Story
As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. 2 1/2 years old This baby has found itself in a high kill animal control, adoptions nationwide are at an all time low, if you’re looking to adopt please do it now! All the urgent dogs are temperament tested in animal control, it’s not extensive but if they have made it this far they must be good dogs. All the dogs that are not marked as urgent are already in our rescue and we know more about them. They were all urgent once so anyone you adopt saves a life!

Story
Curly is an adorable one-year-old Cattle Dog Mix who is eagerly looking for a forever home. With her calm and quiet demeanor, Curly has won the hearts of everyone she meets. She possesses a loving nature especially once she forms a bond with her human companions. Her foster mom has enjoyed taking care of her and has stated that her company was most endearing. They spend many nights cuddling as the foster works on her computer. Even though her foster mom will miss her, she knows Curly is ready for the next big step in her life in finding a loving family! How did Curly come into the ArkanPaws program? There is a video of her walking across a bridge with several other abandoned dogs in an area known for dumping unwanted pets. The ArkanPaws volunteer returned with live traps and by the next morning she was secured. At first, she was afraid and it took about one week to win her trust. She still is shy when initially meeting strangers but warms quickly when she feels safe.  One of Curly's most endearing qualities is her gentle and sweet nature. She approaches life with a relaxed attitude, always ready to take things at her own pace. While she may initially be reserved, it doesn't take long for her to warm up to people, and once she does, her affection knows no bounds. She enjoys being petted and following her person around the yard and house. How did Curly get here name? Her cute little tail is what she is named for! Her appearance is very unique with her dappled short coat and corkscrew like tail. Her coat sheds very little and is easy to maintain. Curly will do best with older kids who are eight years old and up. She’s learning to like toys and has a zest for treats. With proper interaction, she has the potential and curiosity to engage in play. She's doing very well with the cats in her foster home. Curly is curious, but does not advance, or act aggressive in any way with them.  She’s crate trained and still trying to master potty training. Her foster mom is working with her to walk on leash. She is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, all core vaccinations, and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Her current weight is a healthy 38 pounds. Her adoption fee is $450, which covers her transport and all of the vetting she has received. She has been tested for heartworms and the result was negative. ArkanPaws is not licensed in the state of Massachusetts and unable to deliver there. ArkanPaws is a non-profit agency and all adoption fees supports other pets in need.  ##1771554##

Story
If you are lucky enought to bring this really good boy into your family, you have truly hit the best friend lottery.  Fredward "Fred" is a big guy with the heart to match.  He is loving, loyal and energetic and would lik nothing more than to put all 97 pounds of himself on your lap.  This gentle giant came to his foster family after he was found wandering their neighborhood in severly neglected shape.  He acclimated to his new enviroment quickly, including another dog and two cats.  He loves human company and attention.  He is always happy- whether he's getting tummy rubs, playing with a pal or chewing on one of his toys.  A DNA test shows his primary breed is a cattle dog, mixed with nine other breeds including Great Pyrenees, hence his good looks.  Since he is a big boy and has a significant amount of herding DNA, he needs a big space to run to be his happiest.  If you have a heart for big loving dogs, he's your guy! ##2039708##
