Story
Zoey is our resident gremlin. Zoey is an 7 year old, stocky American Pit Bull Terrier mix, weighing in at 53 pounds. She was adopted out in 2020 and returned after her owner moved in with another dog who didn’t get along with her. She came back to us overweight but has done a great job at getting herself back in shape. Zoey radiates joy with her silly ways and zest for life. Her look alone will make you smile. Zoey is a fan of walks and admiring the trees and landscape in yards. You can also typically find her rolling around on just about anything; grass, rocks, off the curbs and into sewers. If in the big yard you can catch her flying high at the lower branches of trees! Zoey will smother you with kisses when given the chance and is ready to fill your days with joy and laughter! The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.

Story
Ahhh, what to say about RANDY? Home Fur Good loves this guy, and we know his perfect family is out there that will love him just the way he is. And the way Randy "is,"... is a bit special! ;-) Randy has had a few failed adoptions thus far, but we all know you don't often find true love on the first try. Randy has spent quite a bit of time with our trainer, who has helped us gain some more insight into his personality. To start, Randy is a FUN guy! He clearly has a talent for doggy modelling, and would love a forever home that takes lots and lots of pictures of his handsome face. Randy is always willing to pose with his "sit" and "paw" tricks, and will happily show them off for some treats. Randy has the perfect moderate energy level. Sometimes he enjoys a good run around the yard with a toy, and sometimes he's happy to curl up on a bed and chill out with a chew bone. Randy is affectionate with those he knows (he loves a good back scratch), but also independent enough to sniff around and explore on his own. In fact, Randy has quite the independent streak to him, which is part of what has made finding his perfect forever fit a bit of a challenge. Per Home Fur Good's trainer, Randy has quite a stubborn streak to him, and will do best in a home that sets boundaries while still allowing Randy to be Randy. He does not enjoy being "forced" to do things, and does not respond well to "discipline-based" dog training. Randy will do best in a home that loves him just the way he is, and is willing to get to know Randy on his terms. Randy will also do best in a home with no small children, and no other animals. We KNOW Randy's perfect person is out there waiting for him... could that person be YOU? Randy is currently in board and train with Home Fur Good's trainer in Phx. Call 602-971-1334 and we will get you in touch with Randy's trainer for a meet and greet. Randy's adoption fee is $150 and includes prior training, spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment only.

Story
Serena has the moniker “Land Hippo” at Home Fur Good. Her rounded proportions and squishy face evoke the comparison to that legendary animal. She also enjoys lolling around in our kiddie pools during the summer, looking very hippo-like. This six-year-old Shar Pei and Pit Bull Mix has a happy-go-lucky personality and she’s always glad to see you. She’s a curious girl. When she’s out walking, she likes to visit the businesses along the way. She admires herself in the windows, snoops in office hallways, and waters the vegetation. Her favorite activity when she is outside in the yard is just to be with you, especially if you give her a massage. She loves people! She’s not a big fan of other dogs, however. Serena would appreciate being a solo canine companion. Serena has some allergy challenges and is on a successful treatment regimen. Home Fur Good can provide all the details for maintaining her silky coat and svelte 55-pound figure. This affectionate and sometimes goofy girlie will reward her forever family with love and devotion and plenty of good times! Give us a call at Home Fur Good and meet our happy hippo. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.

Story
Nutmeg was turned in to the county shelter in early February. While there, she seemed wary of new people, which did not help her on the adoption front. Nutmeg is a four-year-old, 45-pound Pit Bull and Boxer mix. She does have a brief moment of shyness but if you have treats or start itching her bum, she will be your bestie, quick as a blink. She is a total lapdog and wants to soak up as much affection as she can. If you get goofy, or squeak a toy, she will get all silly and show you her amazing zoomies. Nutmeg is also a smarty-pants; she knows sit, paw or shake, and we think she knows down. If Nutmeg goes to a home with children, there should only be older children. Give a call to meet your new girlfriend! The adoption fee for Nutmeg is $300, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because she is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.

Story
If you’re looking to bring laughter to your days, Fiji is your girl. This girl is your ‘happy go lucky’ kind of gal. She was turned into county as a stray and is now 4 years old. She’s a stocky, 50 pound, Pit Bull mix full of life. Fiji is in love with hard, plastic squeaky toys. She fills her days making music with the squeaks, walking around her kennel wagging her tail to the beats of her own drum. She also loves to take a nice neighborhood stroll and walks nicely at your side. Fiji is a smart girl and can learn commands quickly, she’s perfected the ‘sit’ command and eagerly awaits a treat. She also enjoys the agility equipment in the yards and loves heading up & down the bridges! She’ll do just about anything for a treat! Fiji is also a ‘if she fits, she sits’ kind of gal. If you take a seat, she’ll be sitting on top of you before you know it. She’s known for her silly ways of sitting on anything she can get herself onto or into. She’s a fan of bus benches, garage sale boxes left on the sidewalks, neighborhood fountains and furniture being left for grabs! Like we said, she will fill your day with laughter! Fiji prefers to be the queen of the castle as an only pet.

Story
Who needs a hunk of burning love in their life? Bubba is your man! Bubba is a cross between Shrek & and dog. He’s listed at 7 years old and a Pit Bull mix, weighing in at 92 pounds. He may be a senior but still has the drive to jog & stay in shape like a young man. Bubba loves taking walks and can even jog a few miles, he’s got long legs that move at a faster pace. He enjoys meeting people around the neighborhood and doesn’t pay much attention to other furry friends that are walking by. He lives for his food and sweet potato treats. Bubba does have allergies towards certain foods but is happy with the foods and treats he is able to eat. When taking him out for potty breaks or walks, it’s almost impossible to keep him from grabbing a stuffed toy on his way out. He’s been know around the neighborhood to carry these toys during his Sunday morning walks. In the yards, however, he enjoys a nice game of ‘who can tear the stuffy up the quickest’. Bubba was a long timer at county also, where he was able to be fostered for a bit by a woman who claims he was her shadow….he was also loyal and lovable to all people including adults & children. He does prefer to be the king of the household as an only pet. She also said he was housebroken and didn’t bark much in the home. Bubba has a history of multiple hematomas and ear infections, which has partially collapsed his inner right ear. He does require ear cleaning every two to three days which he doesn’t mind. He also doesn’t mind getting a rub down in a bath! If there’s a dog that loves massages, it’s Bubba! He will literally melt into you as you give him all the love he deserves. Bubba is a big boy full of love & huge kisses!
