Hi! I am Walter! Boy how did I get here you ask!? I showed up to eat at nice ladies home in Detroit and I was going to be a TNR kitty but during recovery after my neuter volunteers were wondering if I was friendly by the way I was acting. Sure enough I am! I am so happy to be inside safe and sound! I like to eat and I chat with you to get your attention! I have cleaned since being brought in. It is hard to say if I would get along with dogs but I was around alot of cats outside. If you are looking for a black and white kitty, I have heard humans say black and white cats are the ambassadors of cats due to our personalities, I would love to meet you! I hope you find your purrfect fur baby! Maybe it will be me! Story
See Peanut`s Transformation! From the Streets of Detroit to Lap Cat Just one day before February’s 2025 bitter cold set in, Peanut’s life changed forever. Peanut was rescued when a caretaker contacted a PAAW volunteer about a cat that started coming around that had a wound on the neck and was gurgling when breathing. The plan was to trap him and get him to a vet but Peanut didn`t show up the next morning, so a PAAW volunteer searched the neighborhood and managed to trap him just in time.We had to hold Peanut until we could get a vet appointment, but in just weeks of him being trapped, treated and neutered at the vet, Peanut who was dirty and a beat up tom cat who came in down and out, with an old abscess wound on his neck has had an INCREDIBLE transformation with his foster! Turns out with just a little bit of time, Peanut is a sweet and affectionate guy! Peanut likes being brushed and petted, soaking up every bit of love he missed for so long. He is already using a scratching post. Peanut`s foster and the volunteer that trapped him have given him a second chance at life, and now he’s ready for a forever home where he’ll never have to fight for survival again! The vet said Peanut tested FIV+, probably from all his year of being on the streets. We don’t know what Peanut has been through living outside, but we do know he deserves a great home with all the food he can eat! We are hoping he may be just the guy to add to your family! ***********FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission. Peanut~born~4/2/18_____A special adoption fee is offered for FIV+ cats and can give you and the cat years of love and companionship. Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.orgFIV+ info: paawarren.org/pet-resources/fiv-positive-cats***PAAW’s Cat Café is now open in Farmington Hills! Story
Meet Nora Bean! Nora Bean is a shy but sweet gray kitty with a soft Russian Blue-style coat. She was rescued from life outside and is still getting used to being around people, but she’s making steady progress in foster care. She is shy but with lots of love and patience she will continue to blossomShe enjoys pets and flops on her side wiggling around. She is starting to learn how to play with toys. She’s not the kind of cat who will run up to you right away, but with patience and lots of attention, she begins to show her affectionate side. Nora Bean does great with other cats and would likely benefit from having a calm, friendly feline companion! In a new home, she’ll need time to adjust and should start out in her own room where someone can spend time with her and shower her with love and help her feel safe. She’s not a lap cat (yet), but she’s a good and quiet little girl that deserves her loving home! If you’re patient and looking for a low-key cat to nurture and grow with, Nora Bean might be a great fit! Story
Hi! I am Sweetie Pie and I can give you a guess how I got that name! I am a friendly and loving little tortie girl! I was part of a big TNR project in Detroit and I was a little dumpy and pretty skinny so volunteers decided to hold onto me a little longer in a crate where they found out even though I was really scared they could pet me and it took off from there! My foster mom says I am very sweet. She is sorry she couldn`t get better pictures of me yet because when she comes in my room I run to her wanting to be pet and always angling to get pets from her! Sometimes really loud noses scare me but I am getting better! I also have gained some weight thanks to my foster mom and you can`t feel all the bones in my spine, it wasn`t easy on the streets! I like to talk to my foster mom, she says I don`t really meow it is more like chirps and squeaks which she thinks are very cute! I love hanging out in the cat tree or a kitty bed, it is so soft and comfy for me!I hope you pick me to meet and maybe add me to your family! Story
Hey there! I’m Cosmo! I’m a orange little guy with some seriously cool swirl markings my foster momma says! I’m playful, cuddly, and full of personality. I love my sister Luna, the two faced tortie so we are bonded pair looking for our forever home. If you hear someone racing through the house or batting a toy across the room, it’s probably me—or me and Luna together on one of our wild zoomie adventures. Like Luna, I also love to eat wet food, I am a growing boy! I was born on March 21, 2025, outside in Detroit. A kind person found me and my siblings when some of us had our eyes crusted over and needed help. There was another mom cat that had another litter so the 2 moms took care of all 7 of us kittens! There were also some wonderful people at a facility who were feeding us outside and really cared about us, but they were so glad to see us rescued and brought inside. We’re a bonded pair and we’d love to find a home together. We’ll be ready for adoption on June 15, 2025, and we promise to bring nonstop laugh and love to to our forever home! Story
Hi! I am momma Patches! My foster mom says I am a beautiful calico who is such a great mom! I was rescued with my 4 kittens and momma Sunshine and her 3 kittens from outside in Detroit. We have been taking care of and nursing all 7 kittens together. Our 2 little families get along so well! I love all the kittens! I am ready for my furever home as my kittens are ready to be adopted into their forever homes! I would do great alone or with one or some of the kittens or even with momma Sunshine. The rescue is wondering if we may actually be sisters or mother/daughter. I look forward to meeting you and finding my forever home! Story
Alphie and Sophie (not related) are two awesome black cats who we adore, but have been having some trouble with. Our two senior Boston Terriers are both struggling to defend themselves against these two, they get a little aggressive with our oldest especially, who is blind and deaf. And an upcoming move out-of-state has helped us make the difficult decision to rehome them. Theyre great, theyre chill. They just need to find better cat people. They are not necessarily bonded, though they have been together since seven and four months, respectively. They are both still less than a year old, Sophie being the older of the two. I hope they could stay together, but they have never been especially close, so maybe not imperative. We are moving in 6-8 weeks, so we are hoping to find them a home where they can be the sole focus of attention without feeling threatened by scared senior dogs. I would be happy to answer any inquiries, and Ill provide whatever information I can. TY!
