Story
Hi, I'm Tank! I'm a big softie, despite my tough-sounding name. I'm the perfect companion for those cozy nights in, always ready to snuggle up on the couch. I'm also great at making people smile, my sweetness is just infectious! I'm a good listener, too. You can tell me all about your day, and I'll just wag my tail in understanding. I do have a little quirk though - I'm quite protective over my food. But hey, who isn't a little protective over their favorite things? I'm just waiting for my forever home where I can share all this sweetness and warmth. Adopting me means gaining a loyal, loving friend who will always be there to brighten up your day. Why not let me bring some joy into your life?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Jessica (jessicawalton.jw@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Hi, I am Betty! I am a spunky, sassy and full of life little peanut! I am a microbully, but have a huge heart. I love kids. I do not love cats, but I am other dog selective. Sometimes I meet dogs and love them and other times I do not feel the same. I was found abandoned at a stop sign in New Cumberland covered in bite wounds. I was actually taken to SHORES by a good Samaritan and the Manager of Castaway Critters happened to be there with another dog and then agreed to take me home! My foster Mom believes I was used as a bait dog.  I get an extreme case of the wiggle butt when I am happy. I love to watch other kids, and I love to eat snacks! Play time is my favorite. Sometimes when my foster Mom isn't looking, I will sneak a cat toy. When I get worked up, I make a silly noise that sounds like a gremlin. I like to talk and tell you exactly how I feel! I also love to go for a ride in the car! My perfect home would be with someone who understands that I have short little legs and cannot sustain long walks or hikes. I do love to lay with my human, get my belly rubbed and just be with you no matter what.  I will be available after a successful spay surgery. I am up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Could I be your furever buddy? Please apply for me at www.castawaycritters.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 9, 2026, 11:52 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Hopper is a 1-year old English bulldog who has never met a stranger. He is great with other dogs, cats and horses. Like all baby bulldogs he has BIG puppy energy and then collapses in a heap of snores and farts. He has that Little Brother vibe. His favorite is an endless game of tug. He is crate trained, housebroken and knows Sit, Stay and Come. He is currently recuperating from his neuter/hernia surgery but will be available to a perfect family soon. Hopper will do best in a busy home with other pets and somebody at home to give him cuddles on demand.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Fozzie Bear is one big boy! He loves to ride in the car. He loads right up the minute you open the door, making sure not to be left behind! He quietly sits in his seat and watches out the window.Fozzie would do best as an only pet, as he is not good with other dogs or cats. He loves people!! While at home you will find this boy lounging around by your back door chewing on a bone. Curled up by your feet while watching tv or laying across your lap pretending to be much smaller than he actually is!!You couldn’t ask for a more faithful buddy than Fozzie. Unknown with kids, as his foster doesn’t have any. He isn’t a big barker, a little more on the quiet side.He weighs 70 lbs. and is about 4 years old. You gotta meet this big ol’ boy!! Located in Houston TX. and can be transported to most states.HIS TRANPORT FEE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY A GENEROUS DONOR.

Oh, those ears! This sweet girl just wants to be in your lap or snuggled up on the couch with you!! She will make a great movie night companion! She has a pretty chill demeanor and would do best as only pet. She adores her humans! She enjoys her soft little bed and her little treats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Chance came to us after sitting/laying on a concrete kennel floor with a "breeder" who didn't know what to do with a puppy that couldn't use his back legs :(  We were contacted and although we typically do not take large dogs we felt the need to help. We had him with 2 different vets both saying he would never walk again, even our medical director did not hold out any hope.  We just knew we had to try so the Director started researching and working on his back legs and then we started using a cold laser wand and a wheel chair and within months Chance went from the chair to what we called "wonky walking" and now he races around the field!!! Chance is a typical bulldog doing what he wants and he is big so making him do anything is definitely not easy LOL.  He has learned the hand signal for sit and he will do it on command because he knows he gets a treat :) He is good with most dogs but we have found he is not fond of shihtzu's.  At the ranch he lives with cats coming in and out and has no interest in them.  Now if they gave him a hard time I'm pretty sure it would be game on! Chance may as he gets old need to revert back to a cart so we are looking for a home with either no stairs or only 1 or 2.   I do not suggest Chance for small children he is WAY to rambuncious and for some reason very fixated on them. If you have the right setup for a dog like Chance please fill out an applicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
