Story
This is truly a cool little dude! Cooper is 5 years old & would do best in a home with a dog his age or as a single dog for someone that is very active and has lots of time to take him for adventures. Good with small kids! Needs to have a fenced in yard for lots of off leash exercise and preferably a pool or pond as he loves the water. I have not had cooper very long and I was hoping he would fit in with my other 2 female cattle dog mixes, one of which is still a puppy. Cooper came from a single dog home and just seems very stressed out with the puppies antics and I don’t want it to become a negative experience for either of them. I can tell his goofy personality is in there but he leans toward the anxious side a bit (very out going in public settings and with new dogs) but I just don’t think their personalities are going to mesh well going forward despite best efforts. Cooper loves his frisbee and has pogo sticks for back legs. I just want to see this guy thrive in the right setting.

Story
Thanks to Glamour Paws Grooming in Imlay City for sponsoring the adoption fee for Eve!Meet Eve! A VERY nice girl who arrived to PAR on December 23rd after she found herself impounded at the county shelter from running the streets in Sanilac County. This young lady is full of life and there is never a dull moment with this girl! Eve loves to entertain herself playing with toys on her own and is quite independent. When she feels a bit stressed, she will calm herself down by suckling on a blanket (never chews it).Eve communicates well when it comes to her needs and she does best with a routine, like most dogs. Her favorite activities are playing with a flirt pole, fetch, and going for walks which Eve is an excellent loose leash walker! Just because Eve is known to be a higher energy breed, she has a very calm nature to her personality!Eve’s ideal family and home would be:Someone that likes to walk daily. Not gone long hours as Eve would like to be a big part of your day!Take her on car rides as Eve loves going on adventures.Someone who doesn’t mind dogs on furniture.Allow Eve to give smooches too!Children over 8 years oldInformation on Eve:𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅: Cattle Dog Mix (herding breed)𝑨𝒈𝒆: Adult, Est 2 years old𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓: Female𝑺𝒊𝒛𝒆: Medium, approx. 50 lbs.𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒓: Bi-color (White & Tan)𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆/Crate-𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅: Yes𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉: Tested, H/W-. Story
Some dogs come to us and have a harder time finding a home. We choose to think of this as a way for us to get to know the dogs needs better rather than dwelling on situations that didn`t work out. Wang Cai came to us at the beginning of March from the Rio Grande Valley. He`s a sweet boy who enjoys a good walk and gets along with adults well. He does well with female dogs although we recommend a meeting before adoption. Cai does need a home without cats. He also seems to be fearful at times of children, so we feel it best he`s in a home with kids over 16 or no children. He`s housebroken, smart, and athletic! We always recommend bringing other dogs to meet prior to adoption and bringing the entire family to meet. Cai`s adoption fee has been sponsored by Merrie Corbett meaning he`s adoptable for NO FEE and that includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.Visit between 12-7 pm M-F and 11-4 Saturday at 4371 E. Ashman St, Midland, MI, 48642. Applications can be submitted at www.hsomc.org/adopt/adoption-application but do not hold the dog for you.Photo Credit: Deb Lambesis*All determined breeds are visual guesses unless the dog is known to be purebred*

Story
Please see the HSBC Website to Apply to Adopt >Hover Adopt >Click "Adoptable Dog" >Scroll down to "How To Adopt" > Click "Dog Application" Keegan is a 1.5 year old, small, Australian Cattle Dog (a.k.a. Heeler). He is 22lbs and does well with cats, kids and other dogs. Being a driving dog, Keegan is highly intelligent and highly active pet. If you are familiar with the breed then you understand that they were bred to think for themselves and so Keegan, who is also kind and sweet, will need a good partner. Keegan's adoption fee is $300 and he is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and is HW negative. While in care, dogs are kept on Interceptor Plus for heartworm and worm prevention as well as K-9 Advantix for flea/tick/mosquito prevention.May 19, 2026, 9:32 pm

Story
Meet Ranger! STRAYCATION UPDATE BELOW! LOVES ALL PEOPLE & OTHER PUPS! This two-year-old red heeler mix is ridiculously handsome and is a 42-pound speckled snuggler! Ranger just enjoyed a weekend away from the kennel and we are excited to share what we've learned about him! He got a kick out of hanging with his foster fur brother and they did great together. Good on leash and eager to explore, Ranger also rides well in the car, but should be restrained to keep him in one place. He is a curious fellow who is always up for following his nose to his next adventure. Ranger has good recall as well. Our resident lover boy, Ranger will happily park himself right on your lap, just to let you know how much he cares. He already knows sit and takes his treats well-soft chewy treats are his current favorite. Ranger will thrive in a home that will provide the physical and mental stimulation he needs. He enjoys his squeaky toys as well as food puzzles. He does seem to have a prey drive, so a fenced-in yard would be ideal as well as a home free of cats or small animals. Ranger is crate-trained and is well on his way to being house-trained too! At the end of a fun-filled day, he is content to snuggle up on the couch to catch up on your favorite TV shows. Once it's time for bed, he sleeps quietly through the night, dreaming of the day his forever family brings him home. Based on our evaluation, we feel Ranger would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the potential to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the fellow for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our regal Ranger!
