Story
Meet Krudler! His name is a joke from the Simpsons, and this big goober is full of laughs. He aims to please and he loves to play - he can't get enough of the ball, frisbee, flirt pole, & tug rope. He'll also play solo, flinging soft toys and balls on his own in the yard. He loves to wrestle with known dog friends, and he's a quick learner when it comes to tricks and commands. After a long day he loves nothing more than to curl up in your lap and bathe you in kisses. Like many cattle dogs, Krud is very sensitive and easily overwhelmed in new environments. He struggles to focus on his handler outside of the home. He needs time & patience when meeting new human & canine friends, and he's polite with indoor cats. He would do best with an experienced working dog handler in a home with adults. He can be pushy with some dog friends and needs guidance to know when to relax. He has a strong drive to herd large moving objects. He has excellent house manners and is crate and muzzle trained.

Story
How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by a community member on October 25, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Say hello to Haze, a sweet, active girl in search of a calm, patient home to help her feel safe and understood. New environments and unfamiliar people can be overwhelming for her, but with slow introductions, soft voices and plenty of tasty treats, she warms up and shows her affectionate side. Once comfortable, Haze walks nicely on leash and enjoys pets. She's more of a "quiet home" kind of dog and would do best in a low-traffic setting with older children who can respect her space. Haze has been known to be selective about her dog friends, so she's looking for a home where she can be your one and only canine companion. She's not a candidate for dog parks or other off-leash venues, but there are plenty of other activities you can do together to strengthen your bond! With structure, understanding and gentle guidance, this lovely girl is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving friend. If you are looking for an active pup who will keep you on your toes, visit us and ask about Haze today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. He has been easy to train per his foster - he remembers what he should do and what he shouldn't do. This happy boy is always ready to join you for a walk, playtime or a relaxing cuddle session. He loves to go for adventures and rides well in the car. He is ready to make friends everywhere he goes and will solicit pets and attention from anyone willing to say hello. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Paloma: The Snuggle Queen and Couch Connoisseur** Looking for a calm, loving, already-house-trained dog who won’t eat your couch or your shoes? Meet Paloma — your low-maintenance, big-hearted best friend with a few quirks and a whole lot of love to give. Paloma is the kind of dog who thrives in a quiet home with predictable routines. She’s not here for chaos, loud toddlers, or surprise parties. But if you're the type who wants a loyal sidekick to binge-watch crime shows, hang out while you garden, or go for easy walks, she’s your girl. Yes — Paloma has EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) and a mild liver issue. BUT before you click away — here’s the deal: She just needs a daily enzyme sprinkled on her food and a liver supplement. That’s it. No needles. No drama. Plus, her current meds cost less than your monthly coffee habit. And she’s totally stable on her regimen — no mystery illnesses here. Paloma’s great with polite dogs, walks well on leash, and is fully crate and house-trained. She prefers calm energy, so rowdy puppies or wild playdates aren’t her jam. But if you want a chill vibe and a gentle spirit? She’s a total catch. Paloma’s been overlooked for far too long, but the truth is — she’s a gem. Quietly resilient, deeply affectionate, and perfectly imperfect in all the best ways. Apply to meet Paloma today — because love doesn’t always come wrapped in puppy chaos. Sometimes, it shows up wearing a doggy sweater and waiting patiently for someone to notice her.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2025, 12:47 am
