Meet Pandora! She:- Enjoys meeting new people- Is loving and affectionate- Walks well on leash (No or low amount of pulling)- Does well with the car ride- Is dog selectiveDog Day Out, 4/23/24:Pandora went on a walking loop around Elon’s campus along with me and a few of my friends. She sat up like a lady in the car ride and she was very good on a leash! After our walk, we chilled together where she showed us her tricks (sit, paw, etc.), and she rolled over for some cuddles and belly rubs. She fell asleep in the car on the way back she had such a good time! After a good walk, Pandora will sit by your side and accept any scratches. Pandora is very easy-going, loving, and a perfect fit for any family! Dog Day Out, 4/13/24:Pandora, Amy, and I had a big adventure along the Heartlleaf Loop trail … went around it twice… didn’t run into a soul! Pandora enjoyed sniffing and rooting and we even jogged some!! Pandora walks well on leash and loves an open car window with her face to the sun and the wind in her ears!Dog Day Out, 4/1/24:Our sweet girl Pandora had a great time at Lake McIntosh today!! Along the trail she went squirrel hunting and the couple of times she spotted a squirrel, she about pulled me through the air! She loved being on that trail and we stopped in the Lake View gazebo and she enjoyed her water and treats… I love this precious girl…..Dog Day Out, 2/10/24:Pandora was very sweet and loved walking around Elon`s campus. She’s an older dog so she might need help getting into the car but her age doesn’t stop her any. She loves cuddling and is very sweet! Overall a great dog! She enjoyed meeting new people, is loving and affectionate, and walks well on leash. Pandora loves her toys and tennis balls. She does not care for other dogs and will do best as the only pet in her new home.

Quavo seems like a very happy dog.  This 8 year old boy was adopted in 2016 but ended up back at the shelter as a stray this past September.  He seems great with other dogs, friendly with people, and has a very gentle personality.  Plus he smiles a lot!  Quavo is really a great dog. ##1838602##

Story
Agnes is approximately 9 years old. She is very sweet, loves to snuggle and is well behaved. She has been a wonderful part of our family for the last 6 years but recently she has decided that she doesnt like our other dog or large crowds of people. We are a growing family of 6 and we hate that Agnes needs to be crated with groups and needs constant monitoring when with our other dog. Agnes would be happiest living with a small family, couple or single man or woman. She loves kids but is untested with children under the age of 8. Agnes deserves a good and loving home because shes truly a sweet girl. We love her and want to give her the life that she deserves but feel as though we’re doing her a disservice by keeping her in an environment where she feels nervous. Agnes makes an outstanding lapdog or adventurous companion. Summers spent in the mountains hiking, at the lake swimming or burrowed in your bed make her happiest! She has a lot of love to give!

Story
We got Nyla in 2019. She has never been a house dog but is crate trained. She loves to play and run around. Within the last 4.5 yrs that we have had her, she has no history of bites. We are starting to travel a lot and the kids are getting older with more responsibilities and we just want her to go to a family that will be able to spend more time with her and show her the love that she deserves. We do love her and will miss her but she would benefit more from a family that has the time and patience.

Story
Foster notes, 12/4/23:Pie is an extremely affectionate dog that has lived most of his life in the shelter. He would benefit from some training as he can be hyper but this is at no fault of his own. Having another playmate helps with his energy. Because Pie hasn’t had a lot of interactions with other dogs and been able to be a pup himself, all he wants to do is play while the other dogs are wanting to rest. With positive redirection Pie will calm down and take a rest himself. Pie gets really excited and will try to grab blankets, toys, whatever may be around so I would recommend lots of variety of toys for him. He absolutely loves playing fetch and could play this for hours if you allowed it. Pie is such an amazing dog that has been looked over time and time again. All he wants is love, affection and attention. He will make an amazing partner in any adventure his family goes on. He loves to ride in cars and when we take him out, he goes to the car wanting to get in- it’s the absolute cutest thing. Pie loves to get belly rubs and will reward you with all of the kisses in the world. He is such a good boy that is so deserving of a forever home. Pie is house and crate trained, and lets you know when he needs to go potty. He is walked on a leash to go outside and is starting to do much better on leash. There are times when Pie will take charge and wants to walk himself by taking the leash in his mouth and starts walking in the direction he would like to go. I crate Pie when I leave the house and he’s done absolutely amazing. Pie knows sit and that is about it. We are working on other commands. I would recommend not playing tug of war with him and just tell him to “drop” the toy and he will so you can then throw it for him to go and fetch. This is a positive way to play with Pie that does not get him too overstimulated and excited. Pie does amazing with my 2 year old and my other dogs. I would recommend that Pie go to a home with at least one other dog so he can have someone to play with as playing as become his absolute favorite thing to do. I also have cats in the house and Pie is not bothered at all with them and does not engage with them at all, he is just uninterested in cats. Like every dog, Pie just needs a family willing to show him patience and love and who will work with him. Sound like you? Story
Fun, playful, clownish, and smart--the words that seem to describe Moose. This super cute fella was picked up by the Burlington Police Department and brought to BAS. He`s definitely not a criminal and did nothing wrong, he was just a lost pup who didn`t find his way back home. Moose is at least 5 years old and knows some basic commands. He has a happy and friendly personality, and he`s ready to bring much laughter, happiness, and love to a lucky person or family`s life. Moose did test positive for heartworm but we will be taking care of the treatment, so no worries! Moose is hoping to meet you today, so come visit us soon!Dog Day Out, 5/4/24:It was a rainy day when Moose had his outing, so we sat under some shade and played with so many toys. We took a stroll around Elon`s campus, and Moose was happy to meet so many new human friends. He spent most of his time chewing on awesome toys, running around, and meeting new friends. Moose was such a sweet boy! He was so friendly with every single person he met, and gave the biggest puppy eyes when he did not get pets from someone who walked by. He was very well adjusted to his new company of the day, and was strutting around campus with his beloved toy in his mouth. Moose is young at heart and would do so well in any home he is given the opportunity to thrive in. He loves butt scratches and sitting with his toys. Dog Day Out, 4/26/24:Moose was a wonderful hiking partner! He pulled a bit at first, but caught on quickly to walking well! He’s super smart, has `sit` down super well, and loves to give you his paw! He was an absolute sweetheart and loves to lean on you and get good rubs! I hope this wonderful boy finds a good home soon! Dog Day Out, 4/5/24:We started the day with some Starbucks--Moose loved his pup cup. Then we went to Cedarock Park and went on the Waterfall Trail and the Green Trail they have. Then we went to McDonald’s where he enjoyed some fries. Moose was fantastic, didn’t bark, didn’t pull--very gentle. On our hike we bumped into a couple of dogs and he wanted nothing to do with them. I have a 7 month old; she wasn’t with us the whole time but when she was, he paid little attention to her. He also knows tricks: sit and shake with both paws--very clever. If I could, I’d adopt this lovely guy in a heart beat.
