We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting Bear, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.petfinder.com.  Bear is the sweetest lab/pit mix. He’s a shy, lazy big puppy that loves his walks, playing with other dogs, snuggling and sun bathing outside. Bear was abused by his last owner so he’s scared of everyone he firsts meets. Once he warms up to someone he loves to cuddle up next to them while he takes one of his many naps throughout the day. Since Bear suffered so much trauma with his last owner he’s still learning how to be a dog. He mimics his 2 sisters every move. They also are his best friends and safety blankets. Bear would need to be in a home with another dog. He would also do best in a home without a lot of commotion. Due to his previous trauma he’s very skittish of loud noises and a lot of movement.  Bears owners are rehoming him because they are having a baby and have decided that they can't keep him now that they are going to be busy with the baby and having people over often, which is stressful for Bear as it takes him a while to warm up to new people.  Bear is an extremely sweet dog that just needs a little emotional support and patience. He is smart and would benefit from continued training. Bear does great at doggy daycare and would make a great playmate for another dog.May 7, 2024, 10:39 am

Story

This is Sosie, we found her curled up in a ball on the porch of a kids daycare. I brought her back to work (PAWS) with me to scan for a microchip. She had one, and I was able to get in touch with her owner. The owners said they'd come pick her up the following day because of not being able to get off of work before late at night, so I agreed to keep her overnight. After that day my calls were ignored. The owner has never reached back out to me and clearly dumped her on us. However it is their loss because she's a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home with an owner that truly cares for her and her well being. She loves people and loves to cuddle. She has not had one accident inside. She gets a little stressed in the car so I do make sure she's secured while driving or she'll try to get in the driver's lap. She has done well with all the dogs she's met. She also is good with kids. She's really an excellent dog. She needs some leash work, she is a puller and very strong, but she knows basic commands and is eager to learn and just wants to be with people as much as possible. May 7, 2024, 10:39 am

Hello my name is Kong, I am a sweet 3 year old American Bully. I was taken in by my neighbor for a few months after my previous family used me as a breeding tool and abandoned me. I am very sweet and eager to please, especially when there is a milk bone involved! I love other animals, and prefer to be in close proximity with my owner if possible! I currently am living in the garage of my foster parents home, and while I love getting love and attention from him, he unfortunately cannot keep me long, as his dog is somewhat territorial with other male dogs. Im very sweet and lovey and I often lean into people giving hugs and kisses and exposing my belly for tummy rubs! I am quite hefty, but it is not because I overeat, I just am a big built muscular dog even though I’m short! I know I sometimes look scary or have the appearance of other dogs that people fear, but I promise you no one is a stranger to me and I love meeting and playing with new people whenever I get the chance!
