is a happy, playful, loving puppy who enjoys people, dogs, and life in general. She would do wonderfully in a home that can continue her training, give her regular outdoor time, and let her grow into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Loba!Loba is a happy, impatient, and independent dog with a strong leadership personality! She loves going for walks, playing with other dogs, and basking in the sun. Loba would thrive in a home with a patio where she can relax and soak up the sun. She needs an owner who enjoys walks and would love a home with other dogs to keep her company.Though she was once fearful and abandoned, Loba has grown into a confident and strong-willed dog who knows what she wants. She can be a bit restless and independent, and she enjoys being the leader of the pack. Loba is well-trained in basic commands (sit, stay, come), but she still needs some work on walking together and other advanced tricks. She is not suited for homes with cats, inactive owners, or apartments. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, enjoys being petted, and even leans in for cuddles. He is comfortable with men and is wonderful with children under 13. He allows belly rubs easily and can be gently picked up, even by people he has just met.   Dog Socialization He is friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and loves to greet and play. With time and consistency, this is expected to improve.   Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Food-motivated and eager—still learning patience around meals • Whines briefly when placed in a kennel but calms down quickly • Uses both indoor pee pads and goes potty outdoors   Baekseol is a loving, social, and adaptable puppy who will thrive in a home ready to guide him through puppyhood with patience, structure, and lots of affection Apply to adopt: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Pancake! Pancake and her siblings were born to mama Sugar. Sugar is a wonderful and friendly Retriever mix who has done a great job raising her babies. The pups will be ready to leave their mom around 8 weeks of age so we are getting a head start on finding them great families.  Sugar's pups are large breed puppies. We are awaiting the results of a DNA test but based on looks alone they appear to have Husky, Retriever and possibly Great Pyrenees in their genes. We will update the results of the test as soon as we can. We expect the pups to grow to around 80 lbs.  Dogs with this breed mix are not suitable for apartments and are not suitable for families with very young children or families who are not active. A home with a yard is a must.  The pups will need thorough training and socialization in order to grow up to be good canine citizens. They are being well prepared in their foster home and are handled and socialized daily. Many behavior challenges in adult dogs can be prevented by proper training, handling and socialization as puppies and we are committed to helping these pups find forever families dedicated to helping them grow up well. You can submit an application for the pups via our website savinggreatanimals.org. For larger litters (there are 7 pups available) we set up meet and greets in the order that applications are received. For example, the first applicant has first pick of the litter, second applicant has second pick of the litter etc.  The pups are on a vaccination schedule and will be microchipped and dewormed. They will be spayed/neutered at our cost between 8-12 months of age. This is not negotiable and built into our adoption contract. Their adoption fee is $595 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
