Story
Hello all! My name is Carter! I am a 11 years old! When I first came into the shelter I was a pretty nervous guy. But you wouldn`t think that when you come and visit with me now! My tail is always wagging and my nose is up in the air smelling all the smells. I love new people and I love to be pet, even more I love to give people kisses! I could use some training on simple things, but other than that I am the perfect dog! Come on into the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin and visit with me!*Carters care is being sponsored by Sean M. - Thank you Sean!

Story
Meet Carmy! Age: Adult Weight: 50 pounds Housetrained: yes Crate trained: I don't do well in crates and the stress of being in one makes my tummy upset. Good with: Dogs, cats, kids (I love the kiddos!) Special needs: I have separation anxiety, so I take meds to help me feel better I'm a super happy and energetic boy and I love my humans so much! My favorite thing ever is to be outside with you – whether we are going for a walk around the neighborhood, a hike in the woods, or playing fetch in the yard. An active forever family would be so much fun! I like to play tug of war, chew on bones, solve brain games, and shake my favorite stuffies. I am super smart (maybe a little too smart sometimes), so I love to learn new tricks for treat rewards. I'd enjoy having other furry friends in my forever home, so I don’t get too lonely when you are gone. I love to wrestle and chase my dog friends and I like to cuddle with my cat friends (if they let me).    Since I have separation anxiety, I'll need my medication and an understanding family that is willing to work with me as I get used to their routine. In my foster home, I am now comfortable being home by myself for up to 8 hours during the daytime, but it took me several weeks to work up to that much time alone without being stressed.   I'm a pretty quiet dude, but I do bark and jump up when I get really excited – mostly when we are about to go outside for a walk. I’ve been working on my listening skills when I’m excited or distracted and I am getting better! Treats help :) I’m a big cuddler, but, fair warning, I will take up all your personal space on the couch or bed because I like to snuggle close. I can’t wait to find a forever family that is willing learn and grow with me. I promise to pay you back with lots of love and kisses! Carmy is fostered in the Madison, WI area. Story
Meet Leena! Age: Senior Breed: Pittie mix Weight: 56 lbs Good with: dogs, cats, kids House trained: yes Crate trained: trusted to free roam when foster is out Roll out the red carpet because this perfect pittie(mix) princess is on the search for her forever home!! Leena is a senior (8-12 year old) gentle soul. Leena doesn’t mind kiddos, cats, dogs, adults, you name it!! She’s a lowkey gal that loves the finer things in life like naps, a Sunday cruise, and sniffaris. This senior lady would be a perfect fit for a home who doesn’t want any puppy nonsense: no chewing on socks, peeing on the carpet, or needing constant attention with this lovely lady. Leena is a great listener who will go with the flow, it’s even better if the flow is slow and calm. This happy lady doesn’t need a crate and doesn’t mind when you’re gone at work. She is excellent on a leash. Her recall is great, when she can hear you. This senior girl has some trouble hearing, so you would just need to work on getting her attention. Sometimes she gets little burst of energy and insist on playing fetch. Leena will let you know she needs to go potty by whining or going to the door. She will also let you know when she wants to go back in with a bark reminder. Leena has had quite the past. We don’t know everything, but we promise her future is bright and full of all the love she deserves. Leena is looking for someone who is patient, kind and doesn’t mind sharing their favorite couch or chair. What do you say? Need a cuddle buddy? House hippo? Couch potato? Pittie princess? Sunday cruise Partner? Leena can’t wait to meet you!! Leena is located in the Janesville, Wi area Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Henry! Age: senior Weight: 63 pounds Good with: kids, cats, dogs (I love EVERYONE!) House/crate trained: yes. I haven't had any accidents in my foster home, and foster mom tosses a treat in my crate and I just walk right in. Hey y'all, I'm Henry, the most handsome older gentleman, with the best smile, you'll probably ever meet! Plus, to add a little something extra, I'm well mannered and just love my humans! I enjoy car rides, shopping trips, meeting new people, snuggling, giving kisses, naps and having sniffari's in the yard (fenced or on a leash). I'm not the type of dog who will run away from home, but I don't have a great recall, and will wander away if not kept on a leash. I do need a boost getting in the car, but I'm super great about it, and appreciate the help from my humans greatly! I'm super great with all dogs and live with 2 Chihuahuas in my foster home. Man, they can be bossy sometimes! I'd make a perfect addition to any home, I just want someone to love! I hope you are ready to bring the bestest boy home! *Henry is being fostered in Green Bay, WI. *Henry has a neuter appointment scheduled for 10/28 Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Blair! Age: Senior Weight: 60 lbs Breed: Good with: dogs (her size or larger), no cats and no small children or dogs House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Blair is a sweet and loving pup who craves attention from her people, she’s quick to roll over for belly rubs and always eager to cuddle. Age is just a number for Blair, she has lots of energy and her ideal home is active and looking for an exercise buddy! She’s such a smart pup too, enrichment activities will be important to keep her busy as well. Blair is great with people and other dogs and has never met a stranger (canine or human). She is eager to play with her canine foster siblings and they are teaching her corrective actions when she’s getting a little too excited. It’s important for Blair to be in a home without small dogs, she does best with dogs that match her size and energy level. Blair LOVES giving kisses to both humans and dogs, so a home that is tolerant of her affection is necessary :) Blair is working on her leash manners, she’s very strong and enthusiastic on walks so consistent leash training is important. She could also benefit from a yard as she learns more leash skills, but it’s not a requirement. This loyal, cuddle buddy is looking for a BFF to keep her active and loved. Could that be you? Blair is fostered in the Marshfield, WI area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Charlotte! Age: Adult Weight: 48 pounds Breed: bulldog/pit mix (DNA test pending) Good with: Excellent with cats and dogs, does not live with children House/crate trained: yes Special needs: home with limited stairs, currently on medication that will need to continue for foreseeable future. Currently in physical therapy. Foster location: Menomonee Falls Charlotte is a sweet, easygoing pup who is happy to be leaving her past behind and enjoying the good life now that’s she’s become an Albert’s dog! Charlotte is dog and cat friendly and is enjoying all of the people she has met. She initially gets excited/jumpy when meeting groups of people but is working on settling quickly, she just loves to visit with people! She is house and crate trained and enjoys going on walks where she can show off her leash skills. Charlotte loves snoozing in warm spots and will continue to move throughout the day to ensure she’s napping in warm sunlight, such a cozy girl! Charlotte initially came into Albert’s care with skin issues/allergies and a bum leg. She has responded well to allergy meds as we identify the source of her allergies. She is currently taking pain meds to ease her leg pain and has recently started physical therapy. It is not yet determined what the next steps are for her leg but Albert’s continues to investigate what’s best for Charlotte and she’s taking her meds and PT like a champ. Charlotte is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. Shes calm and chill in most environments. She’s such a friendly and happy pup with so much love to give. She loves all the people she meets and loves going on adventure. She’s great in the car and is happy to ride shotgun. Is she the friendly, happy buddy that you’ve been looking for?
