Visitors are limited to those with approved applications. Adopt: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/adopt Foster: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/foster Thank you! Cole is looking for his next new best pal! He’s spunky and fun and loves to play fetch. Even though he is a higher-energy boy outdoors, he settles so nicely in his room. He'll occupy himself with a toy or cuddle up in his bed and wait patiently for his turn to go outside. He'd make a great companion for someone who is looking for a copilot for all of their adventures but wants a snuggle buddy at night. Cole is an affectionate boy who has no shame in showing off his belly for a good belly rub! Cole loves every human that he meets but shouldn't live with small children as he can be jumpy when he's really excited to see his people. Cole has his own room so he is left loose throughout the day without having any accidents. We crate him overnight and he does great in a crate as well. He is quiet all day unless he can hear that his favorite dog walker is at the shelter! Other Dogs: When Cole first arrived, he wasn't thrilled about other dogs and we have previously posted him as an only dog. However recently, thanks to the incredible wizardry of Tyler (Cole's favorite dog walker), he is learning social skills. He has been on a few walks now with Tyler's dog (adopted from Lighthouse!) and the two of them get along really well. We're not sure if Cole could live with another dog right now, but now we know that Cole has the potential to make more dog friends Cats: Unknown - we can test him for applicants

Story
VISITORS LIMITED TO THOSE WHO HAVE SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS: https://lighthouseanimalshelter.org/dog-adoption-application/ -- 4 year old, 50 lb. female Pitbull Mix Dogs: With a slow introduction, Zoe loves other pups and will do zoomies in the yard out of excitement. Her ideal home probably wouldn't take her to a dog park but she'd still like to spend time with dogs that she meets properly and is familiar with. Cats: Zoe can live with cats who are tolerant of a playful pup. Zoe is a smart, beautiful, sweet girl. When we first got her at Lighthouse, she was insecure meeting new people. The more that we’ve gotten to know her, she’s come out of her shell with regular volunteers and has shown us how loving and silly she can be. When she sees someone that she loves, her little nub tail doesn’t stop wagging and all she wants to do is for you to say hi to her and welcome her into your lap for snuggles. Once you have her trust, there is no turning back! She is loyal and will always greet you with a smile on her face. Zoe is house trained and crate trained. Zoe has been to professional training so she knows basic commands and also knows some fun ones like how to give a high five. Zoe's forever home should be understanding about her insecurity with new people and will want to continue with her obedience training so that when she does get scared, she will listen to you and know that she can trust you. -- We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches. Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $450 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.

Story
Millie is a happy go lucky- Loyal protective purebred Pitbull. We are looking to re-home Millie to a kid and pet free home. She is a little over 2.5 and has been a part of our family since she was 12 weeks old. She has always been amazing with our children and family. she sleeps with our children every night but recently showed signs of resource guarding when she was playing with her favorite toy. I have always been able to properly intervene and educate my children on respecting her boundaries but with a 5 year old those boundaries are easily forgotten. We also have 4 cats she enjoys chasing around trying to play with which also stresses the cats out. She doesn’t have a lot of socialization with dogs so no other dogs is ideal. Unfortunately we are in the position where we need to re-home her to a safe environment for my son- and her. We are heartbroken but know there is a family out there with no children and other pets that can give her exactly what she needs.

Story
Bailey was owned by a family member who moved and couldn’t take him. I took him temporarily rather than bring him to a shelter. He is a good boy about 3.5 years old and has some training. He loves to run and play. I don’t believe he’s purebred but I’m unsure of what else he may be. He can be silly and sometimes afraid of his own shadow. He is friendly with the Pit next door who is a female and smaller than him. He was good with my dog who was a small 20 lb mutt who since passed. He loves attention and would make a great companion. I work 2 jobs and very busy with a teenager who doesn’t like big dogs. I just want to find him a forever home to avoid bringing him to a shelter.

Story
He was rescued at 1 year old from a nonviolent elderly gentleman unable to care for him. He’s currently 5 years old and still has springs in his feet. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and he’s a love bug at heart who is willing to be a lap dog if allowed. Loves food, loves car rides, hiking, boat rides, and running on the beach. He can swim but gets nervous in the water. He isn’t aggressive with other dogs, but sometimes gets overly excited and he doesn’t know when to stop playing. He has successfully cohabitated with cats. Needs daily walks/exercise to manage energy. Does extremely well with a remote collar. He will kiss all of your guests to death if allowed. Perfect for a home with school age or older children or an active retiree. Needs consistent activity and love. He is chipped and has never missed a vet appointment or shot.
