Story
Hi there, I'm Nolan! I'm a fun-loving pup on the hunt for my forever home. I'm eager to explore the world around me, play, and learn how to be a well-behaved canine citizen. I have lots (and I mean LOTS) of energy, and I'm still working on my training and can get a bit over-excited at times - that's why I'm looking for a family who is dedicated to helping me become the best version of myself. My foster mom says that I walk well on a leash and I love to learn so a good student is what I am!Ideally, I'd love to find a home with someone who has experience with dogs and where any children are 13 years or older. I'm also looking for a home where I can be the only dog, as I want to be the center of your world. While I'm not sure how I feel about cats, I promise I'm a sweet pup who just needs a little direction and patience. I am housebroken and crate trained. Once I've had my exercise for the day, I'm also an amazing cuddler and enjoy lounging on the couch. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, I could be the perfect match for you. So why not give me a chance and let's see if we can become the best of friends!---This dog is available BY APPOINTMENT only as he is living in foster care. ---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Story
Hey there! My name's Remy and I am looking for my furever home! I can be a little standoffish with new people but once I warm up to you, I am a big cuddle bug and enjoy my time with people. I have been around kids in my previous home but would prefer any kiddos in my home to be 10 and up! I get along with other dogs and may do well with cats after a proper introduction. I am housebroken and working on crate-training. My former family didn't have enough time for me so I need a little more help with my manners. I can be stubborn and pushy (true to my bullish breed) so I would prefer an experienced dog family to help me be the best boy I can be. If you're looking for your next sous chef to help taste all your food or your newest couch potato to binge your favorite shows, I'm your guy! Come down to meet me and lets get this furever thing cooking!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm. ---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 3/31/24 Homer What a gem! Homer was in a municipal shelter here in Arkansas, where he had run out of time and was in danger of being euthanized. Thanks to a wonderful foster opening their home, we are able to save this sweet boy in the nick of time, and we are so glad we did! Homer may not look fancy, but he makes up for that with his winning personality. He LOVES going to Doggy daycare and playing with all the other dogs there. He is an affectionate dog, but is not demanding at all. He is thankful for any little pat on the head or kind word. He is smart and very receptive to training, so he quickly house, crate, and leash manners. He is not a high energy dog with his humans at all, but when other dogs initiate higher energy play, he's game! Homer recently underwent heartworm treatment and came through it with flying colors! He is now recovered and is ready to find his forever home! We would love to see him go to a home with another dog companion, or a family who will enroll him in a daycare one or two times a week to keep him social. He is not anxious when left alone, so he would do fine with a family that has a regular work schedule out of the home. He is nit a l loud dog and would be OK for apartment or condo dwellers, as long as they can give him proper exercise and stimulation. We are unsure of Homer's breed, but he is about 60 lbs and we believe he is 3 or 4 years old. This website makes us pick a breed to list him as, he is probably a mix of several breeds. We put Boxer mix because a breed ID app listed Boxer as a potential breed. Who knows! He does have one wonky ear which is probably due to an old hematoma that was left untreated or an old injury. It does not seem to bother him at all and there is nothing to be done for it. If you are looking for a chill, sweet natured dog who is content to just keep you company, Homer is your guy! Please consider giving him a forever home, and if you can't do that, please share his post to help him find a good home. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NJ 5am Fridays Southington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059  email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Sweet, Deaf Diamond is unfortunately Heartworm positive. She is looking for an immediate foster-to-adopt home (or a foster home) Diamond was surrendered to a MD shelter very pregnant back in December. She had her babies there, and came to us when they were 4 days old. She was used to being a family dog, and has shown us that everyday. Now that her babies are away from her, Diamond shows us that she is instantly dog friendly, she is kid friendly, she responds well to training, and she just wants to be included in the family. She doesn't even get startled when sleeping, and she is a GOOD sleeper. Diamond will undergo Heartworm treatment at our vet in Harford County. Once the treatment is done and her crate rest period is ended, she can be officially adopted. She has a very low adoption fee to hopefully make her more attractive to a family. But what more could you want? She is already adorable, cuddly, and well behaved. And she won't be disturbed by your loud kids or your spouses horrible music choice. Therefore she will make an excellent companion for watching sports on TV. Diamond is otherwise completely vetted and spayed. Your responsibility would be to get her to her appointments and follow the Heartworm rest instructions, and keep in touch with us. Otherwise you would treat her as your own. Send us a message or an email to katie@puppiesareworthsaving.com for more information or if you're interested.

Story
Hello, my name is Oso! I was brought into the shelter for a chance at a better life, since my previous home left me malnourished and neglected. I am gaining back my strength and condition, but I have been resilient and have not lost all trust in people. I have been living in a foster home because kennel life is very stressful for me. I am dog and cat friendly, so I would be happy to live with other animals. I have gotten much healthier and happier so now I can't wait to find my furever home! I do need some work on crate training, but old dogs can still learn new tricks! I have historically shown some over-arousal behavior and do have some handling sensitivity, so any kids in the home should be 13 and older. Although I am a mature gentleman I love to play and have plenty of spunk. I deserve a comfortable home and to never feel alone or hungry again. Would you like to adopt me? ---This dog is in foster care and is available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please fill out an application to schedule an appointment. Find the application here: https://www.pspca.org/form/adoption-application-lancaster or stop by in person to fill them out. My name is Betty. I'm a sweet older girl looking for my forever home. I can be a little nervous at first but as I warm up I am sweet and affectionate. I love the company of my people friends and love to be close by. I am not a fan of other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I have not been around cats before but may be open to trying. Do you have room for an old girl to rest and enjoy her golden years? If you think your home is right for me then come down and lets meet.---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. Story
Hi, I'm Prince! I am a big, goofy ball of energy and love. I was living in a hoarder's home, and now I am looking for my furever home where I can be the center of your heart. I have a lot to learn as far as basic commands and canine manners, but I am eager to please and very food motivated. I am open to living with other animals given proper introduction, although I can come on a bit strong. I am not a fan of sharing what's mine, so any kids in the home should be 13 and older, who can respect my boundaries. I could be a wonderful addition to your family if you'll give me a chance. I am a lovely pup who deserves a better life and companionship.
