Story
Meet Poncho- The Biggest Goofball! Poncho is a 6-year-old American Bulldog mix who’s making up for lost time — and having so much fun doing it. This 60-pound bundle of joy is white with adorable black spots, and he’s packed with personality, charm, and energy to spare. Since arriving at our shelter, Poncho has discovered the pure magic of kiddie pools, belly rubs, and running full-speed with the zoomies around the yard. He loves every person he meets and greets new friends with enthusiastic wiggles and hopeful eyes. That said, he's still working on some manners — especially his habit of jumping up when he's excited — so he’d do best in a home without small children for now. Poncho has lived his entire life outdoors, so things like crate training and potty training are totally new to him. But don’t worry — this boy is super food- and attention-motivated, and he’s eager to learn. He’s shown no negative reactions to other dogs in passing, and while we haven’t officially dog- or cat-tested him yet, we think his high energy might be a bit overwhelming for feline friends. Poncho’s story is one of survival and new beginnings. He came from C.H.A.I.N.E.D, a Detroit-based organization that provides care to dogs living chained or kenneled outdoors. Poncho lived in an outdoor kennel beside Bobby (another of our adoptable sweethearts), and the two were cared for by C.H.A.I.N.E.D. volunteers who made sure they had hay and heated igloos in the winter. When their former family moved to Mexico and couldn’t take the dogs along, we stepped in to give them a chance at real homes — the kind with couches, toys, love, and a soft place to land. Poncho is now looking for a patient, active home where he can continue learning what it means to be a family dog. He needs someone who can guide him through the basics with consistency and love, and in return, you’ll get endless laughs, devotion, and maybe a wet kiss or two. If you're looking for a dog who will adore you endlessly, make you laugh daily, and fill your home with joy — Poncho is your guy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Poncho, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Poncho's adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care he has received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Bulma is a 3 year old, 70 lb American Bulldog. She is a super happy, very friendly dog. Her friendliness, however, doesn’t necessarily extend to other dogs. She can be a bit of a bully when she thinks she can get away with it. Bulma was raised outside with her brother (who was recently adopted). They had food, water, shelter and love from their human, but they were never allowed to live inside. When their mom became too ill to continue to care for them, she, regrettably, surrendered them to rescue. Bulma is affectionate and energetic. Her foster recommends she be placed in a home where she can be an only dog and get plenty of exercise. Her original human reported that she also had a cat that frequently spent time behind the fence with the dogs, but this hasn’t been tested and verified since entering rescue. Bulma hasn’t been tested with children but we have no reason to think she would be anything other than her sweet, friendly self. She might be a little much for very small children, since she is not bashful about showing love (just like every other Bulldog we’ve ever met). She needs some training to learn her doggy manners and she is very eager to please. She will be tons of fun, laughs, and kisses on day one! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Story
Brohm has a cleft palate, but it doesn't slow him down, he can do very well self-feeding. He loves treats of all kinds. Brohm is a sweet, loving bully. He prefers to be in your vicinity where he lays down and waits for you to move to the next room. If you are on the couch he wants to be on your lap. He loves to go on walks, but doesn't have to go far before he is tired out. He wants to greet everyone he meets. He gets along with some other dogs and cats seem not to concern him (a meet and greet is definitely necessary). He loves car rides too and chasing balls.
