Story
Jewel's story is a heartbreaking one. It took us over a year to get her. She had an owner in Rosarito Mexico, but he would not feed her and only used her for breeding and guarding the property. Her last 2 litters came into our rescue very sick because of his overwhelming neglect. He only surrendered them when he thought they were going to die and he didn't want to deal with that "inconvenience." But after her last litter passed away we used that as the momentum to finally push him to allow us to take her. Because of the laws in Mexico you cant just steal a dog that has a legal owner without physical abuse videoed so we needed his permission to take her. I'll never forget the first time she came in the house, she wanted to so badly, and the moment she realized that she now had a bed in the house she lost it! She has the sweetest and sunniest disposition we have ever met! All she wants is love and attention. Her favorite are hugs, they solve any situation. If she is naughty, she needs a hug. If its beautiful out, she wants a hug. She is very smart and learns new skills quickly. She will do anything for pets and snuggles!

Story
The one with that golden paw! Hi guys! My name is Midas, and everything I touch, becomes my family! I am a 2 year old, 42 lb male Australian Cattledog mix. I have been fixed and working hard on my good manners. I am bathroom and crate trained and working on leash walking skills. So what’s that on my nose you ask? The very sign of human cruelty. I had a so-called owner who took a machete to my face and neck. Pris from Los Adoptables took me in very kindly and then TAP stepped in to bring me to my most amazing foster home. Pris cared for me and found out I was fully blind but with medical intervention, I have regained vision. I do have cataracts and partial retinal detachment. I will have a follow up with an eye specialist in about 3 months wherever my new family wants to take me and they can decide if I need a surgery at that point. Now that’s out of the way, let’s focus on my golden qualities. Do you like class clowns? I am that! I keep everyone in splits with my high energy fun loving nature and goofy antics. Being a cattledog, I love work and play and tricks and treats! From lounging on the couch watching tv to going to the park and playing for what seems like forever I am the boy that can do it all. I am very dog friendly and having a playful dog playmate will keep me so happy! I have met kids and get along with all ages, but please know cats are not a good fit for me! My foster mama is astounded that in spite of seeing unexplainable cruelty, I have so much love in my heart! What can I say, I am the golden child afterall! I would love a home with a yard where I can play and hang out with my doggo sibling. I would love mental and physical enrichment and will make a great workout companion. And when you need a TV date? Just call me and we will be snuggle buddies. If you want that loving touch in your life, you better meet me! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1938594##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Paloma: The Quirky Canine Queen of Chaos!** At approximately 6 dog years young, Paloma's journey from the dusty streets of Mexico to the comfort of a foster home is nothing short of a telenovela. Rescued with a motley crew of canines, she initially treated the rescue facility like a haunted house, only without the ghosts - unless you count her own ghost-like fear. Paloma's social resume reads like a Tinder profile for a canine comedian. She's a bit skittish in new situations, but once she's got the lay of the land, she struts around like the canine royalty she believes she is. Give her a dog her size, and she's the life of the party. But, oh, small dogs beware – Paloma's got a strong opinion about your stature, and she's not afraid to express it with a diva-like flair. She's a connoisseur of humans, with a preference for the XY chromosome club. Sorry, ladies, she's a bit of a man's dog. Foster dad, in particular, holds a special place in her heart. Paloma's morning routine is not for the faint of heart. Her breakfast anticipation reaches operatic levels, and she serenades the household with what can only be described as a dinosaur's morning aria. Earplugs recommended. Now, let's talk about trust falls. Forget team-building exercises; Paloma invented the trust fall. She randomly throws herself onto her back, demanding belly rubs. Special food? Check. Allergies? Check. Fashionable lint belly button? Double-check. Paloma is not just a dog; she's a symphony of quirks, a maestro of mischief, and a snuggle aficionado. Oh, did we mention she's an avid hiker and camper? Just kidding – she tried it once and hated it. Short walks are her jam – anything longer, and she'll give you the stink-eye that says, "Why are we not on the couch?" Adopt Paloma – because who needs a dull, ordinary pet when you can have the canine chaos queen herself?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 17, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever home wanted!!!!  Meet Levi the Puppy!!!!   Levi entered the shelter system as a stray puppy with his siblings.  Sadly they all got adopted and Levi was listed for euthanasia due to his time in the shelter.  Luckily a foster stepped up and we were able to rescue him.  Levi is a young cattle dog lab mix puppy with a thin build that will likely grow to be around 40-45 pounds.  Levi's foster mom says  he is doing great, a total sweetheart, lapdog.  He wants to sit on your lap and cuddle whenever he can. He’s fully housebroken, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggie door. He knows some commands- sit, down, stay, back. He loves the beach and all other dogs so far. He comes back to you when called, loves all toys and likes to collect them and put them in a pile (maybe just trying to hide them from the other dogs but it’s incredibly cute!). He's a good jogging partner and easy to walk. He’s well mannered in the car and is happy to sit with you for hours at the coffee shop.    Levi is looking for a family that is committed to puppy training and socialization to help him grow into the best dog possible.  If Levi sounds like the right dog for your family email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Levi is located in Southern California. Story
Max is the dog on the left in this photo, the black and tan. She is a beautiful young girl who was initially rescued as a small puppy with her family from a farm in the Central Valley where they were abandoned. She has been living with a foster and now she needs to find her forever family. She is very sweet, very playful, has lots of energy, and loves her people. She is dog friendly, not sure about cats. She'd be a great dog for an active person or family. She will need a decent sized yard to run around in, and some practice going on walks, since her current caregiver hasn't taken her on walks. She is good about going in her crate when she is told. She will need to be spayed, but is up to date on all vaccinations and is in perfect health. Please contact me at cmiller927@cox.net if interested in this girl, thank you!! **I'm having trouble getting her photo on here for some reason, but I can text or email you her photo --
