Meet Cookie! A staff favorite at the Milo Sanctuary -she is no problem and is well loved, though really wants a home! This 75-pound bundle of joy is a goofy, affectionate sweetheart who absolutely adores people. Cookie loves to snuggle and thrives on attention. While she can be a bit selective with other dogs—especially on leash—she does well with slow, proper introductions. Cookie is smart, knows a variety of commands, is fully house-trained, and highly food motivated (which makes training a breeze!). Because of her size and energy, she’d do best in a home without small, young children, though dog-savvy kids aged 10 and up would be just fine. Cookie is full of life and ready to join you on all your adventures!

A spotted muzzle is about the only thing this lovely big pup has in common with a Ladybug, well cuteness too, but here she is a soft, furry love-bug. Calm for a pup which is typical for a Guardian breed, yet she is athletic and playful. At 4 months she weighs 26 pounds and is likely to grow to 75 or so pounds. She is observant, friendly and ready to start learning about life with a family and ideally some other animals to integrate with, watch over, and play with! We think she may well be part Herding breed as well, perhaps red Heeler, hard to say, but she is for sure adorable and soft! Please read up or find out more about Guardian breeds, though she appears to be mixed with herding breed, this girl will train up and be a wonderful buddy for outdoor adventures and rolling around and playing with human siblings, and other animal friends.

Story

We adopted Pepper when we assume she was 1 y.o. from a shelter in NV, while we lived at the time in the mountains of California. Since then we've had to move to the city for work and it's been stressful for Pepper. Pepper is the sweetest in-home dog, but the city is very stressful for her. She is unpredictable around other dogs, and has extreme dog focus when she sees them. She has to be cautiously introduced to adults, but is good around children / kids. She needs to have a strong handler outside the home. In the home, she is incredibly sweet and gentle. She is classic for her breeds (30% pyrenees, 30% anatolian, 30% mutt mostly lab) and is a guardian. Pepper needs to be on a ranch / in a home in a more remote area or suburban area where she doesn't have to walk on public streets, worried about bikes, scooters and skateboards rushing by. If we find a loving home, we would be glad to help make a donation and cover her costs.

Meet Daisy! The sweetest puppy ever. She is a mix between great Pyrnees and Anatolian Shepard. There was a litter is 12 and we saved 8 of them. The 4 other the owners had given away. We are so grateful that we did because they are absolute sweethearts. Daisy is about 4 months old, going to be spayed and finishing vaccines. She is also chipped. We would love for you to meet her. Meet Winnie, a sweet Anatolian Shepherd mix who is ready to find her forever home. At about one year old and 65 pounds, Winnie is a gentle girl who has made wonderful progress in foster care. Though she was initially nervous in the home, she quickly came out of her shell and adapted beautifully. She would thrive with a patient family willing to continue building her confidence. At home, Winnie has been an excellent house guest! She is fully potty trained and is making progress with crate training. She enjoys entertaining herself with toys and bones, going for neighborhood walks, exploring backyard scents, watching TV, and following her people around the house. Winnie still has a puppy spirit, occasionally stealing shoes and bringing them to her people. Winnie is very dog-friendly and currently lives happily with a male dog. She also recently had a wonderful time at doggy daycare, playing and relaxing with several other dogs. She enjoys canine companionship and may benefit from having a dog sibling. Winnie did well meeting cats and will likely live with them after a proper introduction. She has also proven to be good with children, proving she would make a wonderful addition to a variety of households. Winnie is an excellent walking companion and rarely pulls on leash. She could even make a great jogging buddy! She rides well in the car and loves watching the world go by through the window. Recently, Winnie went on her first hike, where she was able to show off her impeccable car and leash manners. She even enjoyed a swim in the lake! Winnie is patiently waiting to meet her forever family.
