Story
Jojo is being fostered in Illinois. Has some vision.Hi. My name is Jojo. I am a 4-year-old boxer mix. I like to think of myself as a playful happy-go-lucky gal. I may not see you well because close objects are like shadows and a little blurry to me, but I know you are there. I get along well with all the cats and dogs in my foster home. I like cats (see https://youtu.be/t_3b0r0n9LY ). But I may need slow introductions with little feisty dogs. But I would love to go to a home that has many friendly 4-legged buddies.I like to be active and meet people and other dogs (see https://youtu.be/9LG4Cy9_kJI ). However, I am not too good with children because a lot of time kids either approach me too fast or gather around me, which makes me so scared that I have to give a warning snap. But I do love my walks. Even more, I love an open field that I can have all to myself so I can let out a lot of my energy (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nWkm8OssZU ). At home, I like to relax and sit at my spot while my foster daddy is doing his work. Everyday, I get to be petted and it makes me feel loved (see https://youtu.be/Y_-7FDicj-M ).I am housebroken. However, every once in a while, I have accidents because anxiety gets the best of me when I realize my foster dad has not been home for a while. I will do well in a home where someone is present 90-95 percent of time, perhaps with someone who works out of home or is an active retired person.Blind Dog Rescue has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Hello, I'm KORA, and if you're on the lookout for a lovable, active, and super-smart gal who can be your workout partner and couch warmer all in one, then your search ends here! I had a ruff start – rescued from a kill shelter, emaciated and pregnant. But, that's all in the past now, and all I want is a bright future filled with love. As a young adult pup, I'm seeking a family to call my own. I've discovered the joy of running around and playing in my foster home, and I know that's what I want in my forever home. I dream of a life without pain and sadness, and I believe the perfect family is out there for me. Some of my absolute favorite things include tennis balls, rubber balls – basically any ball! I'm super eager to learn and get along well with other dogs. My foster brother Rumpus is bigger than me, but he's gentle and has welcomed me into his family while I search for my own forever family. I'm all about love, and cuddling up with Rumpus or my foster family is the best feeling ever – it makes me feel so special. I would really like another dog to live with, I love my foster brother! Just one small thing – I have a high prey drive, so please, no kitties. They're just too tempting to chase. If you think you could be my forever person or family, head over to www.aarflove.org and complete an application. I'm hoping you are, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

Story
Lovey Dovey lives up to her name and is looking for a forever home with a cozy lap to snuggle. She has been living happily in a foster home with a resident senior dog and two adult humans:“Dovey brings lots of joy and laughter into our home with her sweet nature and goofy personality. She starts each day giving our dog kisses and greets us with beautiful songs, hugs and more kisses. We work full time and shes fine being left alone to roam free in the house. At the end of the day she welcomes us back with more jubilance and at night becomes the dog equivalent of a weighted blanket cuddling on the couch. She does great on car rides and is potty trained via walks and yard breaks. She gets excited for walks and is very strong on leash with a drive towards squirrels. She gets amped about fetch and destroying stuffies so sometimes we need to help her set limits. Though she’s a lively 11, she does enjoy her senior moments too like an afternoon snooze in a dog bed or sun bathing in the yard. Dovey was restless in the shelter kennel and does not like to be contained in kennels, behind baby gates, or behind closed bedroom doors. If you’re ready for endless love and affection this big lap dog is the girl for you.”Dovey is selective with her dog friends (liking some but not others). This is common as dogs age. Adopters should be mindful that she may not enjoy high traffic dog areas like dog parks or dog beaches. Any resident dogs should meet prior to adoption to see how the two get along. Dovey is looking for a retirement home to thrive in. Could that be with you? Her adoption fee is sponsored thanks to the Silver Whisker’s Society, a fund aiming to get often overlooked seniors out of the Shelter! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Hank was adopted from the humane society of silicon valley as a 10-week puppy and is now 6 years old. Hank is goofy and playful and enjoys learning new tricks. He enjoys howling along with sirens as they pass by. However, he is reactive around other dogs (he was attacked by off leash dogs on two occasions) and has become increasingly guarding of his food against our cats (no issues with humans) and it's no longer safe to have him in our house. Ideally he would be an "only dog" in a cat- and child-free home.

Meet Husky Litter_Alex_Courtesy Post Please note: This is a courtesy post. SVAR is supporting the foster's efforts to find homes. This will be a private adoption. Please submit an application, we will put you in touch with the foster directly. Meet Alex! Born in mid-Nov, this little cutie is as lovable as his name suggests. He and his siblings—who we suspect are husky mixes—were abandoned at a shelter near Apple Valley but were lucky enough to be rescued by a good Samaritan. Now, they've made their way to the Bay Area, where we're helping them find families who will love them forever! Alex is a fun-loving, affectionate pup who’s always up for an adventure. Like any husky, he’s smart, energetic, and a little mischievous—in the best way! He loves to play, explore, and make new friends, whether they have two legs or four. When he’s not busy having fun, he’s happy to soak up attention and cuddle up for some love. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate pup with a big personality, Alex might just be your perfect match If you would like to meet Alex or his siblings, please fill out an application at https://svanimalrescue.org/
