Story
Medusa would love to be the QUEEN BEE and be appreciated for the alpha she is. She is an American Bully which is a new designer breed (mislabeled English Bulldog, Pittie, Pocketpittie, MicroBully). She is guessed to be 4 years old and around 45 lbs. Short and stocky, she is a healthy and easy dog to care for unlike the other bully breeds. Medusa can be bossy and demanding of attention, jealous when humans talk to the other dogs in her foster home. She is fostered with small and big dogs, but requires correction and supervision to avoid a 'girl fight' She would do best as an only dog to keep the peace and let her enjoy a family. Medusa was pulled from a shelter last year, placed briefly in a home with another bulldog who did not want to share space with her. The setback caused jealousy behaviors which we are working on. Medusa sleeps in a crate when her foster family is not home, at night, she shares a pillow and snuggles in the human bed. Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm treated/on prevention - She is READY for Adoption FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Charlie is the sweetest little snuggle bug at only 8 months old and about 30 pounds. When we first met Charlie, he was skin and bones but he's very healthy now. His favorite thing is meal time and he dances around his food bowl with excitement and joy! He's discovered bones, which he loves, but he loves stuffed toys more than anything else. He would be great with kids but ultimately he's looking for a best friend that he can follow around with a big happy smile. His favorite things are soft blankets, stuffy toys, and having a full tummy. We do not know his breed, American Bulldog mix is a guess. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and microchipped. He just started at the Paws in Prison program the week of 2/2, where he will be paired with inmate trainers who will work with him on basic commands, house training, and maybe a few tricks! When he graduates he will have all of the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. This is an 8 week program and we hope to have an adopter ready and waiting for him when he graduates! Charlie is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Chugger is great boy. He is 100% Staffordshire Bull Terrier but is a dwarf with really bad hip displasia. He can only do 1 step and needs non slip floors. He has his own ramp to get up on the sofa. He is crate trained but has done great being left out when his foster is not home. He is on special food. He weighs about 54 lbs. He only goes outside to potty but “walks” are limited to a 5 minute lap around the perimeter of the house due to his weak legs. He is also pretty deaf. Not fully, but pretty severe. He is low maintenance. He sleeps a lot and plays with toys. Chugger likes company but is not a Velcro dog. He is not a fan of the snow/cold. He will need to be leashed to get him to go outside long enough to do his business. Otherwise he pees and runs for the door. He can do a couple of steps to get in the front door but does not do stairs at all. He doesn’t bark much at all. He met another small female dog and was non-reactive and had zero interest in her.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include, but are not limited to: pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Our rescue policy requires the following: Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Methods or devices using pain or force on the dog to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior is prohibited. Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked. All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home. All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Headliner: Itsy, The Sweetest Potato Ever! Personality: Itsy, is a sweet, lovable, cuddle bug, with no aggression whatsoever who like any bulldog, has a stubborn streak. If she doesn't want to do something, she will just look at you with this pitiful look in her eyes. Favorite Activities: She loves to play with other dogs, occasionally gets the zoomies running around the back yard. Again, she's a bulldog so low activity with this girl. Medical Issues: Itsy came into the rescue with pretty bad skin and a lot of missing hair. Her skin is all cleared up but there are places the hair did not grow back. She may or may not grow that back but definitely does not take away from her cuteness! What Would be the Best Kind of Home: Itsy would love a home where her people would be home most of the day to dote on her. She just wants to be loved. Another dog for her to play with would be great. She needs patience and someone willing to work with her on finishing up her potty training.  Additional Comments: Itsy is a wonderful dog and with some house training will be the PERFECT pet to someone who will love her as much as she will love them! Click here to watch a video of Itsy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Fozzie Bear is one big boy! He loves to ride in the car. He loads right up the minute you open the door, making sure not to be left behind! He quietly sits in his seat and watches out the window.Fozzie would do best as an only pet, as he is not good with other dogs or cats. He loves people!! While at home you will find this boy lounging around by your back door chewing on a bone. Curled up by your feet while watching tv or laying across your lap pretending to be much smaller than he actually is!!You couldn’t ask for a more faithful buddy than Fozzie. Unknown with kids, as his foster doesn’t have any. He isn’t a big barker, a little more on the quiet side.He weighs 70 lbs. and is about 4 years old. You gotta meet this big ol’ boy!! Located in Houston TX. and can be transported to most states.HIS TRANPORT FEE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY A GENEROUS DONOR.

These pups are in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania too!
