Story
Meet Foxy! With ears any pup would envy, Foxy is an adorable 50-pound, three-year-old cattle dog mix who is ready for a family that will love her the way she deserves. Right from the start, Foxy does not disappoint! She is one smart gal and knows several commands including "sit, down, shake, come, and stay". She is also house-trained and crate-trained! Foxy is easy to please and loves all sorts of toys including kongs and bones. Foxy is a pup that thrives off of affection and isn't afraid to ask for some love! She enjoys kisses from our volunteers and deserves all the love you can give. Foxy is great on a leash and is ready to follow you wherever you want to go. She also makes a great running buddy! True to her breed, Foxy does love to herd and will benefit from daily exercise and lots of enrichment to help keep her happily engaged and mentally stimulated. A fenced-in yard for her to explore is a must for her! As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from continued training in her new home. Based on our evaluation, we feel Foxy would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She may have the potential to live with other dogs of a similar size and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! She does have a dominant play style and will need to go to a home with no small animals due to her prey drive. If Foxy sounds like the pup you've been longing for, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and apply for this darling girl!

Story
Hey guys! My name is Snoopy. I am around 9 months old and about 40lbs of ENERGY!! I am new to CCRC so they will add more info as they learn all the amazing things about me! If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application and we could be best friends in no time!  We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   July 26, 2024, 4:21 pm

Story
This dog found its way to our house a few months ago, we’ve been trying to find her a good home since, because we currently have chickens outside and a cat inside that she wouldn’t get along with. I would love to find a home for her with someone who either has another small dog or no other pets, before the winter gets too harsh. She is super sweet and she loves to snuggle, and has spent lots of time with another small dog we have. We have had to keep her in an enclosure or in a specific room of the house most of the time we’ve had her as she has tried to run away or go after our chickens.

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.
