This is Brandy. She's a 3 year old medium size pit mix. She's extremely affectionate with people, especially women. She doesn't do well around cats and smaller animals and would be best suited in a home where she is the only dog and there are no small children. She is excellent on the leash, loves car rides and belly rubs and is high energy. ~~ Adoption donation $ 200. All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and spayed. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Visit www.ruffloverescue.com/adoption to make this pup a member of your familyApril 22, 2024, 12:53 pm

Story
Chocolate Roses recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say! "I just had the best time on a Dogs Day Out with beautiful Chocolate Roses - a 48 lb., 5 YO Pitt Bull Terrier sweetie. She was eager to jump in the car and quietly chilled out during our drive. We hiked several miles in the woods, had lunch, went to All Pets Considered for a bath, and then checked out Griffin Community Park. She needs time to release her kennel energy, but is then ready to explore with her feet and nose. I learned from out time together that she is: Friendly towards people and dogs. Maintains manageable leash tension. All in with creeks and puddles. Excited at any chance to roll in grass. Quiet, never heard her bark today. Very treat-motivated, but gentle. A tennis ball fetching machine. This is an athletic lady, so she will need a fenced yard to run and play! We ran a bit on the trail and she maintained a good line, so may be a great running buddy. This lady has been at Guilford County Animal Services for nearly two months, so is ready to be adopted from 12-4:00 any day but Tuesday." As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Dragon recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say! "This boy's name is Dragon, but there is nothing fierce or fire-breathing about this Pittie love-bug! Dragon is a four-year-old, 47lb. neutered male Pit Bull Terrier. I honestly think he would have been happy to spend his entire Dogs Day Out sitting on a sofa cuddling and giving kisses - but we did do a number of activities as well: Needs a little encouragement/help jumping into the car, but once we got going, he immediately lied down for the ride...even took a snooze Dragon was happy to meet our son, who joined us for a walk around Battleground Military Park (almost two miles). At first, Dragon weaves back and forth in front of you, but he is easily directed to choose a side and keep a nice pace. He does look over his shoulder quite a bit just to make sure you are still with him. He was interested in other dogs, walkers and bicyclists, but in a friendly, "Hi!" manner. No fear or aggression. As another volunteer pointed out, he knows "sit" if, and only if there is a treat in the deal! Smart boy indeed! I agree that he should be easy to teach other commands. Back at home, he LOVED snuggle time on the sofa and took a good nap with his head in my lap - he has the cutest soft snore House-trained and quiet - never heard a bark from him all day. He enjoyed a good brushing on the back patio and a pup cup before returning to the shelter. Dragon is heartworm positive, but the shelter provides a treatment that spans over one year. The treatment begins during their time at the shelter, and any remaining monthly doses will be sent home with the pup at the time of adoption at no cost. If you are interested in meeting the most huggable dragon ever, you can visit him at Guilford Animal Services, 980 Guilford College Rd., Greensboro, from 12-4 pm any day but Tuesday." Notes from Dragon's recent Weekend Getaway! "Who wouldn't be in love with this beauty?? Dragon is such a sweet dog with a big head . Dragon, you will find a perfect family! 1- He does amazing in the car! Once inside he immediately laid down for the ride + take long naps + loud snoring 2- House trained! 3- Crate trained? I don't know .... He is soooo well behaved that he doesn't need a crate. He only wants to rest and be in a safe place 4- Treat motivated + knows to sit (of course!!) 5- Absolutely perfect on walks 6- Favorite position? Belly up! 7- Loves sunbathing!! 8- He is soooo quiet no barking over the weekend 9- He is a CrossFit boy [did well in public!]" As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match.
