Story
Mardi! This very special lady is the one and only Mardi. Mardi, which means Tuesday in French, got her name as she came to our rescue at the end of Mardi Gras season and was a birthday pull for one of our rescue members. That birthday happened to fall on a Tuesday. Mardi has been with us, in foster care, for about 4 weeks and her life has done a 360 in that time. Mardi arrived at a local shelter as a suspected cruelty case. She was very underweight, scoring 1/9 on the dog body condition scale, dehydrated and covered in bite wounds and punctures on her neck, some of which were infected. We immediately took her into our care and got her the proper vet care, some good quality food and lots of TLC and she has just started to shine. Thankfully Mardi is a sweet soul who does not hold any of her former treatment against people. Mardi's foster mom has only the best things to say about her but wanted to share a few of her favorite Mardi qualities: - LOVES people. Everyone. She does not think personal space is really a thing (or maybe it's just that your personal space is also hers) - She gives the best hugs. She manages to somehow shape her body to yours - She snorts, particularly when she is happy. No suprise, she also snores - She loves car rides and is an angel in the car - She loves the yard at her foster home and happily goes outside to potty and roll in the grass on a nice day. She however thinks she shouldn't have to go out in the rain or snow - She is also an angel in the tub for baths and is even cooperative for nail trims Mardi tested well with a lower key dog at the shelter, however she is a bit excited and focused on other dogs so far and given her condition we would like to place her as the only dog for the moment. This may continue to improve over time. Mardi is great in a crate and making progress with housebreaking, however she does have accidents if left too long. She should be crated when not supervised as she definitely is a trash hound and will look for any crumb of food and is fine with knocking everything off a shelf or table to find it. She is an approx 2-3 yr old american bulldog and/or boxer mix and is around 56 lbs now. We are so impressed with how far Mardi has come in the short month she has been in our care. She has gained more than 20% of her body weight in that time and still gets fed several small meals a day on a schedule. Her most recent bloodwork looks good and her xrays show some arthritis in her knees that we are managing with quality food, supplements and regular exercise and she has more pep in her step every day. Mardi's adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations to date and microchipping. She also tested heartworm negative and is up to date on preventatives. She has had basic adult canine bloodwork and regular vet care as she has recovered. Interested? Go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. Whoever adopts Mardi will be the luckiest person.

Rapunzel is a sweet and friendly loveable bully! She is obsessed with people and loves them all, big and small. She doesn't feel the same way about sharing her home with other dogs though. She would really prefer to be the only pet. But with how cute and squishable she is, we don't think you're going to need any other dogs!

Story
Hi friends, my name is Libby but you can call me Liberoo, Libbluv, Libby girl, LibLib or whatever you think fits! I am a beautiful brindle girl, about 7 years old, and a 50 lb bundle of love. My favorite things to do include going for walks, snoring on the couch, and getting new squeaky toys. My dream home would be one where I can be the center of attention always, I'm not interested in sharing my affection with other four legged friends. I do also enjoy playing rough so I could really benefit from someone to teach me the ropes of appropriate puppy play. I was originally brought to the ranch from Georgia after I was found as a stray down south. I'm so glad to be here, where I am safe, fed, happy and healthy but every night when they tuck me in I dream of having my own family. If you are looking for an adventure buddy who also loves to snuggle I might be your girl! Please feel free to fill out an application for me or call my friends in the office if you have any more questions. I really hope I can meet some of you soon! Libby's adoption fee is $50 which includes she is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, 4dx tested, on monthly preventions, and dewormed. Our application can be found on our website lastchanceranch.org. Kennel License #4518

Story
These puppies were born Oct 20, 2023. They were the result of an unspayed female with an unnuetered male. The owners did not want the litter but did not get the parents fixed so created more unwanted homeless puppies. Will you be their forever home? the males are neutered but the females have not been yet due to a waiting list at the vets to be spayed. (males are easier and quicker to get neutered and didn't have to wait so long). Fees for females is $175. Males $275. UTD on vaccines and deworming. Started on Heartworm preventative. Can be microchipped for an additional $25. family raised and very friendly/happy pups. Mom is a pocket pit and dad a rottweiler. Pictures of parents are available upon request.

Story
Meet Chestnut! This mighty and strong bulldog mix came to us as a stray on 07/15, after being abandoned by his owners. When this handsome boy came to us he was very sad because he was wondering when his owners would come get him but they never did. Fortunately for Chestnut, he is ready for a new lease on life. He would love to be the best friend you never knew you needed and is ready to become the best version of himself. Medically Chestnut came to us as a fifty pound short and stocky boy. During his time with staff on 07/15, they noted that "Chestnut is a possible senior approximately 7 years old, he has a loose tooth and is underweight. Intact male. Dirty ears did not allow me to clean them but is very friendly. Vaccines were given with no muzzle. After this he was assessed again on 07/17 in regards to his teeth. During this exam it was observed that he needed to get his canine extracted. Staff stated "The left canine will need to be removed, but the issue is not emergent. Otherwise, the dog is in overall good condition for a middle aged bulldog! No treatments necessary at this time." Due to this tooth condition and his reactivity, we believe Chestnut will do best with a rescue partner that can rehabilitate him and help him become a happy, healthy dog. Additionally Chestnut has also had positive dog interactions and negative dog interactions since being in our care so, we recommend going to a single dog home due to his selectiveness but, if you are considering adding to your pack we would recommend a very slow introduction. We also think Chestnut could use some time learning socialization and working on manners. If you have any interest in helping Chestnut turn his life around, please come see him at ACCT Philly today. On 7/19 staff noted: "Chestnut, 7 year old bully. I saw him when I first arrived with staff, he was barking at another dog passing in the kennels. They noted him to be a typical bully (mouthy, jumpy, humpy yanno). I didn't experience any of that, but he does try to mount other pups. He would do best with a dog savvy foster due to the mounting of other dogs and potential for humans. He could be removed without issue but I anticipate it will take some time to settle in past the humping lol. He took corrections from other dogs without issue. When he wasn't trying to mount other dogs he was a fine coexister. Low energy, mellow and sweet. He comes off stiff and dumb but just him. Boy needs a neuter.Chestnut walked well on leash (some pulling but he's all muscle), house trained and decent kennel presence. He took correction by the husky as well when he tried to hump her. On 7/16 staff noted: "He would chase tennis balls but not grab them. On 7/16 staff noted: "I ran around the run and Chestnut would chase me. When he was close to me he would jump up and mount my leg. He also would put my forearm in his mouth. He doesn't have many teeth so it wasn't painful, but he was definitely getting nippy On 7/16 staff noted: "Chestnut came to me unprompted soliciting attention by sitting between my legs. He allowed all over handling including his ears and tail. However when I stopped petting him, he would get very jumpy. This would stop when I pet him again and start back up whenever I ignored him. On 7/16 staff noted: "Chestnut barks and growls at other dogs. On 7/16 staff noted: "Chestnut was standing at the front of his kennel with soft eyes, a wagging tail, and a loose body. He allowed me to leash him easily. He will get back into the kennel on his own. On 7/16 staff noted: "Chestnut was very friendly with the reporting party as well as the Philly PD officer. He was very friendly and loving with all the staff members. Due to his strength and lack of manners we would recommend an adult - only household for Chestnut. On 7/15 staff noted: "No kids and general behavior waiver added due to jumping, mounting, and mouthing.
