Story
Meet Diddy!Diddy was originally adopted from us as a puppy and recently found himself back as a stray. Sadly, his previous family didn’t come back for him, but Diddy hasn’t let that dull his spirit. He’s ready to start fresh and find a forever home that will truly stick by his side. This big, lovable guy is a total sweetheart with a playful, silly personality that’s sure to keep you smiling. He loves to have fun, whether that’s bouncing around in excitement, playing with toys, or just being his goofy self. Because of his size and enthusiasm, Diddy would do best in a home with children ages 3 and up who can handle his bouncy nature.Diddy may be open to sharing his home with another dog or even a cat, as long as introductions are done slowly and thoughtfully. With the right match, he could make a great companion for both people and pets alike. If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared - bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Say hi to Sadie! This lovely pup is looking for a new lease on life after spending much of her formative years crated and isolated. She is undersocialized and still learning to trust people, but she has a kind spirit and truly yearns for love and companionship. Since she can be timid with new people and in novel situations, she asks that any kids in the home be 8 and older. She does not have much experience with other dogs, but she is very curious and willing to try making friends with proper introduction. Sadie deserves some independence with the stability of a family to call her own. She has so much potential to be a loyal friend.

Scooby is about 7, he is a very sweet dog, he loves going on walks and and playing, he still has puppy energy. I have 4 children and trying to take care of him and them is a handful. He can't be left alone for long periods of time. He gets sick on car rides over 30 minutes. He needs someone that can give him all the attention he needs. He is great with kids, he does have accidents sometimes only if we aren't home.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Fancy is a sweet, social girl who absolutely adores people and thrives on attention. She has a gentle, loving personality and truly enjoys being part of the action — whether that’s soaking up affection from her humans or playing alongside her canine friends. Fancy would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. She also needs another friendly dog in her forever home, as she blossoms with companionship and feels most confident with a furry buddy by her side. If you’re looking for a loving addition who will bring joy, loyalty, and tail wags into your life, Fancy is ready to find her perfect match. :) REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another fur friendVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Meet Maurice: Maurice is a 3 year old (as of 2026) pit / lab mix (best guess) that weighs around 60 pounds. Maurice is timid but sweet. He likes giving kisses, belly rubs, and getting attention from his person. He loves being outside and exploring. A fenced-in yard or someone looking for a walking buddy would be ideal for Maurice as he loves to run and go for walks. He is great in the car, crate and house-trained, and will entertain himself with chew bones. Maurice is currently in a foster home in the Leesport, PA area. He gets along with other dogs and has been fine around cats. Maurice is uncomfortable around men and would need to have a woman as his primary person. We would love for Maurice to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play! Maurice is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting this sweetie, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.   CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Care in Leesport, PA  19533 Kennel License #17584 ##1655305##

Story
Meet Chip: Chip is a 2 year old (as of February 2025)  pit / lab mix (best guess) that weighs around 45 pounds. Chip and his litter mates (Belle, Prince, Hunter, Magic, Maurice, Maestro, Phillipe and FiFi) were rescued from being sold out of the back of a pickup truck at a grocery store. Chip is currently in a loving foster home in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to meet more prospective families. Chip is a loving and attentive dog who will give you kisses. Chip likes to follow you around, but also loves playing with other dogs and carrying his toys and bones around the house. Chip likes to snuggle with you on the couch. Chip is crate and house trained. We would love for Chip to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play! Chip is up to date on his shots and neutered. Story
Meet Bonnie: Bonnie is estimated to be about a 2 year old (as of June 2025) pit mix that weighs around 100 pounds. Bonnie and her brother, Clyde, were picked up as strays and found their way into our rescue. Bonnie is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bonnie is very sweet and friendly. Bonnie is leash trained, but can pull when excited. Bonnie gets along well with other dogs. Bonnie seems to do well with cats; she has ignored the cat she has been around even when the cat sits by her pen and taunts her. However they haven’t had much time in the same space. We are unsure of Bonnie’s house training status and will need to continue to assess her abilities as we spend more time with her. We would love for Bonnie to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play freely. Bonnie is up to date on her shots and spayed. If you are interested in giving this sweet hippo a great home, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.
