Story
Bryn is two years old and 75 lbs.  She  is a super sweet wiggly butt girl.   She is looking for a new home.  She would love a yard to run around in and even go for some walks.   She does ok on a leash but does pull so a little work on the leash would be helpful. She lives in a home with a 5 year old golden doodle and is good with her, but Bryn loves to play and the other dog does not want to play as much. She has never been around cats.   She has lived with kids between 12-14 and older.  Never around small kids.  She is full of energy and doesn’t realize her strength so little kids may not be a good idea.  She loves the car.  She is housebroken but crated during the day.  . She sleeps in bed at night since she loves to snuggle.  She does love her crate tho.  It’s a huge crate because she’s a big girl.  She loves chewing on bones & toys. She has gone to doggie daycare before and does great in the kennel when she needed to go there.  She is a very sweet and loving girl.   If you want to meet her, fill out an application on our website, bcaaofnj.orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Meet Thor! Thor is a playful and friendly pitbull mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Thor loves to play and make friends with new people and shower them with kisses. He doesn't realize he's a large dog and still thinks he can fit in people's laps! Thor was found with another stray dog, named Silk, and he also appeared friendly during a dog meet at the shelter, so he would love a new home with other pups, but he does not appear to be a fan of cats. Thor has met kids of all ages, even babies, and was very sweet and calm around them however he has shown when in the home he will guard who he deems his person, so Thor is listed as no kids. Thor is ready to find his fur-ever home, so come meet him at the shelter today!

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Age:2.75 Weight: 95 Location: Doylestown Nicknames: Buddy Good with other dogs?: Yes. Buster has done well with meet and greets and does well with his foster sister. Good with cats? other: Buster has had no problem with his foster kitty sister who is very dog savvy. He would not be appropriate for a limited mobility animal due to size. Good with children? OK for kids over: 12. Due to his size and limited sight, he would not be suited for children or people with limited mobility. Activity Preference: other: Moderate: Walks and play. Can play off leash in a fenced area after he has had time to learn the layout. IQ: Has some shining moments Buster's favorite things: Being by your side, playing with balls, belly rubs, chewing on his marrow bones, dinner and then being by your side again. Buster is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, other: Playing find it and holding down the sofa. He is also good at navigating the yard and investigating new smells. Ideal home: other: Either as an only dog or with another large laid-back dog who likes to share, a fenced yard and adults who like to play fetch and spend time at home. Training Needs: other: Buster loves training because he gets treats! He follows directions but sometimes he needs a little time to process the command. Buster has made a lot of progress with new sounds. He will still need positive reinforcement when introducing something new like a vacuum. He loves going on walks and has made progress with his pulling especially as he gets use to the new area. Health issues: Buster has very limited vision but is a healthy boy otherwise! Meet Buster Buster is what you love about the American Bulldog Breed. He is a big, sweet lug who wants to be with his people. He is curious and interested in everything you do. He’ll follow sounds in the household to find out what is going on. He is an extremely sweet boy who loves belly rubs and laying on a foot, just to make sure you are still by his side. Buster is a little…talkative but hey, he has to communicate somehow. Buster loves to follow you around the house but is also happy finding a nice soft spot and sleeping off his breakfast. Buster has met many new people and enjoys the interaction. Because of Buster’s size and strength, it is important his family works with him on leash behavior to keep him safe. Although he has improved, he will still dart at sounds, so secure leash handling is a must. Buster is a good boy who would love to have a family who can help him navigate the world and he will be your best friend.   To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Age: 3-4 years Weight: 55lbs Nicknames: Peach, Peaches, Peachy, Princess Peach Location: Willow Grove, PA Good with other dogs: Friendly but wary of other dogs.  Does well walking with other dogs but tries not to interact with them.  Nervous around barking dogs. Good with cats: Yes Good with Children: Unknown, will not be adopted to a home with children. Activity preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time IQ: She’s smart Favorite things: She loves car rides, cuddling and independently playing with toys Things she’s good at: Staying in a crate, going for car rides, cuddling, following commands Ideal home: Handpicked home would have a quiet, low-key environment with a secure fence, one who will continue current training. Training needed: to continue current training she where she works on socialization with people and other dogs, leash work when she is stressed, confidence building. Adopter would be able to complete training sessions with Pecan and her trainer before she goes into a new home. Health issues: Nervousness at times.  She’s on CBD with dinner since she’s more nervous in the evening.   Meet Pecan: Pecan has really become a Peach.  She's come such a long way and is looking to make her next move into a quiet, patient home willing to help her build her confidence.  With the help of some confidence building cues she’s learning how to be a dog again and to move freely around the house instead of hiding in a corner.  She loves traveling and walks very well on a leash, as long as there isn’t anything scary around.  She is more of a morning girl and really enjoys playing and running around early in the day.  She’s doing really well with her cues.  We’re using hand targeting as a recall as well as to help her explore new areas and meet new people.  She has a “let’s go” cue to ask her to move out of an area or to come out of her crate.  She still panics under certain situations but we’re trying not to let her dart back to her crate for safety but rather teaching her how to bring herself out of a panic.  She’s doing well with the “wait” cue and “ok” as a release cue in most of these situations but we sometimes need to use Click to Calm to relax her during high stress situations.  She listens very well to “leave it” if she thinks about playing with something that isn’t hers and is learning to play with toys.  She’s going to be a fun girl to watch as she learns to be a real dog.
