Story
Marley was an in-utero rescue. Her pregnant mother was thrown out of a car on the freeway. My daughter saved the mother and I took the runt of the litter. I had a chihuahua mix (recently deceased) that she grew up with, and also 2 cats. She is 11 but still very active. She loves kids and playing fetch.

Story
Avery: Your Next Snuggle & Adventure Buddy! Female 1 year old  Hi there! My name is Avery, and I'm a sweet, friendly 1-year-old Female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a family to call my own. My foster parents say I'm an absolute gem! I'm completely kid-friendly and get along great with other dogs. I'm past my puppy-crazies and am well-mannered on the leash, making me an excellent partner for adventures—whether it's a walk in the park or a fun hike. A few things you should know about me: Food is my love language! I am extremely food motivated, which means I'm super easy to train and a quick learner. Got a treat? You've got my attention. I'm not a morning person. My idea of a perfect wake-up call is a slow stretch and a snuggle (after breakfast, of course!). I'm a champion cuddler! At the end of the day, there's nothing I love more than snuggling right up in bed with my people. My past is, well, my past—and I'm not looking back. All that matters is that my heart is open, and I'm ready to pour all my love into my new family. If you're looking for a dog who is loyal, loving, adventure-ready, and a world-class snuggler, please call or email my foster parent to set up a meet-and-greet! I can't wait to meet you! Story
04/25/2025Here is Brutus` report card from Tails and Trails! What did we do on today’s adventure: Once my new human friend clipped on theadventure leash, I knew this was going to be a fun day! I jumped into the car right away, eager to get on with our adventure. The car ride was smooth like a belly rub. I just chilled in the back, watching the world zoom by.Then! Oh boy, then we arrived at this magical place. Trees everywhere! And the ground smelled like a million different things! My nose went into overdrive. Sniff, sniff, SNIFF! There were so many exciting messages on every blade of grass and every tree trunk. I just had to read them all.I did five miles of pure sniffing and zooming around the trail. Sometimes I getexcited about squirrels or these mysterious critters that run across the trail and need to investigate, but then I remember to check in with my human to make sure that is ok to do. Afterall, they always seem to have yummy treats in theirpocket.Lots of other humans went by on the path, some running, some walking, some on those two-wheeled things. I didn`t bark or anything silly. I just watched them go by; I`m a cool dude like that. In the car ride back, I snoozed a bit dreaming of squirrels and new smells!14/10 - today was awesome! What should potential adopters know about me:Brutus immediately trusted me when I came to pick him up. He seems to get on more with humans than dogs. He didn’t react to other dogs to the trail, but he was definitely interested and trying to pull towards them. He can be a strong puller, so it will take someeffort to manage him on walks, but if you engage him with treats he can develop a really solid “heel”. He will definitely be fixated on the human at the other end of the leash and want to engage with you.He just loves being right next to you for pets and will give you plenty of kisses in return. He’s very calm during car rides and will jump right in for a fun time.Three words to describe me: Goofy, Sweet, Trusting03/10/25 19:18Here are some notes on Brutus from one of his fosters:Brutus is a silly, excitable boy who would make a great adventure buddy! He seeks out back rubs and only wants to be loved by his people. He is a snuggly boy once he settles down and gets familiar with his surroundings. My family took Brutus on a 4-day getaway. He panted anxiously during his first car ride. But by the end of the second day, he had alread

Story
Hi, I`m Percy! I`m a smart, affectionate boy who is ready to find my forever family.I`ve been working hard on my manners and already have a great report card! I know how to sit, lie down, and stay, and I`m a perfect gentleman in the house—completely house-broken and crate-trained for up to 6 hours while my foster parents are at work.Walks are my favorite! I keep a good pace, but I do get a little curious when new smells and sights appear, which makes me pull the leash a bit. I just need a little patient guidance to remind me what `loose leash walking` means.Around the house, I`m a champion snuggler and love to be wherever my foster mom is. I also love playing with toys! I`m excellent with kids! I snuggle with my 7 year old foster brother every morning. When I get playful, I can be a little rowdy, so I`d thrive with a family who wants to continue my training and teach me some better play manners. I`m also still learning what`s a toy and what`s not, so a home that can keep an eye on me and provide plenty of chew-safe options would be great.About cats: I`ve chased them a couple of times when I got excited, but I`ve also been seen acting very well-behaved around kittens. I may be a good fit for a savvy cat home, but I`ll need a careful, slow introduction and supervision. If you`re looking for a smart, loving shadow who is eager to learn and ready for snuggles, fill out an application for me today!

Story
11/09/25What did we do on today’s adventure:Today, Coco was thrilled to break out of the kennel for a much-needed adventure! He eagerly hopped into the car, where a stuffed pirate chicken toy was waiting just for him. Coco wasted no time tearing it apart with joy. Once we arrived at Almaden Lake Park, Coco was excited by all the sights and sounds. We took it slow, walking about halfway around the lake before choosing a quieter neighborhood route. He walks beautifully on leash, loves to sniff plants, and `mark his spot.` Coco has a lot of energy to burn and clearly benefits from long walks. We clocked over five miles together, and by the time we returned to the car, he was so content and tired that he needed a little boost back into the seat. What should potential adopters know about me:Coco has had a tough time. He is an intelligent and sensitive dog who needs routine and structure, but he hasn’t had that for a long while. Life in the shelter is noisy and unpredictable, which makes him feel always on edge, trying to figure out what will happen next. Once he finds a stable and loving home where he feels safe, he will be able to rest, relax, and breathe truly. Coco already knows “sit” and “shake” and proudly offers his paw for a treat or praise. He’s playful, loves to chew and destroy stuffed animals (he’d adore a steady supply!), and finds enrichment through toys and walks. Coco is leash reactive to other dogs, so he may need to be the only dog in the home. However, with redirection through treats andcalm encouragement, he can improve over time. At heart, Coco is a dog who wants a chance to start over. He’s ready for freedom, routine, and someone who will give him the steady, peaceful life he’s been waiting for.Three words to describe me:Playful, Sensitive, Intelligent
