Story
Mia is a sweet girl that just wants to be loved. She was inherited and I simply do not have the time to ensure she is getting her needs met. She has severe separation anxiety and pretty strong food aggression when other animals are present. She loves attention and will gladly sit in your lap, on you, or be happily carried around. She is a big baby. She is extremely territorial. She is a herding breed and will try to be lead dog if other dogs are around which can lead to fights. She does not like children or cats and can be aggressive towards both. She has an aversion to kennels and will not tolerate dog beds. She is housebroken but can get a little excited. She loves walks and just being around adults. I feel with the right owner, she could be an amazing companion.

Story
Meet Elvin, a charming little oddball with a heart full of love 🐾💖. Elvin enjoys being close to his people, soaking up affection and companionship, but he prefers his personal space rather than being right on top of you. He’s happiest in a calm, quiet home and would do best without young children, where he can relax and feel secure 💕. Elvin can have good days and bad days, but with patience, kindness, and letting him go at his own pace, he truly thrives 💗. He does have a sensitive stomach, but with the right food, regular exercise, and a low-stress routine, he feels his very best 💞. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will blossom in a peaceful home, Elvin may be the perfect match for your heart 💓🐾. - Around 6 years old - Currently under 40lbs - Good with cats and dogs - Good with kids, but prefers a calm/quiet environment - Adoption fee: $100 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Hi! I’m a 4-month-old bundle of zoomies, wiggles, and puppy kisses I love chasing toys, learning new tricks (especially if treats are involved), and making everyone laugh with my silly antics. I’m still growing into my paws, but I’ve already mastered being adorable and full of love. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic best friend who’s ready to explore the world with you, I’m your pup!We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. December 14, 2025, 10:28 am

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.

Story
Meet Fiona - a 3-year-old, 45lb Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix who is as smart and athletic as she is loyal. Fiona's story hasn't been easy. She came from a home marked by domestic violence and was facing euthanasia for resource guarding. In a foster home with little handling experience, her guarding continued. But since coming to 12:10 K9 Rescues behavior modification program through Unleashed Freedom K9 Academy, she has made incredible progress. With clear leadership and structure, she has shown us her true potential. What Fiona Brings to the Table: -Work Drive for Days - She LOVES her ball, will launch into the air to catch it, and never seems to tire. -Athletic & Fast - Think Ferrari with fur. This girl was built to move. -Intelligent & Trainable - Picks up shaping quickly, eager to learn, and thrives when given a job. -Food & Toy Motivated - Ideal traits for training and working homes. -Dog Social - Gets along well with balanced dogs, especially those who can keep up with her energy. -Spayed, UTD on vaccinations, healthy, and ready for her next chapter. Fiona needs a confident, experienced handler-someone who can give her structure, channel her drive, and put her intelligence to work. In the wrong home, she's at risk. But in the right home, this girl will be a superstar. If you're interested in giving Fiona the job and home she deserves-or know someone who might be-please reach out and share her story. Let's get this incredible girl the chance she's been waiting for. We're located at 12:10 K9 Rescue, but we are willing to travel or even arrange flights for the perfect placement. Story
Ramona is an energetic 2yr old Queensland Heeler mixed with an unknown larger breed. She loves to play fetch and cuddle. As long as she doesn't get too hot, her favorite spot at bed time is right where you are. Her favorite toy is the Chuck-It ball. Walking her is a breeze, she keeps pace and isn't too easily distracted. Ramona is observant and very smart, so she often knows when it's time to 'kennel up' because she has learned our 'getting ready to head out' habits. Ramona needs consistent structure, exercise, and varied enrichment. If you're looking for a fellow home-body, she's not a good fit. Our ideal adopter would be someone who is regularly active - hikers/joggers might be exactly what she needs. She's an amazing partner who deserves the best home we can find. It's truly heartbreaking to admit that we're just not the people who best fit her needs.
