Story
I AM CURRENTLY PARTICIPATING IN A PROGRAM AS A LEARNING ASSISTANT AND WILL RETURN TO THE SHELTER ON 11/21/23.Howdy! My name is Buster! I`m about 5 years old, weigh about 35lb, and I`m a Cattle Dog Mix!I came to MCAC as a stray, and unfortunately my family never came for. So I am looking for a new furever home, and hopefully that`s you!I`m a very friendly and active boy! I would love an active family that would love to take me for long walks! I would also love a fenced in backyard that I can run around in and explore! I also LOVE playing with toys!I know sit, but I`m willing to learn more tricks and commands!I would do best in a home with older kids. I also haven`t been around cats, but because of my breed and our herding tendencies, cats and small animals would probably not be a good match with me. I would need to go into a home that is very active because I have a lot of energy and due to my breed, I need things to do! A big fence in yard would be great! I get along with calmer dogs, if you have one I`d love to meet them to see if we`re a good match.I`m up to date on my vaccines, just make sure you take me to my new veterinarian within 2 weeks of my adoption to make sure that I stay healthy and keep on a regular vaccination schedule. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationMy adoption fee is $50.

Story
Smokey is a 1 year old neutered, up to date on shots, male blue heeler, around 45lbs, he’s good with kids and other dogs, he’s not mean or aggressive with cats he just hasn’t been around many. He needs a home with someone that’s willing to take the time and train him, he’s currently living in a pen and has so much built up energy, so when anyone goes in to feed him he jumps on them. He just wants a family to call his own and throw his ball for him and let him be part of a family, in the house with them. He’s very sweet and loving and very very smart , which without a active family to help entertain him, can get him in trouble, he’s all puppy and playfulness. Story
Stripes is a 1 y/o (dob 8/20/22) neutered male dog. He is medium in size weighing around 35-40#. Stripes brindle color and body shape lead is to believe he is a Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Stripes has been around a 3 y/o child and did well but was a bit skittish of kid activity. Therefore, we believe Stripes would be more comfortable with older kids. He loves other dogs and plays well with others. Stripes knows to do his business outside and keeps the house and his kennel clean. He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. He does well with other dogs and they help him build his confidence. Stripes loves his human and likes to be close to them when he isn’t playing with other dogs. He does put himself in his kennel while his foster mom gets her work done. Stripes may take a while to warm up but once he's comfortable he's very loving. He is very loyal to his main human. He feels comfort in his crate and enjoys furry toys. Stripes is a laid back guy who loves nothing more than a cozy bed, belly rubs and human snuggles. Stripes loves car rides and does well just in the car and not in a crate. This sweet boy is looking for a caring home that will help him continue to build his confidence. He is being taken care of in TN but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Poe is an amazing dog and is smart and friendly. He weighs 65lbs. He loves to cuddle and play. He is high-energy and would do well with a family with kids who love to throw the ball or chase him around or someone who likes to get up in the morning and go for a walk or run. He picks up tricks very easily and he is trained on ringing the bell at the door to go outside. We acquired him from a foster family about a year ago as a companion dog for our lab mix but underestimated his energy level. We have 3 kids between 6 and 12 who are not as enthusiastic about dogs as my husband and I, and we both work so Poe is often left in the cage during the day and not able to get the exercise and play he needs. I wish I had the time to spend with him, but he outpaces my lab mix and we don't have the extra time to spend with him, which is unfair to him. I would love to see him with someone who matched his energy level and enjoyed the outdoors. He would make an amazing best friend and companion.

Story
Meet Paco: The Playful and Sweet Cattle Mix Looking for His Forever Home! A delightful 50lb Cattle mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love! Paco, born in October 2022, is a bundle of playful energy. He adores roughhousing and howling with his Husky sibling, proving that he's always up for a good time! While Paco can be hesitant around unfamiliar people and men, he's been on an incredible journey of growth. He completed a three-week one-on-one training to work on his fears, showing his determination to overcome obstacles. Paco would thrive in a home with another playful dog or an active owner who can keep up with his boundless energy. A fenced yard would be the perfect playground for him to explore. He's great with kids but prefers a home without cats. This smart pup knows commands like coming when called, sitting, and laying down. He's a perfect companion on car rides and is crate-trained. Paco's favorite pastimes include chasing water from a hose, playing with his daycare buddies, and curling up in your lap for a well-deserved nap. He's the sweetest boy, eagerly waiting to find his forever family. Will you be the one to make his dreams come true?
