Georgie, our friend from @Valentine's Second Chance Animal Rescue, adores being with people. It doesn't matter what you're doing-- reading a book, working, going for a walk, puttering in the yard--being with you will bring Georgie joy. How wonderful is it that just spending time with you can make this lovely, precious boy so darned happy? You see, Georgie came from a shelter in Kansas where too many dogs don't make it out alive. But Georgie was lucky and he seems genuinely grateful to be here, with people who want to be with him. Now we're on a mission to find the people who will give Georgie the gift of companionship, of love, of a HOME. That's where you come in! We need you to share Georgie's story and help him find a home for the holidays. Please share to help this guy find a home! Georgie is about three years old and weighs 65 pounds. He is an excellent snuggle buddy who will take every opportunity to sneak in a kiss when you're least expecting it. He is getting better about walking on leash but can still get distracted at times (no doubt stopping to smell the roses), and likes going for rides in the car. Georgie likes most other dogs, too! Very good boy Tennessee, our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services, was one of the first dogs at the new Raytown Dog Park yesterday, and he was amazing! He did a great job with fence introductions, stayed close by off leash, and had a blast! He has been overlooked for months and has had zero interest. This guy is a fawn/white pit mix and around three years old. He does well with other dogs, has not been cat tested, and is calm and responsive to his people. The amazing staff at Laurel Pet Resort have been working with him on sit and he offers snuggles in return! Rebel was removed with her poodle friends from a neglect situation and is now looking for a loving home. She did require hospitalization for her first few days, but she is doing amazing! She does well with other dogs, loves all people (including kids!), but has not been cat tested. She is still very much a puppy but is doing very well with learning how to walk on a leash, take treats nicely, sit, and shake. 🌸 Meet Lavender! 🌸 Lavender is our sweet 2-year-old pittie mix who gave birth to 9 puppies way back in April. She did an amazing job taking care of and raising those babies, and watched them all go to amazing homes. Her tiny babies are almost 7 months old now, and still, their sweet mama is waiting to find her forever home. Of course, she took some time to work on herself, going to street fairs, short weekend trips, etc. She is ready now to head out and join a family on their adventures! She likes other dogs, can be a little shy around new people, but warms up quickly. She is learning to walk on a leash and does a good job of it, and she loves attention.
