This incredibly sweet girl arrived at the shelter as a stray, but it didn’t take long for everyone to discover what a special soul she truly is. Pudge has become a beloved helper in our adoption office, where her gentle, loving personality shines every single day. She has made huge progress during her time at the shelter, and watching her confidence grow has been absolutely heartwarming. Whether she’s taking a little stroll, offering some sweet companionship, or making her way across the room with her signature steps and waddle, Pudge has a way of making everyone smile. Pudge does have hip dysplasia, so she will need ongoing pain management to help keep her comfortable and enjoying life. She will also benefit from a low-calorie diet to help maintain a healthy weight and take some extra pressure off her joints. Despite these needs, Pudge doesn’t let anything stop her from being the sweet, affectionate girl she is. And there’s even more to love: Pudge is completely house trained! This wonderful girl has so much love to give and is ready for a family who will cherish her, keep her comfortable, and give her the happy retirement she deserves. Alfred—lovingly called Al or Big Al—is a sweet 10-year-old Bulldog mix who has been through more than any senior dog should. When he arrived, he was sadly underweight and badly neglected. Since coming into our care, Al has been getting tons of TLC behind the scenes, and he is getting healthier, stronger, and happier every day.It didn`t take long for Al to become a staff and volunteer favorite. This big guy absolutely loves attention and is happiest when someone is giving him some love. He also happens to LOVE his snacks and will happily do just about anything for a tasty treat!Al doesn`t ask for much from life. He wants a warm, comfortable bed, a kind hand, a peaceful home, and plenty of love. Of course, he`d also like us to mention that treats are very important to his happiness. Al may do well with other dogs, and we are happy to arrange a meet-and-greet with any potential canine sibling. Venus was rescued back in October. Her first week in rescue was 24/7 hospital care on IV liquids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Her diagnosis included several broken ribs (likely from humans kicking her). We have a strong inkling that Venus somehow escaped from the life of a bait dog for dog fighting which sadly is commonplace in our state. She was very thin, every bone in her body was protruding and she had very infected abcesses all over her body from bite wounds. She had heartworms and has completed the full treatment. She has made a complete recovery and is ready to be a part of a family, something she has never had before! She does not get along with other dogs. Cats aren’t her thing either, but she makes up for it with loyalty, affection, and the sweetest temperament. Venus is ready to brighten someone’s world. Could it be yours? She is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Violet is a loving, people-oriented pup who came from Philly ACCT in July 2024 and has been an absolute cuddle bug ever since. She adores being close to her humans – her favorite things are going for walks and then curling up on your lap to relax. Unfortunately, Violet and my resident dog aren’t able to get along, so with a heavy heart I’m looking for a new home where Violet can truly thrive. Violet would do best in: A home where she is the only dog, With someone who loves hugs & snuggles, and has gentle structure, A person or family who enjoys spending time together. Story

Dog was left behind and never got in touch with an owner. She’s very very energetic but roughly two years old I would say. Playful with other dogs as far as I have seen. She chews on quite a bit and does not really prefer all her many chewing toys unless you interact with her with her toys. We let her roam but don’t prefer her on furniture so keep her in her cage. Won’t roam if someone is present and will stay in her general area. Sneaky in other words. But she’s sweet and good overall.
