Visitors are limited to those with approved applications. Adopt: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/adopt Foster: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/foster Thank you! Cole is looking for his next new best pal! He’s spunky and fun and loves to play fetch. Even though he is a higher-energy boy outdoors, he settles so nicely in his room. He'll occupy himself with a toy or cuddle up in his bed and wait patiently for his turn to go outside. He'd make a great companion for someone who is looking for a copilot for all of their adventures but wants a snuggle buddy at night. Cole is an affectionate boy who has no shame in showing off his belly for a good belly rub! Cole loves every human that he meets but shouldn't live with small children as he can be jumpy when he's really excited to see his people. Cole has his own room so he is left loose throughout the day without having any accidents. We crate him overnight and he does great in a crate as well. He is quiet all day unless he can hear that his favorite dog walker is at the shelter! Other Dogs: When Cole first arrived, he wasn't thrilled about other dogs and we have previously posted him as an only dog. However recently, thanks to the incredible wizardry of Tyler (Cole's favorite dog walker), he is learning social skills. He has been on a few walks now with Tyler's dog (adopted from Lighthouse!) and the two of them get along really well. We're not sure if Cole could live with another dog right now, but now we know that Cole has the potential to make more dog friends Cats: Unknown - we can test him for applicants

Story
VISITORS LIMITED TO THOSE WHO HAVE SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS: https://lighthouseanimalshelter.org/dog-adoption-application/ -- 4 year old, 50 lb. female Pitbull Mix Dogs: With a slow introduction, Zoe loves other pups and will do zoomies in the yard out of excitement. Her ideal home probably wouldn't take her to a dog park but she'd still like to spend time with dogs that she meets properly and is familiar with. Cats: Zoe can live with cats who are tolerant of a playful pup. Zoe is a smart, beautiful, sweet girl. When we first got her at Lighthouse, she was insecure meeting new people. The more that we’ve gotten to know her, she’s come out of her shell with regular volunteers and has shown us how loving and silly she can be. When she sees someone that she loves, her little nub tail doesn’t stop wagging and all she wants to do is for you to say hi to her and welcome her into your lap for snuggles. Once you have her trust, there is no turning back! She is loyal and will always greet you with a smile on her face. Zoe is house trained and crate trained. Zoe has been to professional training so she knows basic commands and also knows some fun ones like how to give a high five. Zoe's forever home should be understanding about her insecurity with new people and will want to continue with her obedience training so that when she does get scared, she will listen to you and know that she can trust you. -- We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches. Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $450 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.

Story
Bailey was owned by a family member who moved and couldn’t take him. I took him temporarily rather than bring him to a shelter. He is a good boy about 3.5 years old and has some training. He loves to run and play. I don’t believe he’s purebred but I’m unsure of what else he may be. He can be silly and sometimes afraid of his own shadow. He is friendly with the Pit next door who is a female and smaller than him. He was good with my dog who was a small 20 lb mutt who since passed. He loves attention and would make a great companion. I work 2 jobs and very busy with a teenager who doesn’t like big dogs. I just want to find him a forever home to avoid bringing him to a shelter.

Story
Isla (formerly known as "Snow") is a 3 y.o., female, gorgeous Albino deaf Pitbull Terrier looking for a forever home. She's very energetic, loves people and the outdoors. She loves toys, chasing leaves, shadows and anything that moves, cuddling, treats, and belly rubs. Isla needs a patient owner that understands her need to be the only pet in the home with no small children. While she is not aggressive toward humans, if scared, she will hide in her crate and can be reactive if someone tries to reach inside of the crate to force her out. Because she is deaf, she can become overstimulated and need to use her crate as her safe space and will go there on her own when needed. Isla is crate trained and will happily sleep either in bed with her humans (warning - she is a bed hog and she wants her head on your pillow!) or in her crate (covered by a blanket). Isla is trained to respond to the vibration on her e-collar to "come" and is working on the "stay" command using hand signals. She knows how to sit and lay and the "no" command (again, hand signs). She is not a destructive dog and will not chew on furniture, etc. While she loves to play with other dogs, she does resource guard and does not pick up on social cues, which frustrates other animals and makes them anxious, and has resulted in physical aggression from other dogs toward Isla and vice versa that is significant and creates an unsafe environment for her and other animals. She is fully potty trained. She has not yet mastered walking nicely on a leash, though she has had a few lessons with a trainer, she does tend to pull due to her high energy nature and visual distractibility. Isla is a love - if you enjoy a funny, playful pup that loves to snuggle and are looking to devote all of your love to one pet - she will be that dog that is by your side 24/7! Thank you for choosing rescue. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BY EMAIL OR PHONE TO TELL US YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ISLA. We are all volunteers and we cannot move forward without your application. If you would like to be considered to adopt her go to our website and fill out an application. www.sunnypawsrescue.org. Be sure you receive a confirmation email after submission and someone will be in touch promptly.

Story
Meet Lucinda (Lucy)!Lucy’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her resilience and loving heart shine through. She wandered up to a kind stranger, frightened and injured, with wounds on her face and leg. Thanks to medical care and the patience of her foster family, Lucy has healed beautifully—both inside and out—and is now ready to find a forever home of her own.Lucy is a gentle soul with a tender heart. She may start out a little shy, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the ultimate “velcro dog.” Her favorite place to be is right by her person’s side—whether it’s snuggling on the couch, showering you with kisses, or just keeping you company throughout the day.Lucy does beautifully with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as the star of the show in a home where she’s the only pup. She’s crate trained (she’ll even go in on command!), housetrained, and walks nicely on leash—though she may pull a little when her excitement takes over. Lucy also rides like a pro in the car and loves every trip.Because of her past, Lucy can sometimes feel a little anxious, especially in busy outdoor settings with multiple dogs, and she may be vocal at first when kenneled. Mealtime is another big highlight of her day—she gets very enthusiastic about her food! Feeding her in her kennel works best and keeps her happy and comfortable.Lucy has a low energy level and is happiest simply being near her humans. Her ideal home would be one where she can spend lots of time with her family and feel safe and loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Lucy is ready to fill your life with love and cuddles.Name: LucindaBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 40lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Treatment completed 11/25/25Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Buster! This sweet and handsome pup, with the biggest and most endearing ears you’ve ever seen, is ready to find his forever home. Buster’s story started out a little rough—he was found as a stray, thin and emaciated—but you’d never know it now. Thanks to the love and care of his foster family, he’s blossomed into a happy, healthy boy who is eager to share his gentle heart with everyone he meets.Buster is friendly with kids, loves other dogs, and enjoys spending time with people. He is the happiest dog, always wagging his tail!He is housetrained and does well with either a doggie door or a regular potty schedule. He is still learning to communicate when he needs to go out, so his future family should be prepared to continue helping him with this routine.Whether he’s romping around with his canine friends, soaking up the sunshine, or quietly resting nearby, he’s simply happy to be part of the family. His playful and affectionate personality shines through in everything he does including relaxing on a recliner with you (see pic)Despite his difficult start, Buster has so much love to give. so good natured and very cuddly. He’s the kind of dog who will quickly become your loyal companion through all of life’s adventures. Buster is waiting patiently for the right family to give him the forever home he so deserves—could that be you?Name: BusterBreed: Pittie MixSex: MaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 35 lbs as of 9/29Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm:  Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:   MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
