Story
Ferdinand is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and about 30% head with a face that just begs to be squished and cuddled. However, Ferdinand’s current owner has had several major life changes and is unable to give him the cuddles and attention that he needs to be happy and healthy anymore. Ferdinand is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and in great health. He does require a limited-ingredient diet, but there are several readily available brands that meet the requirement and he’s not a picky eater. Recently, Ferdinand has completed basic training and is very good at loose leash walking and heeling. He can sit and stay on command and has (mostly) learned “leave it.” He is very loyal and this occasionally translates into protective behaviors. However, once he warms up, he’s all about the snuggles and is convinced he’s a 60-pound lap dog. Ferdinand’s challenge is that he needs supervision when playing with toys to make sure that he doesn’t get too excited and swallow them..

Story
Gentle Makan wants nothing more than a human he can trust and love.     Makan is a handsome two-year-old pittie mix.  People can’t help but admire his striking hazel eyes and silly ears!  Makan looks to his humans for social cues; if you tell him that a person is safe, and that person approaches him calmly, Makan will offer a polite paw for his new friend to shake.  For a really good treat, Makan may even give his new friend a nose boop or gentle thank-you kisses!  You’ll know it’s true love if he drapes himself across a lap and looks back to say, “I’d like cuddles now, please.”   Makan is smart and enjoys learning new and fun games, tricks, and cues, which makes training fun and rewarding for all involved. He already is house-trained and takes treats gently.  Makan also knows his basic cues (sit, stay, shake, high-five, lie down, drop, wait, go find, come and touch).     When he is happy, Makan shows his goofy side by running and jumping in a playful gallop!  His ideal home will continue to use reward-based training methods to maintain the cues that he knows and teach him fun and new cues.  They will also provide him with daily exercise and mental stimulation by going on walks and sniff-aris and offering him daily interactive food toys or food puzzles.     Makan shares the property with a dog-friend and plays nicely with him and with other dogs.  Makan has spent several days with the rescue founder and 2 cats in a small apartment. He is very respectful of the cats, so if you have a dog savvy cat, they will love having him around.      In exchange for kindness, this faithful boy will adore you fur-ever. Foster  to adopt is an option!    If you are interested to meet Makan and/or learn more about him, please help us by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow September 16, 2023, 12:14 am

Story
Buddy’s name is apt, because he’ll be your BFF!   This gentle giant loves people, other dogs, and is even courteous to cats.  Unfailingly polite, Buddy enjoys meeting new friends and will ask for pets after a brief introduction.  When bothered by a rude or aggressive dog, Buddy backs away to defuse the situation, and calmly shows that dog how a real gentleman behaves.  Buddy is so well-mannered that he rarely even barks!   Always considerate, Buddy will adjust his activity level to your schedule.  If you have time for a long sniff-ari or swim, Buddy would love that!  But if you need to give him a quick walk or play session before getting back to work, Buddy is equally happy to snooze on the couch next to you for the rest of the day.  Your companionship is what matters most.   Smart Buddy already knows how to sit, wait, jump, come when called, touch your hand for a treat, walk nicely on leash, and wait patiently for his dinner.  He even knows that he needs to potty outside!  Because he is treat-motivated and eager-to-please, Buddy is fun and rewarding to train.     Buddy would do well with an older human sibling; he likes kids, but doesn’t always understand his own size!  He also would enjoy a home where he could wrestle with a similarly strong and energetic dog-sibling.  Buddy could live with a dog-savvy cat after an introduction.   If you like to arrange a meeting with Buddy, please fill out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNowSeptember 16, 2023, 12:14 am

