Story
Mardi! This very special lady is the one and only Mardi. Mardi, which means Tuesday in French, got her name as she came to our rescue at the end of Mardi Gras season and was a birthday pull for one of our rescue members. That birthday happened to fall on a Tuesday. Mardi has been with us, in foster care, for about 4 weeks and her life has done a 360 in that time. Mardi arrived at a local shelter as a suspected cruelty case. She was very underweight, scoring 1/9 on the dog body condition scale, dehydrated and covered in bite wounds and punctures on her neck, some of which were infected. We immediately took her into our care and got her the proper vet care, some good quality food and lots of TLC and she has just started to shine. Thankfully Mardi is a sweet soul who does not hold any of her former treatment against people. Mardi's foster mom has only the best things to say about her but wanted to share a few of her favorite Mardi qualities: - LOVES people. Everyone. She does not think personal space is really a thing (or maybe it's just that your personal space is also hers) - She gives the best hugs. She manages to somehow shape her body to yours - She snorts, particularly when she is happy. No suprise, she also snores - She loves car rides and is an angel in the car - She loves the yard at her foster home and happily goes outside to potty and roll in the grass on a nice day. She however thinks she shouldn't have to go out in the rain or snow - She is also an angel in the tub for baths and is even cooperative for nail trims Mardi tested well with a lower key dog at the shelter, however she is a bit excited and focused on other dogs so far and given her condition we would like to place her as the only dog for the moment. This may continue to improve over time. Mardi is great in a crate and making progress with housebreaking, however she does have accidents if left too long. She should be crated when not supervised as she definitely is a trash hound and will look for any crumb of food and is fine with knocking everything off a shelf or table to find it. She is an approx 2-3 yr old american bulldog and/or boxer mix and is around 56 lbs now. We are so impressed with how far Mardi has come in the short month she has been in our care. She has gained more than 20% of her body weight in that time and still gets fed several small meals a day on a schedule. Her most recent bloodwork looks good and her xrays show some arthritis in her knees that we are managing with quality food, supplements and regular exercise and she has more pep in her step every day. Mardi's adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations to date and microchipping. She also tested heartworm negative and is up to date on preventatives. She has had basic adult canine bloodwork and regular vet care as she has recovered. Interested? Go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. Whoever adopts Mardi will be the luckiest person.

Story
Hi friends, my name is Libby but you can call me Liberoo, Libbluv, Libby girl, LibLib or whatever you think fits! I am a beautiful brindle girl, about 7 years old, and a 50 lb bundle of love. My favorite things to do include going for walks, snoring on the couch, and getting new squeaky toys. My dream home would be one where I can be the center of attention always, I'm not interested in sharing my affection with other four legged friends. I do also enjoy playing rough so I could really benefit from someone to teach me the ropes of appropriate puppy play. I was originally brought to the ranch from Georgia after I was found as a stray down south. I'm so glad to be here, where I am safe, fed, happy and healthy but every night when they tuck me in I dream of having my own family. If you are looking for an adventure buddy who also loves to snuggle I might be your girl! Please feel free to fill out an application for me or call my friends in the office if you have any more questions. I really hope I can meet some of you soon! Libby's adoption fee is $50 which includes she is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, 4dx tested, on monthly preventions, and dewormed. Our application can be found on our website lastchanceranch.org. Kennel License #4518

Story
Age:6 Weight: 95 Location: Perkasie, PA Nicknames: Hondo Mondo, Da Big Bubba Good with other dogs?: Yes, Other:. Hondo is mostly, indifferent to other dogs. He will want to sniff and check another dog out in the home but will avoid a confrontational dog. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? OK for kids over: 10-12 Activity Preference: Will go with the flow IQ: Average Hondo's favorite things: Hondo really does like to go for walks. One or two a day would be sufficient, and he generally tops out at about 1 mile. One of his favorite things are blankets. He will play, nibble, or just cuddle up with them. Hondo is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, following commands Ideal home: quiet environment, a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with people, socialization with dogs Health issues: Hondo does seem to have some seasonal allergies. But nothing extensive. Meet Hondo Hondo is a wonderfully adorable big-headed bulldog. Unfortunately, he was abused by a man and that overall has affected his trust in men. So, he definitely prefers a female human companion. Hondo needs some time to adjust to new surrounds, but once that adjustment time is over…hold on to your hats! This boy follows his foster mom around like it's his job. Hondo and his foster mom like to go for walks together, they both totally prefer the cooler weather! Once done for the night they cuddle on the couch together. Hondo knows that he's not allowed to be crazy on the couch though, otherwise he gets kicked off and has to lay on the floor. Hondo sits nicely for treats and any food you are willing to part with. He goes into a crate with ease, sometimes preferring to lay in there to chew on a bone while foster mom cooks dinner. He will let you know that he has to go outside, sometimes a little too much. He has no idea how big he is, which is why older children would be better suited. Hondo is ALL BULLDOG. Goofy, silly, stubborn, hardheaded (figuratively and literally) but most importantly, loving. PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
This is our sweet precious Lucy. Lucy had an owner but her owner used to turn her out every day to wander the streets. A friend of the rescue would pick her up when she saw her and bring her home. She feared that Lucy would get hit by a car so one day when she returned her home, she asked the owners if they would surrender her to a rescue. They agreed and Lucy arrived here happy as a clam. She's a big girl, not fat, just a big girl. She's a very gentle big girl, sleeps in my bed with all the little ones sleeping on top of her! She loves children and cats. She was heart worm positive when she arrived but we have cleared all of that up. Lucy maybe a little older at 8 years but she has the energy of a puppy. She loves to play all day with the rest of the shelter dogs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and house broken. She needs her forever home, could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $350
