Story
Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.  Age: Almost 2 his DOB is 8/27/2023 Weight: 80 lbs Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Good with other dogs?: Yes! He loves to play! Good with cats? Yes but he does chase them sometimes so a dog savvy cat. Tyson lives with 3 cats in his foster home. Good with children? Unknown. But Tyson loves everybody! While he probably would do well with kids, he does steal things to chew and a kid's toys, shoes, school bags/books, and sports equipment would be a huge temptation. Activity Preference: Will go with the flow, likes car rides, likes walks, playing with his canine foster sister, naps, no-hides, bones, and stuffies. IQ: He is pretty smart and picks things up quickly. Tyson's favorite things: Tyson loves being with his foster mom and dad and his canine foster sister. He's up for car rides, walks, playing with his canine foster sister, doing anything for a treat, napping next to his humans and dog sister. Tyson is good at: riding in a car, meeting people, getting along with other animals, being a cuddle buddy, following commands, staying in the crate, learning good manners. Ideal home:  a fenced yard, someone who maybe works part-time, another dog who matches his personality and activity, an active home where he will get lots of playtime and walks. Training Needs: Tyson is still learning commands (basic things like how not to counter surf or get into the trash). Health issues: Tyson is heartworm, lymes and anaplasmosis positive. His heartworm will be treated before he goes home. The lymes and anaplasmosis was treated with antibiotics. There is nothing more to actively treat for those. We suspect he has an allergy we are awaiting allergy test results. Meet Tyson: Tyson is a young boy has had quite the journey for being so young.  His first owner passed away, his second owner had legal troubles and left him alone in the home. Fortunately, a kind neighbor, his third owner, noticed and would go over and feed Tyson and let him out.  Eventually, he moved Tyson into his home but unfortunately, the resident dog didn't want Tyson there and was awful to him. So, he was put into the garage and we were contacted. Tyson arrived after a very long trip.  He was immediately friendly with tail wagging.  He's a goofy, sweetie who will have you laughing. He is a happy boy who loves playing and having fun just as much as he likes laying next to his humans and canine sister!  Tyson greets anyone who comes into his foster home as a friend! He lives with 3 cats who he ignores sometimes and chases others.  Tyson shares his foster home with Winnie (also adoptable) and they are besties! Tyson would do best where he is not alone for a full long work day every day of the week, a canine companion, a fenced yard, and lots of opportunity for mental and physical activity. Story
Age:2 Weight: 65 Location: Southern MD Nicknames: Spaghett! Good with other dogs?: Yes. Spaghetti is so sweet with a sassy streak. She is a typical female bulldog and wants to be in charge. She frequently uses her body to push her much larger foster brother out of the way. She steals her foster brother's toys directly from his mouth and will not be left out if there are pets or cuddling to be had. Her foster brother graciously gives into her demands to be the center of attention. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? OK for kids over: 10 Activity Preference: Champion couch potato IQ: Smart Spaghetti's favorite things: She would love a forever home that is stocked with antlers, balls, sticks, grass patches for rolling, and a good spot for sunbathing. Spaghetti is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, cuddling, playing Ideal home: other: at least one human female Training Needs: socialization with people, needs obedience training Health issues: Partially torn CCL and luxating patellas. Spaghetti is on medical hold until her lameness issues are resolved. Meet Spaghetti Are you ready, Spaghetti? Spaghetti is so ready for her forever home but has to wait a bit longer. Poor girl was seized by animal control at 8 months old from an unscrupulous breeder along with 16 other dogs. She waited in the shelter for 7 months until the courts determined not to return her to the breeder. Spaghetti has the sweetest, most lovable personality but lost out on crucial socialization opportunities while in the shelter. As a result, she warms up to new people quickly but can be nervous around men and is very suspicious when people wear masks or hats. Spaghetti has partially torn cranial cruciate ligaments in both back legs. Her mobility is significantly impacted by this and limps frequently. Spaghetti has received several rounds of injections in the hopes we could avoid surgery, but unfortunately she has not improved. Once Spaghetti is fully recovered she will be available for adoption. Spaghetti has been to numerous vets because of her legs. Despite being in pain, she is a wonderful patient and perfect during exams. Everyone LOVES her and she is frequently whisked away by techs for extra love. She's the best girl! Spaghetti's favorite things are cuddles and being held like a baby. She is a velcro pup that always wants to be near her people. She is crate trained and does well when left alone. She is a total hammy and loves to be the center of attention. She also loves a good chew, wrestling with her foster bro, rolling in the grass, and being nosey. She will absolutely steal your heart. Ideal home: quiet environment, someone at home most of the day, Lots of exercise opportunities Training Needs: needs obedience training Health issues: Was diagnosed with hip dysplasia via x-ray yet she shows no sign of it and runs jumps and plays. I give her supplements, and she hasn't had an episode in months. Meet Amega Amega is a very passionate American Bulldog who is very protective of who she loves. She has a dominant personality and comes from a well-known American Bulldog pedigree. She was purchased from Greatlakes Bulldogs in Albany New York. Unfortunately, with her dominant demeanor and my two-year-old grandchild's playful nature. I am not fully comfortable when they interact. Although she is tolerant of him and avoids him at times, I don't want to put her in an environment where her prey nature causes, he to respond and hurt him.  This is a courtesy post.   PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application.
