Story
Bubba Dog is a big lovable goof. He is 6 years old and weighs 73lbs. He is very affectionate and loves everyone he meets. Bubba Dog was a stray that lived on a property for about a year before Pond of Love took him in. He showee up with a horrible head wound and still has a scar on the top of his head. But he always remained a happy boy. He does like to be outdoors since he spent most of his life outside, however he has been spoiled since he was taken in as a foster and now prefers the couch to grass, and A/C to the outdoors. He recently underwent heartworm treatment. He is neutered, microchiped, and vaccinated.

Story
This cutie pie is a shelter fave not only because he's adorable, but also because he has a winning personality! He's the whole package! He's a two-year-old 55 pound gray and white American Piybull/ Bulldog with hazel eyes that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/27 as a stray. He's already fixed. You might be asking how could this guy with so much going for him still be at the shelter? He's been in isolation with a URI. He's still on medication, but he's getting better!! You may also notice that he's too thin and could use some groceries. He has been tested for heartworm and is heartworm negative! He's a happy guy with a tail that wags constantly. He stays close to his human for extra attention and affection. He comes to you when you call him. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He was not interested in playing with toys or balls, but that is something you could teach him. He's very sweet, calm, affectionate, well mannered, and easy-going. He walks very well on the leash. He did his business as soon as he got out into the yard. He wanted to make friends with all the dogs he met. I did not see any signs of aggression. He won't be at the shelter long now that I put him out there. So if you're interested please tag or come and meet him. To spend time with him is to love him. He would most likely do well with a family with children. I can see him snuggled up on the couch with his new family. Email rescues@cityofmesquite.com. to tag Augustus. Type tag in the subject line along with ID 52533432 to ensure proper tagging.

Story
Meet Barry! He is a 2 yr old male American Pit Bull Terrier/Cane Corso/Staffordshire Terrier mix that weighs 73lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/2 as a stray. Barry has a quiet and laid back personality. He walks well on a leash and enjoys going on walks taking in all the smells. He takes treats gently and does know the sit command. He didn't show much interest in stuffed toys or balls. He seemed to prefer just watching the world go by. He is a bit underweight so we will help him to gain that weight so he will feel better. The look on his face is one of not understanding why he is at the shelter and what will become of him. He has a kind soul, and doesn't mind being petted, he is still cautiously friendly. As we walked through the bay with other dogs barking he did not pay any attention to them. We do always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. Sweet Barry would love to find his own loving family where he has his own secured backyard where he can have long naps, or just resting enjoying all the sights and sounds. Come meet this great boy!

Story
Brodie was surrendered to a very full rural shelter when he was just a young puppy. Sadly, he wasn't adopted and was set to be euthanized.  We were able to locate a last minute foster for him to save his life. His foster mom says that he is a very sweet boy that gets along with dogs of all sizes. He is crate trained, good on a leash and great in the car. Brodie has just turned a year and and would love to have a home to call his own.  ##1622250##

Story
Looking to rehome my American Bully - Koe aka “Sancho” Koe was a very special Christmas gift. 2 human years on October 27. Looking to rehome him because I have been asked to return to office at my job. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone to take care of him as I am single and no family/friends in the DFW area to take care of him. I don’t think it’s fair to him to spend his dog years alone waiting for me to get home from work. He is a sweet, happy, and quiet boy that loves human attention. Playful with energy when needed but calm and patient overall. Just wants to follow around his human. Crate trained, potty trained, and follows a few basic commands. The ideal new parent/s will let me visit him, have play dates, or let him spend the weekend when possible. Also, the new parent/s home should be filled with love for a dog. If by any chance they need to rehome, I would be the first to call. I love him dearly and don’t want to lose him but unfortunately life is not always fair

Needs experienced adopter,
Story
He was given to our son as a pet around July of last year. He was about 1-2 weeks old. He loves to play! He’s not house broken nor is he neutered, but he is extremely smart. We don’t have enough time to devote to him anymore unfortunately. He just needs love and attention. He’s very sweet. Did I mention that he loves to play? He loves being outside but he also loves his cuddle time.

These pups are in Seagoville, Texas too!

Story
Prince Charming is a nickname Bryson has earned due to his enchanting personality. Bryson enjoys people, dogs, playtime and life in general! He is a happy-go-lucky fella, who is likes meeting new people while on walks. His goofy ears and consistent smile will make all your neighbors envious that you have such a lovable dog. Though Bryson is crate trained, heaven on earth would be to have a soft bed next to yours (or even sleep in bed with you) because he adores his people so much! Bryson would do well in a home with a yard, a warm bed and maybe even a canine friend. Could that home be with you? Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home.
