Story
Meet Winnie, a sweet Anatolian Shepherd mix who is ready to find her forever home. At about one year old and 65 pounds, Winnie is a gentle girl who has made wonderful progress in foster care. Though she was initially nervous in the home, she quickly came out of her shell and adapted beautifully. She would thrive with a patient family willing to continue building her confidence. At home, Winnie has been an excellent house guest! She is fully potty trained and is making progress with crate training. She enjoys entertaining herself with toys and bones, going for neighborhood walks, exploring backyard scents, watching TV, and following her people around the house. Winnie still has a puppy spirit, occasionally stealing shoes and bringing them to her people. Winnie is very dog-friendly and currently lives happily with a male dog. She also recently had a wonderful time at doggy daycare, playing and relaxing with several other dogs. She enjoys canine companionship and may benefit from having a dog sibling. Winnie did well meeting cats and will likely live with them after a proper introduction. She has also proven to be good with children, proving she would make a wonderful addition to a variety of households. Winnie is an excellent walking companion and rarely pulls on leash. She could even make a great jogging buddy! She rides well in the car and loves watching the world go by through the window. Recently, Winnie went on her first hike, where she was able to show off her impeccable car and leash manners. She even enjoyed a swim in the lake! Winnie is patiently waiting to meet her forever family. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete an application at 1luckydogrescue.org or contact Tara at tararuchonnet@gmail.com with information about the home you would provide for Winnie.

Story
🐾 Judge 🧑‍⚖️ Judge is a 5 yr old male Anatolian Shepherd who is a true representation of his breed. 🐕 He is an independent, self-sufficient boy who is not particularly motivated by food or toys. Rather than seeking constant interaction, Judge is happiest when he can observe his surroundings and do things at his own pace. 🌳 Yard Time: When given access to a yard, Judge enjoys walking the perimeter and carefully patrolling the property. Once he has completed his rounds, he will find a comfortable spot to settle down and keep watch over his surroundings. 👀 His natural guardian instincts are very apparent! 🧼 Grooming: Judge allows brushing all over and handles it well. He is still working on accepting bath time and is not quite a fan of those yet. 🛁 🚗 Car Rides: Judge is not yet comfortable in the car and will need some time, patience, and positive experiences to help him become more relaxed with traveling. 🐕 Other Dogs: Judge can be very stiff and awkward around other dogs. However, he has not shown any negative behaviors toward them. Calm, patient introductions and continued positive experiences will be important as he learns to feel more comfortable. 😺 Cats: Not tested with cats ❤️ Overall: Judge is a dignified, independent Anatolian Shepherd with strong natural guardian instincts. He is not your typical food or toy-motivated dog, he is simply a boy who enjoys patrolling his territory, finding a good lookout spot, and taking in the world around him. 🏡👀 He will do best with someone who understands and appreciates the unique personality of the Anatolian Shepherd and is willing to give him the time and patience he needs to build confidence. 🐾

Story
Mr. Pickles may technically be a dog, but with his extra-large size and larger-than-life personality, this guy is arguably more akin to a horse! He’s got plenty of personality packed into that enormous frame, and he’s a dog with two very distinct sides. One is a silly, youngster who is always ready to show off his playful side, while the other is more serious and cautious, needing a little time and encouragement to discover that the world isn’t such a scary place. Mr. Pickles approaches new people, places, and experiences with curiosity, slowly investigating everything until he decides it’s safe. He is still a bit unsure about leashed walks, so he’ll need a patient home willing to help him build his confidence and learn at his own pace. But even when Mr. Pickles is feeling a little unsure, there’s a wonderfully goofy guy hiding underneath it all!
