Story
CYAN is a very sweet and playful mixed breed dog. He's around 1 yr and 50lbs. He's so submissive and sweet, active and loves to give kisses. He gets along well with other dogs and appears non-reactive to cats (although he does not live with any). He would be fine with small children and adults alike. He enjoys chew toys and bones of all kinds and adores wrestling with anyone who will give him the time of day! He walks gently on a leash and shares the pillow nicely in bed! He is fostered in Houston TX and will not be transported until adopted. His fee is $850. You may pick him up in Texas or we can discuss flying him to you. The first step in adoption is to fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org.

Story
The most beautiful holiday girly has landed at the shelter- is Noelle the festive spirit you need this season?Noelle is a very sweet girl who is looking for someone to spend the rest of her days with. She is a great companion but will require slow introductions with both unfamiliar people and animals. Noelle also would thrive in a home without small children due to fear. She walks with ease on the leash and consistently checks in on her handler. She loves treats, especially hot dogs! If you think you and Noelle may be a perfect match, come visit her at DCHS!Size: ~37 lbsMedical History: I appear to be a happy and healthy dog, but it`s always a good idea to get me established with a vet soon after adoption to make sure I stay that way!Adoption Fee: $275 + tax

Story
Meet Romeo, a handsome heartthrob who`s looking for a patient family who will help him learn to navigate the big scary world! Though he`s a lover at heart, this shy guy needs time to warm up, espeically with men, so he prefers a gentle `slow-burn romance.` Romeo can`t go to a home with small children, as fast movements make him say, `Parting is such a sweet sorrrow, but maybe not today.` Once he trusts you, he`ll show you his true Romeo-tic side with soft affection and quiet companionship! He may be timid, but he`s ready to steal thy heart in the right environment! If you`re looking for a sweet boy who just needs time to blossom, Romeo might be your perfect match! Come into the adoption center to meet him!Medical History: Romeo does have some seasonal allergies and two masses on top of his head that will need to continute to be monitored in the future. It is always a good idea to introduce Romeo to his new vet for a checkup once settled into his new home. Weight: ~75 lbsAdoption Fee: $200+ tax.

Story
Hope is being fostered in LA. Hope is a sweet and happy girl. She does have some vision loss. Hope is fit, healthy and a very loyal pup full of energy and love. She is ready to fill your days with adventure and nights with cuddling. Hope is looking for a daytime exercise partner with whom she can run, play with toys, engage in games of catch, tug of war and sometimes long silly leaps just for fun. In the evening a snuggle buddy is in order so she can cuddle close with her head on the lap of her human. Hope is very loyal and loving to her person. This sweetheart is well behaved and very likeable. She does well on a leash and is really great about going to her kennel when asked. Hope enjoys meeting new people and they, her. She is so adored at the vets office that they treat her like the “Belle of the Ball” giving her all kinds of special attention and loving. Hope, with all her positive qualities is still a youngster and often doesn’t know her own strength, so she can sometimes play rough. Slow introductions would be best. She plays well with most dogs, but prefers unassertive canine friends and would do well in a home without small children or cats. (Transports within 18 hours travel time are available to approved adopter.) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Spirit Spirit may be a puppy with a disability, but don’t tell her that—she has no idea! This happy, affectionate girl is full of love and joy. Her favorite things include snuggling on a soft bed or curling up right in your lap for a nap after a good play session. Spirit is paralyzed in her back end due to a stable spinal fracture that cannot be surgically repaired. She cannot use her back legs and has no control over stool or urine, but her elimination is reflexive and does not require intervention as long as amounts remain normal. Despite this, Spirit doesn’t let her condition slow her down one bit—she’s just as playful and silly as any other pup. She’s very social and loves meeting new people, especially kids. Spirit gets along well with other dogs and is curious about cats—though her playful energy and eagerness to chase may be a bit much for some feline friends. Like most puppies, Spirit is learning the ropes of the world. She’s working on playing fetch, enjoys sunny days outdoors, and thinks wagon rides are the best way to go on walks. She’s even dipped her paws into swimming at the lake! True to puppy form, she does like to explore the world with her mouth, so she’ll need continued guidance as she grows. At night, Spirit settles nicely in her crate and sleeps soundly when things are quiet. She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly—always ready for fun, but happiest snuggled up next to her people. If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient puppy who will bring sunshine, silliness, and snuggles into your life, Spirit just might be your match! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
