Story
Meet Tika! Hello there, my name is Tika! I'm a senior lady now, weighing 55 pounds. Much like the meaning of my name, sun maiden, or flower, I am as beautiful as they come. And pretty perfect if I do say so myself! I'm good with all dogs, big or small, and I'd likely do well with kids, too. But cats, well, I'll just say "no thank you" about them. I'm the very best girl and go potty outside. I'd love having a fenced yard to run in, but I also am fine with walks and going to the dog park! I love my humans, and since I was always a loved member of a family until my owner passed away, I can't wait to be a part of a family again! I love being with my foster mom, but she says that I'm ready to move on to a forever family of my own. I live in an apartment here, and I don't make a single peep, but I'd really love to live in a house with more room. I love to snuggle with my people, but I also really enjoy my crate! Sometimes, I'm hesitant to jump on the furniture, so I may need a little encouragement or even a little boost up by you to watch a good episode of FRIENDS. That's what we will be forever! The best of friends. And if you have another doggo that I can be friends with, well, that's just an added bonus! *Tika will be traveling to WI on March 3rd and can go to her forever home then. Story
Meet Rue! Hey, y'all, my name is Rue! Are you ready to hear about the sweetest girl who has gone through some not so sweet times? Well, have a sit down and read a little about me! Let's start with the good. I'm a super good girl, and as a senior, I've got my pottying outside down to a science. I'll even let you know with a bark when I'm done out there! I'm about 40 pounds and get along with other dogs and cats, too. I lived with a bunch of them in my past. I live with a really little human right now, so I think I'd do well with small humans who are nice to me. The not so nice things about my past are that I was originally part of a welfare investigation but was dumped with another dog. Some of my behaviors at the shelter that found me say I wasn't taken very good care of. I would go into the dog house when I was out in the yard and stir up the straw in there like I was looking for some warmth. But now I'm told I'll never have to worry about that stuff for the rest of my life! I'm a really gentle girl, and I only want to make my humans happy. I know how to sit when you tell me to, but when you leave, I'll try to follow you out the door so I can be with you. I enjoy car rides and attention. I'll lay by you on the couch, and I'm enjoying finding out what the finer things in life are! I probably never knew what a dog bed or toys were, and now I get to see for myself what all the talk is regarding those things! Now I just need to find my forever people who are willing to show me how great life can be. Are you ready to be my forever? *Rue is being fostered in Edgar, WI. Story
Hi there, my name is Slim Jim. Or sometimes it's Bubba. Or Bubby. Or Slimbo. Or Rambo. I have a lot of names. My foster family says I have a big heart, big smarts, and big farts!  I have a big heart because I love lots of stuff, like making new human friends and CAR RIDES. Seriously I have no sense of stranger danger and will try to jump in anyone's car for a ride. I love a good chew treat and cheeseburgers. I love my blankie and sleeping all snuggled up in my crate, so will you please tuck me in every night? I love snuggles and giving kisses, but maybe bigger kids would be best for me because I REALLY get into the snuggles and don't want to accidentally knock a tiny human down. I do NOT love the cold or rainy weather, but I love dressing up in my sweaters and jackets to stay warm! I love butt scratches, tummy rubs, all kinds of adventures, and learning new things.    Speaking of learning new things, I have big smarts in this big noggin of mine! I pick up on new tricks super fast and already know how to sit, lay down, shake, wait, back (to sit in the back seat of the car), cross (the street), and turn left (I'm working on 'right'). I am great at food puzzles, and especially love my snuffle mat. I am crate trained and super polite on my leash when we're out for walks. I even know how to use agility equipment and am learning how to use a doggy treadmill. My recent record is 13 MPH!   My big farts are not so bad if I use a puzzle feeder, because then I don't eat so fast. It's this stubby, snorty nose of mine, I can't help but take in extra air.   There are a few things I don't love, mostly kitties (I want to eat them) and other dogs (they scare me). I take a cheap, daily anxiety medication (cost is under $10/mo) which helps me be more comfortable and my foster family has done a TON of training with me. They are sponsoring a private training session for whoever adopts me, to set me up for success in my new home!    Also, because I have such big smarts I take some things as a personal challenge. Crates and fences, for example. I think they are puzzles to be solved! I need a beefier crate than most dogs and a solid plan to keep me in the yard if I'm off-leash, because if that fence isn't solid like Mount Everest I am outtie! But I don't chew on or damage things in the house, don't worry about that.    I've been waiting for a home of my very own for far too long! So if you're looking for a Very Good Boy who you can have a lot of fun with, please reach out and ask for me, Slim Jim aka Bubba aka Bubby aka Slimbo aka Rambo.         Approximate DOB: 2021 Foster Home Location: Madison    If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful dogs, you can apply on our website: https://forms.gle/MGakwmFh92UiK9iM6     Please allow several days for us to process your application. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Adult (estimated between 2 and 7 years old, exact age unknown) Spayed female Currently 54 lbs. Playful and loving but slow to trust Gets along with dogs Looking for a home with children over the age of 14 years I'm on a journey to rediscover trust, love, and the joy of companionship! My past may have left me a bit reserved when meeting new people, but with a bit of time, love, and of course, some tasty treats, I become everyone's best friend in no time! I'm beginning to learn to trust again and have started to come out of my shell. There's nothing I love more than butt scratches and cuddles, and I'm generous with kisses to show my appreciation. I'm a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to stuffed toys with squeakers, and I've become quite the expert at fetching and bringing them back. With my excellent manners—knowing sit, down, and paw—I've even been upgraded to office dog status, where I help greet visitors with a wag of my tail. While I'm a real snuggle bug, I prefer a quiet environment, so a home with kids over the age of 14 would be the perfect fit for me. If you're seeking a gentle and well-mannered companion to join your family, I'm ready to love again!
