Story
Doug is a young, large, puppy-like dog who would benefit from socialization and training, but who wouldn't? His new home should be experienced with dogs and should have the time and energy to dedicate to Doug's exercise needs and training. Any potential doggie-housemates would require a meet and greet. If you like large breed dogs, Doug is your guy! Hamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Story
Age:6 Weight: 95 Location: Perkasie, PA Nicknames: Hondo Mondo, Da Big Bubba Good with other dogs?: Yes, Other:. Hondo is mostly, indifferent to other dogs. He will want to sniff and check another dog out in the home but will avoid a confrontational dog. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? OK for kids over: 10-12 Activity Preference: Will go with the flow IQ: Average Hondo's favorite things: Hondo really does like to go for walks. One or two a day would be sufficient, and he generally tops out at about 1 mile. One of his favorite things are blankets. He will play, nibble, or just cuddle up with them. Hondo is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, following commands Ideal home: quiet environment, a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with people, socialization with dogs Health issues: Hondo does seem to have some seasonal allergies. But nothing extensive. Meet Hondo Hondo is a wonderfully adorable big-headed bulldog. Unfortunately, he was abused by a man and that overall has affected his trust in men. So, he definitely prefers a female human companion. Hondo needs some time to adjust to new surrounds, but once that adjustment time is over…hold on to your hats! This boy follows his foster mom around like it's his job. Hondo and his foster mom like to go for walks together, they both totally prefer the cooler weather! Once done for the night they cuddle on the couch together. Hondo knows that he's not allowed to be crazy on the couch though, otherwise he gets kicked off and has to lay on the floor. Hondo sits nicely for treats and any food you are willing to part with. He goes into a crate with ease, sometimes preferring to lay in there to chew on a bone while foster mom cooks dinner. He will let you know that he has to go outside, sometimes a little too much. He has no idea how big he is, which is why older children would be better suited. Hondo is ALL BULLDOG. Goofy, silly, stubborn, hardheaded (figuratively and literally) but most importantly, loving. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.  Dog: Parkland Age: 3 years old, estimated dob: 6/12/2021 Weight: 60 lbs Location: Bucks County, PA Nicknames: Mr. Parkland, Parker, Parks Good with other dogs?: Yes, does well with most dogs. He doesn't really interact with them as much as lives side by side with them. He has been overbearing and rude when meeting a new dog recently.  He would probably enjoy being an only dog or living with other dogs like him who prefer to just hangout. Good with cats? He lives with cats and when the cat runs away he will chase. When the cat tells Parkland how things will be then he runs away from the cat. Good with children? Parkland lives with other children and loves them! Activity Preference: Enjoys walks when the weather is cool enough, exploring the yard, and taking naps. IQ: average Favorite Things: Loves being glued to his humans, going on car rides and walks, running after a ball, taking a nap. Good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, going for walks, taking naps. Ideal home: experience with the breed's personality and health, a fenced yard, opportunity for walks and car rides, and naps. Training Needs: Parkland knows basic commands, he's house and crate trained, excellent in the house alone. Health issues: Lyme disease.  Parkland is asymptomatic.  Should he show symptoms of Lymes (joint pain, fatigue, etc.) he would require a 30 day antibiotic treatment.  Just to be aware that Parkland is brachycephalic. He should be carefully monitored in warmer weather. Meet Parkland: Parkland is everything that you love about the bulldog breed! He is super sweet cutie and a big lovebug.  He cannot be close enough to you. He loves car rides and his favorite spot is touching his head to yours or his head on your shoulder. Parkland will show you all his 'tricks' for a cookie. He likes to sleep in your arms or right next to your head. If you throw a ball he will run after it and sometimes even pick it up. He turns into a professional whiner if it goes under the couch and he needs you to be the one fetching! He's done well meeting almost all other dogs so far. During one recent dog meet, he became overbearing and pushy. He does fine living with his canine housemates who are older and not really into playing or much interaction.  Parkland seems just fine with that. His desired target of attention is humans! He is so happy to be laying right next to or sitting so close to them. Parkland lives with cats and dog-savvy cats would do fine.   Parkland is a quiet, good boy who wins hearts of unsuspecting humans. He must have a superpower in that adorable big noggin because one gaze from those deep, gentle eyes and you are a goner! You'll be buying matching collar and harness sets before you can say - Freedom Harness!  So, if you love and appreciate the stubborn, quirky, silly, lovable, friendly, affectionate, expressive, and loyalty of the bulldog, then don't let Parkland get away! Story
Spencer is a  3 year old Bulldog/Lab mix weighing 75 pounds .  He is housetrained.   We feel Spencer would be best in a  home where he will not be faced with frequent visitors or traffic in the home, He is a lovely companion, extremely loyal, has never shown aggression of any sort towards the current owners and their kids. Spencer is special needs because he has been diagnosed with Addison's disease (controlled with medication) and has behavioral issues.  (posted 6/19/23 R) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience.   Adoption and transport fees: $250 July 19, 2024, 2:14 pm
