Story
Pat is a F blk/wht pit bull foster notes: Pat is a blue-nose pit and approximately 2 years old. When she feels safe she shows her loving, silly, and playful side. Pat loves to play with squeaky toys, go on walks, and eat chicken. Pat can be very affectionate and loves to cuddle on the couch. Pat’s ideal home is a healthy balance of outdoor and homebody activities. Although Pat does have the capacity to be friendly, she does have reservations: Pat is fearful of strangers walking towards her especially if they’re making movements with their arms. Pat can also be fearful of other dogs that stare at her and my react with barking and lunging. It’s clear that Pat has had a rough start to life but in the right home she will thrive. Pat is potty trained, walks well on leash, and does well in car rides. Pat is learning commands such as sit and wait.  She loves bananas Pat would do best in a home that has experience with rescues and has the patience to work with her. Pat would do best as the single pet in the home but may be okay with other dogs with a slow introduction.  Foster-Mom notes:  •Personality/Temperament: Pat listens to me really well—I have built a strong rapport with her so it’s not difficult for me to clean her paws, brush her teeth, moisturize her paws etc. And she has never snapped at me when I’ve done these things. The only thing is when I first got her she was slightly fearful of her harness and collar but she’s now completely fine with it especially since I’ve shown her we can take it off. I think whoever adopts Pat wouldn’t have issue with this either so long as there is a strong loving foundation.    Pat loves jumping in bushes and prefers to go to the bathroom behind the bush    Pat sometimes gets the zoomies when she poops or pees so something to be mindful of   When Pat is anxious she bites at her nails and paw pads so I make sure that she has toys so she can redirect that to something else    •Medical Appointments: She was reactive when she went to the vet but my vet is very patient with her and worked around it. I brought her with a muzzle on. Trazodone also has been a big help specifically when I took her to get spayed.    •Social Engagement: Pat loves my youngest dog Koko but does not like Sugar. The latter is because Sugar smelled food that Pat had and wanted it and this made Pat distrustful of Sugar. Sugar is also my oldest living dog so I think there’s a level of respect Sugar feels like she should be getting. When Pat is hungry and smells chicken or that I’m cooking she will “awroo” at me (not a bark but not a cry) and Sugar doesn’t like that so she’ll bark at Pat.   Pat also seems to be more fearful of men but with patience she can overcome it (eg, she was reactive when she first met my dad but now she loves him and follows him around the house when we visit ##2576226##

Story
Nimbus is a 2 yo gray M pitbull mix From his foster: He loves going for car rides and out to places, he’s very sociable with people, very sociable with dogs, is a pretty good boy off leash, doesn’t dig. Also doesn’t seem to mind the cat or the farm animals.  Nimbus is a social butterfly & wants to be with his person / people. He is unhappy if left behind a barrier but can hear people. This is getting much better, & he'll settle for another dog but really prefers to be with people!  He has been phenomenal with the other dogs, loves to play tug with people and has been great on/off leash and in the car! He loves treats, responds well to his name and has a good wait and leave it. I haven’t had around small children so that is an unknown. ##2574835##

Story
Alicia is a 9 year old brindle female pit mix Hi, I’m Alicia — a 9-year-old pittie with the sweetest soul and the cutest quirk… I bring you my leash when I’m ready to go outside! My foster mom saved me from a shelter in California, and I’m so grateful for this second chance. I’m spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and my favorite place to be is right next to you, snoozing while we watch TV together. I’m a people-loving, cuddle-seeking girl who would thrive as the only dog in the home. I’ve done well around kids (my foster’s 10-year-old buddy and I get along great!), but I prefer not to share my space or toys with other dogs. I’m a big fan of toys — sometimes I even prance around proudly with my favorite one when we come back inside. I’m still polishing up my potty skills, but when I’m part of the action (instead of tucked away), I do much better letting you know I need to go out — sometimes by grabbing my leash or standing by the door. With a patient family willing to give me structure, love, and a little grace, I’ll be your loyal shadow, your TV-time snuggle buddy, and your forever best friend. ##2498985##

Story
Loki is a handsome, affectionate, and well-mannered 8-year-old dog who is urgently seeking a dedicated adopter. He loves people, gets along well with friendly female dogs, and plays fetch like a pro. Tennis balls are his favorite! Outside the shelter, Loki walks well on leash, regularly checks in with his handler, and stays calm around passing people and dogs. He still has the stamina for a 4-mile hike but is happily past the challenging adolescent phase. Loki has been placed on medical final due to ongoing allergy-related needs. While in the shelter, he has required regular ear cleanings that must be performed under sedation. Although Loki has never shown aggression toward veterinary staff, he is sensitive to handling and struggles to remain still for ear treatments. He has shown improvement on a poultry-free diet along with prescription allergy medication such as Apoquel or Cytopoint. With consistent diet and medication, his adopter may be able to reduce or even eliminate the need for frequent ear cleanings. Loki has lived in foster homes and does well in a home environment. However, he was returned from one foster placement due to incompatibility with household cats, so a cat-free home is required. Loki would thrive with an active individual or family willing to provide consistency, patience, and ongoing support for his medical care. ##2617118##
