Story
Mia is an American bully, French bulldog, Shih Tzu mix that weighs about 30lbs currently and was born October 24th of 2023. She is very sweet and loving and is very playful. She plays well with other dogs and with small children. She loves her toys and her favorite seem to be stuffed animals. She loves to fetch balls and get belly rubs and head scratches. She is crate trained and understands some commands such as sit, come, go lay down or cage, and down (as in don’t jump on me). She doesn’t get walked on a leash regularly but has done well on one with me. She does best in a harness when walked.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.****COURTESY LISTING**** Meet Aly - an almost 2 1/2 year old American Bulldog/Bloodhound mixed young gal. Aly is looking for a new home to live her life out in, where she will be the only dog. For some reason she seems to get jealous with another dog in the home the behavioralist can not seem to figure out why she has become like this in the past 4 months. She is an awesome gal as long as she is the only dog in the house. She has been trained and is house trained, potty trained, crate trained, will sit, and other basic commands, walks well on a leash (passes dogs ok w/treats), a 62lb love bug, a cuddler, loves to go on car rides, plays well by herself in the fenced in yard, loves people and very affectionate. She is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She is also microchipped. If you think she would make a good addition to your family and you have an approved application with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue please reach out to the following email cheriisles@gmail.com and list a little about your family and day to day activities. She is currently in Parkville, MD If you need to complete an application, go to: HTTPS://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org "Homeward Bound Animal Rescue are licensed and inspected by PA Dept. of Dog Law.  Our license numbers are 4914, 16902 and 16903"Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:24 am

Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 3 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Story
Meet Tiger! This big, goofy teddy bear weighs over 80 pounds of pure love and fun! His brindle coat is absolutely striking, with tiger-like stripes that make him as handsome as he is sweet. And that floppy face? Its impossible not to fall in love with those adorable cheeks and ears! Tiger is the *ultimate* playmatehes a pro at playing ball and loves a good tug-of-war session. Hes smart and knows some commands, but honestly, hed much rather be playing with you than doing anything else! Now, lets talk about his strengththis boy is solid! Tiger has plenty of power in those muscles, and while hes got a ton of energy and enthusiasm, he could definitely benefit from some leash manners. Hes still learning to walk with a little more grace, but with the right training, hell be the perfect walking buddy. This lovable giant has a heart as big as his paws, but he doesnt always realize how big he is. So, a home without small kids would be best (he might accidentally knock them over when hes in full zoomie mode!). We aren't sure how Tiger would do with other animals in the home, so a structured meet and greet for any pets will be required. If youre looking for a playful, snuggly companion with a striking coat, a floppy face, and a whole lot of love to give, Tiger might be your perfect match! Come meet this big ol sweetheart and get ready to fall head over heels! If you are interested in meeting Tiger, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org

Story
Age: 3 years Size: 49 lbs Estimated breed: Bulldog/Pit bull mix Lives with: Dogs, cats, kids Update 2/26: Emi has come leaps and bounds in the last few weeks! She’s now able to stand up, walk, run, and even pull herself up on the couch, all by herself! She’s very wobbly still but we’re confident that physical therapy will help her get back to having the mobility of a normal dog. She has full control over her pottying and will even go to the door when she needs to go out. She’s fostered with several other dogs, a cat, and two young kids, and she does amazing with them all. Emi begins her physical therapy in March and will be spayed in April, after which she’ll be ready to officially join a forever home. She’s also eligible for a foster-to-adopt arrangement for local applicants able to get her to her physical therapy appointments in Hershey, PA.   We received an urgent plea from the shelter about Emi, a sweet girl who was set to be euthanized due to her medical needs and the shelter lacking the resources to properly care for her. We couldn't bear the thought of letting this beautiful soul face death simply because of her disability, so we jumped into action and welcomed her to Nirvana!    Please meet Emi, whose name means "beautiful blessing" in Japanese - a perfect name for a dog who deserves all the blessings in the world. She came into a rural shelter as a stray without the use of her hind legs, dragging herself around on the cold street. Despite this, she maintained a sweet and gentle demeanor, allowing shelter staff and the vet to examine and handle her. Upon arrival in PA to foster care, we discovered she was suffering from a skin infection around her hind end, likely caused by sitting in her own waste for prolonged periods of time. She's been treated with antibiotics and is feeling so much better and clean in foster care!    Emi has already shown improvement in the brief time she's been in our care. She's able to drag herself around quite well and gets her own version of the zoomies, or "scooties," when excited! Her x-rays show extra bone grown in her spinal vertebrae, likely caused in the healing process to some sort of trauma which we assume caused her paralysis. She will see a vet neurologist in the coming weeks to determine a treatment plan and assess if her paralysis is permanent.   Please view our Facebook or Instagram pages for further updates on Emi! She will be looking to join a forever home after we address her medical needs but are accepting adoption applications now.    To adopt Emi, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   PA Kennel License #18366February 26, 2025, 4:18 pm
