Story
Little Yellowstone ....we call him Stoney for short... was literally seen thrown out of a vehicle. A good Samaritan scooped him up and had him vetted. He has not let any of that phase him. He is affectionate, playful, and an eternal optimist who loves everyone. He has a calm demeanor and loves naptime as much as playtime.

Aly is looking for a new home to live her life out in, where she will be the only dog. For some reason she seems to get jealous with another dog in the home the behavioralist can not seem to figure out why she has become like this in the past 4 months. She is an awesome gal as long as she is the only dog in the house. She has been trained and is house trained, potty trained, crate trained, will sit, and other basic commands, walks well on a leash (passes dogs ok w/treats), a 62lb love bug, a cuddler, loves to go on car rides, plays well by herself in the fenced in yard, loves people and very affectionate. She is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She is also microchipped. If you think she would make a good addition to your family and you have an approved application with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue please reach out to the following email cheriisles@gmail.com and list a little about your family and day to day activities. Story
Introducing May, a resilient and courageous dog who has overcome great adversity in her life. For several months, May found herself wandering the streets, facing the challenges of survival on her own. During this time, she endured a prolapsed vagina, a painful condition that required urgent medical attention. Though people in the neighborhood attempted to help her, her fear and mistrust kept her at a distance. Fortunately, fate intervened when one of our compassionate fosters caught sight of May and recognized the urgency of her situation. With a clever plan involving fries as bait, May was coaxed close enough to be safely captured. Immediately, she was taken to the veterinary clinic, where she underwent surgery to repair her injury. May is now ready for a new chapter in her life, filled with endless love, security, and happiness. If you're searching for a quiet and affectionate canine companion who will steal your heart with a single smile, look no further than May. Come and meet her, and witness the incredible transformation she has undergone. May is waiting with open paws to bring joy and warmth into your life. If May May sounds like she might be the right match for you, or if you want to check out more of our wonderful pets for adoption, please visit ffpets.org to read all about our TN-based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and to submit your application The adoption fee is $300 and transport is an additional $200 This pet is currently in a foster home in TN and will be transported north after the adoption is complete. Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 3 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Story
Joan of Barc was dumped on the side of the road in Alabama nearly dead. The vet said she was almost bred to death. She had heart-worms and various other injuries, but she's now HW free, spayed, and healthy! Because of her questionable former life she does not do well with cats, and is currently in training and getting better with dogs each time. She doesn’t know how to interact with them and gets over-excited and makes them uncomfortable. She LOVES humans, big and small. She's been around children and is amazing with all ages. Older kids would be better because she is strong and sometimes forgets her strength. She is house trained and crate trained; and along with her training on how to interact with other dogs, she is learning leash walking and other basic commands. She is very food motivated and extremely smart, picking up new training in no time. She also redirects from stressful situations very easily as long as you have a treat. :) She has an average amount of energy but her favorite pastime is chewing on water bottles and watching TV. She is a very gentle soul and the bestest girl. She was abused in her previous life and deserves to live in luxury the for the rest of it. She needs someone looking for a companion, but it doesn't matter what kind - family, adventure, couch potato- she can do it all. She just enjoys life now that it's not at the end of a chain. She's the bestest, sweetest doll baby and all she needs is a chance. Things she excels at: 🐶 Napping 🐶Snuggling 🐶 Helping with household chores 🐶 Zoomies 🐶Snacking Watch our Facebook video here If Joan would be the perfect addition to your family, please apply💜! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT NORTH TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
