Meet Aston – Your Future Snuggle Buddy and Playmate! Age: 13 weeks Weight: 19 pounds— with Heather Lynn and 2 others . Breed: Herding Mix Hi there! I’m Aston, a happy playful puppy searching for my perfect forever family. Could that be you? My Story: I’ve had a rough start in life. My siblings and I were born on Halloween on the streets of Texas. Our mom, barely more than a puppy herself, was underweight and struggled to survive on scraps. Thankfully, a kind lady found us shortly after we were born and brought us to a shelter. From there, Safe Haven stepped in, and at just nine days old, we made the journey to Illinois. For the past 12 weeks, my foster family has taken wonderful care of me, and now I’m ready to find my forever home. About Me: I’m the silly playful puppy of my litter. I love to be vocal at playtime and would enjoy a family of my own to play fetch, tug-of-war, chase, or just enjoy a good snuggle session. My foster mom says my chocolate brown eyes are my secret weapon for winning hearts! What I’m Working On: Potty Training: I love going outside and have started doing my business in the yard. I love to explore and don’t mind the cold or snow. With proper training I will catch on to the “potty outside” command rather quick. Crate and Leash Training: I haven’t started crate or leash training yet, but I do get confined to a penned area when my foster family is gone and at bedtime. I am very food motivated and with your patience and continued guidance I will master all of these life skills quickly. The Perfect Home for Me: Kids: Due to my silly playful nature I’d love to be part of a family with children. I also enjoy snuggles, tail-wagging greetings, and playtime. Other Dogs: I’d do great in a home with another dog! My foster home has three dogs of different sizes and ages, and I love learning from them. Active Lifestyle: Due to my silly playful nature I would thrive with a family that gives me fun activities and love. Why I’m Special: At 13 weeks old and 19 pounds, my foster mom thinks I’ll grow to be a medium-large sized dog. I’ve got a happy, playful and loving personality, and I’m eager to please. I’ll be the perfect addition to a family that’s ready to help me learn and grow into a wonderful companion. A Gentle Reminder: Puppies like me need someone who’s patient, caring, and willing to invest time in training and socialization. Positive reinforcement, consistency, and patience are the keys to raising a happy, well-adjusted pup. If I sound like the perfect match for your family, don’t wait! Send your application to Safe Haven today—I can’t wait to meet you!

Gus is a 50 pound heeler mix who is 7 years old. He just is getting over being treated for heartworm and is doing GREAT! He does good with other dogs, but keep in mind he will try to herd them. He can also play rough at times. He is crate trained and housebroken. He enjoys playing with all toys, but he will remove the stuffing and squeaker from anything soft. He is not destructive to anything else in the home, unless it's the vacuum. When its on, he will attack it like he has a personal grudge. So we will crate him while using it. He also walks very well on the leash and enjoys a daily walk. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Hi, I'm Riddle. Thanks for taking a look at me! I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. Hi, I'm Sid! Thanks for checking me out! I know my cute face is hard to resist, but here's the scoop: I'll need a lot of your time and attention as I grow up into the amazing adult dog I'm destined to be! I'm looking for a forever family that will help me with socialization, training (yes, that includes house training!), and plenty of exercise. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. So, if you're up for the challenge and the fun, why not come meet me in person? Stop by during our adoption hours. For more details, email info@ahconnects.org or give us a call at 847-697-2880 x: 0. The friendly folks here will be happy to answer all your questions! Can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Meet Penny Formerly Known as Porsia: Ready for Her Forever Home! Hi, I'm Penny! I'm just over 1 year old, around 40 pounds, and I recently made my way up from Texas with my adorable puppies. I was a great mama, but now that my pups are weaned, it's my turn to find a forever family to call my own! I may be part Australian Shepherd or Kelpie—whatever my mix, one thing's for sure: I'm stunning! With one blue eye and one brown eye, I’m quite the head-turner. In my foster home, I live with kids and another dog, and I absolutely love them both. I’m still young, so sometimes I get a little too excited and jump up, but my foster family is helping me work on that. I'm doing great with potty training—when I go outside, I do my business right away. I love toys and playing fetch! I’ll bring the ball back to you every time, ready for another throw. I’m also super affectionate; I enjoy giving kisses and cuddling up on the couch. At night and during the day when my foster family is out, I rest in my crate. I might whine for a couple of minutes when I first go in, but I quickly settle down and sleep peacefully through the night. I’d love to find a family of my own—hopefully just in time for the holidays. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and beautiful companion, I’m your girl. Let’s make this season one to remember. Ready to meet Penny? Fill out an application and make her dream of a forever home come true! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.
