Story
Meet Romeo, a handsome heartthrob who`s looking for a patient family who will help him learn to navigate the big scary world! Though he`s a lover at heart, this shy guy needs time to warm up, espeically with men, so he prefers a gentle `slow-burn romance.` Romeo can`t go to a home with small children, as fast movements make him say, `Parting is such a sweet sorrrow, but maybe not today.` Once he trusts you, he`ll show you his true Romeo-tic side with soft affection and quiet companionship! He may be timid, but he`s ready to steal thy heart in the right environment! If you`re looking for a sweet boy who just needs time to blossom, Romeo might be your perfect match! Come into the adoption center to meet him!Medical History: Romeo does have some seasonal allergies and two masses on top of his head that will need to continute to be monitored in the future. It is always a good idea to introduce Romeo to his new vet for a checkup once settled into his new home. Weight: ~75 lbsAdoption Fee: $200+ tax.

***** Charlotte has been with us longer than we would like so she is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and her adoption fee has been reduced to $300. *****Hi, I`m Charlotte! I`m a friendly, social girl looking for a new forever home. I`ve been enjoying my time hanging out in an office here at the humane society because lots of people visit me and I get to watch other dogs walk by. There are lots of toys they let me play with, and I enjoy playing fetch or showing you my stuffie. When I`m happy, I act like a cat and knead a blanket. I really enjoy walks, too! My new family should be dedicated to using positive reinforcement techniques to help me learn good doggy manners. Please give me a lot of love and patience as I learn the ways of your home. Any other dogs in the home will need to be respectful of my nerves when first meeting them, but with a slow on-leash introduction, I will soon be ready to play! Please ask to meet me at the Adoption Center desk because I`m not in the main dog kennels.

Story
CYAN is a very sweet and playful mixed breed dog. He's around 1 yr and 50lbs. He's so submissive and sweet, active and loves to give kisses. He gets along well with other dogs and appears non-reactive to cats (although he does not live with any). He would be fine with small children and adults alike. He enjoys chew toys and bones of all kinds and adores wrestling with anyone who will give him the time of day! He walks gently on a leash and shares the pillow nicely in bed! He is fostered in Houston TX and will not be transported until adopted. His fee is $850. You may pick him up in Texas or we can discuss flying him to you. The first step in adoption is to fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org.

Story
Meet Spirit Spirit may be a puppy with a disability, but don’t tell her that—she has no idea! This happy, affectionate girl is full of love and joy. Her favorite things include snuggling on a soft bed or curling up right in your lap for a nap after a good play session. Spirit is paralyzed in her back end due to a stable spinal fracture that cannot be surgically repaired. She cannot use her back legs and has no control over stool or urine, but her elimination is reflexive and does not require intervention as long as amounts remain normal. Despite this, Spirit doesn’t let her condition slow her down one bit—she’s just as playful and silly as any other pup. She’s very social and loves meeting new people, especially kids. Spirit gets along well with other dogs and is curious about cats—though her playful energy and eagerness to chase may be a bit much for some feline friends. Like most puppies, Spirit is learning the ropes of the world. She’s working on playing fetch, enjoys sunny days outdoors, and thinks wagon rides are the best way to go on walks. She’s even dipped her paws into swimming at the lake! True to puppy form, she does like to explore the world with her mouth, so she’ll need continued guidance as she grows. At night, Spirit settles nicely in her crate and sleeps soundly when things are quiet. She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly—always ready for fun, but happiest snuggled up next to her people. If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient puppy who will bring sunshine, silliness, and snuggles into your life, Spirit just might be your match! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Linda is a 2 year old Pit/Terrier mix who recently came into our care as a stray. She did have an owner but sadly they did not come for her. Now she awaits YOU to be her family and give her a second chance at forever. She is the sweetest girl who adores everyone she has met, and loves to be cuddled. She is unique in her markings as her face looks just like the mask from Phantom of the Opera. Linda is up to date on vaccines, prevention, microchipped, dog friendly, and is already spayed. She is Heartworm Positive, but don't let that turn you away from such a sweet girl who deserves to live the rest of her life happy and healthy. Story
Meet Ophelia — a gentle, resilient soul finally stepping into the love she has always deserved. At just 2 years old, this beautiful pit mix has already weathered far more than most dogs ever should. Found as an emaciated stray and brought to Milwaukee Animal Control, Ophelia gave birth to her puppies only days later. Despite her condition, she poured every bit of strength into caring for them. Now that her pups are thriving, it’s Ophelia’s turn to be cherished. Ophelia’s foster family can’t say enough wonderful things about her. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and calm, with a soft spirit that shines through more every day. She does well in a crate overnight and for short stretches during the day, and eats peacefully alongside other dogs with no resource guarding at all. She gets along wonderfully with the resident dog (a friendly 60-lb male) and absolutely adores the children in the home — even choosing to sleep in bed with one of them when she’s not crated. Chaos doesn’t rattle her; loud kid energy and visitors don’t faze her in the slightest. She greets new people with a full-body tail wag and sometimes an excited hop, but she’s easily redirected with gentle guidance. Ophelia is still underweight and regaining strength, and while she walks well inside the home, she can pull strongly on leash in the yard — something that may increase as she continues to gain healthy weight. With continued patience and love, she will only keep blossoming. Ophelia is quiet, snuggly, and incredibly devoted — a dog who wants nothing more than to be close to her people and feel safe at last. After everything she’s overcome, she’s ready for a forever family who will show her the same unconditional love she has shown her puppies. If your home has room for a tender-hearted companion who radiates gratitude and sweetness, Ophelia may be the perfect addition to your family. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