Story
UPDATE:  Cooper is now walking and we have retired his wheelchair!! Cooper  is the sweetest, most determined puppy. When we rescued Cooper, he was not using his back legs. He is receiving acupuncture and laser therapy. We don't know if Cooper will walk again, but we are seeing improvements, and he has recently been standing on his own and has taken a few steps as well.  He gets along great in his wheelchair, donated by  ChetakStrong ).   He is really a sweet, friendly, and lovable dog.  He is an excellent snuggle buddy who loves curling up on the couch with you.  Cooper travels nicely in the car.    Energy Level?  Typical puppy: loves to play and then naps to recover. House trained?  Yes, Cooper can poop and pee on his own. He can hold it all night and pees first thing in the morning when he goes out in his wheelchair.  He is learning to give us clues when he needs to go potty.  We take him out in the chair to potty regularly.  Describe how they are on leash?  He loves walking alongside you in his chair and exploring the outdoors. He is a smart boy who can navigate the backyard in his chair. Describe how they are with other dogs?  Cooper is great with dogs, from 5-pound Chihuahuas to dogs the same size or larger.  He plays nicely, and it is very submissive.   Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Cooper was introduced to the resident cat. He was curious and wanted to play but backed off when warned. Supervision is advised. Commands they know?  Cooper knows "go potty."  He also knows his name. What are their favorite things?  Cooper is a loyal companion and loves being with you.  He loves toys and Kongs filled with treats. How are they when left alone?   How long have they been left alone?  Cooper is fine when left alone.  He is not destructive.  He has been left for 4 hours alone.   Where do they sleep?  Cooper sleeps either on his dog bed or in a crate. What is their ideal home?  Cooper is looking for a family or a person who is willing to support his needs and, in return, reap the benefits of all the love and companionship that Cooper has to offer. &#226&#128&#139 Cooper is well behaved and travels nicely in the car so he would love a person who takes him everywhere with them.  Our Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online application:   www.everypetsdream.org/adopt  and  we will have everything we need to know to call you back and set up an appointment.  Follow us:  Facebook  and  Instagram . Kaluha would love a quiet, adult only home where she can be the only dog (or live with a calm, peaceful co-exister canine). Story
Gage is a beautiful stocky blue nose American Staffordshire, estimated to be 5 years old. He has shown that he can live well with both female and male dogs, but no small ones. He loves kids and humans (sometimes a little too much with the kisses). He loves to play, loves to be pet, loves to go for walks. He has spent 2 weeks at a board and train with Wolf Mother K9 to work on barrier reactivity, structure, and overall manners. Unsurprisingly so, he succeeded all expectations. He is healthy, no known allergies, potty trained, crate trained, and he can do fine in a crate as well if he needs to be left home during the work day. He cannot be homed with cats and no small dogs, and since he's like a bull in a china shop, kids aged 10+ are best. Recently, Gage showed us that he is tolerant of chickens! His foster has taken in some chickens and Gage is happy as a clam next to them and does not react to their noises/chirps Gage is currently being fostered in Hollister, CA. If you're interested in adopting this lovable hunk, please apply on our website: www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Walter, here. Dropping by to say hi! Walter is a young, happy boy, estimated to be 2 years old and was saved from the euthanasia list at Stanislaus county shelter. He is a goofy, yet mellow boy, and love snuggles especially with other dogs! He does need slow introductions to dogs but the love he has for them after is beautiful. He loves playing with his foster sister (dog) and taking naps with her when he can. He enjoys taking walks and being with his people just as much. He is a strong guy, so a confident handler would be best as he does have some prey drive and can be reactive to other dogs he doesn't know. He is currently being fostered in Chico, CA. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application on my rescue's website. www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Available for Foster/Foster to AdoptCarl is a 6 year-old, 60lb English Bulldog mix. Through absolutely no fault of his own but due to a change in his adopters' circumstances, Carl finds himself in need of a new forever home. SV Pet Project is helping his current family to find a loving foster or foster to adopt home for this special boy. Carl enjoys snuggles with his humans, short daily walks, and hanging out at his local coffee shop where he gets attention and treats from everyone who meets his sweet, squishy face. While Carl is dog selective, he can live in companionable cohabitation with another dog who does not push his boundaries. Like many older English Bulldog-type pups, Carl suffers from skin allergies and chronic ear issues. He also is beginning to feel his age in his joints. He requires daily medication, wipes and attention to his grooming and personal hygiene. He easily tolerates this added attention, and loves feeling great! Experience and love of the English Bulldog is a huge plus for Carl's future home. Carl was an awesome SVPP foster dog a few years ago, and we are happy to welcome him back. We just need a loving foster or foster to adopt home ready to give him the attention and stability he so richly deserves. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetprojectVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2023, 10:45 pm
